Evaluation of Living in a Digital World
In this age of globalization and modernization, digital technology plays a superior role in the life
of human beings. A digital world means an interconnection set up with the help of digital devices
and this world is full of ideas, opinions, learning as well as opportunities. A digital world
supports digital implementation and use of digital equipments to make the daily life of the people
much more comfortable. I have been using the above said equipments for quite a long period and
it is significant now to understand the social construction of digital framework. This is all related
to how sociology of science and the sociology of technology can benefit each other. The SCOT
Framework analyses the artifacts with their specific attributes. Technological construction
however differs and it is all dependent on the technical composition of such artifacts in
combination with the relevant social groups. The use of digital technology has been changing the
perception and social attitude of human being (Vossen et al., 2017).
Development and impact of digital world is immense in our daily live and the digital world is
directly related to the social construction of my identity and lifestyle choices (Baker, 2018). With
the use of digital technology, connection with the society has become much easier and faster I
have been using Smartphone to connect with my friends, family and use of social networking has
brought the whole world at my own fingertip. Earlier society hardly had such advanced
technological use and people were more dependent on telegrams and physical meetings.
However, life has completely changed with the advent of digital equipments. The lifestyle has
also changed and social networking has connected people on a single platform. Earlier people
used to chat by calling each other but nowadays people are engaged on virtual chats and I also
prefer to chat on Facebook or Twitter. Learning system has also changed as nowadays I save
everything on my computer and share it via mails. I prefer to read e-books as this saves my time
and saves my time to go to a bookstore. I often take part in the virtual class lectures conducted in
my college and thus make learning much easier.
Digital world also has some negative impacts. People are spending too much on social media and
tend to avoid meeting old friends and relatives. Whenever I get time, I involve myself into
chatting and texting and this reduces my potentiality on other grave works. Technology has even
made the people lazy, as everything is available at a single click.
