INTRODUCTION
Sociology is a concept of understanding the society norms ethics values etc and how it
relates to people. health and social care is directly related to sociology as it gives understanding
about health status of our society. also it is necessary to understand the sociological concepts and
how it relates to health and social care. Sociologist are those people who study social events
patterns and then developer theory that why these things work. the theories very on basis of
issues which they study an analyze (Andishehjoo, 2020). In present times health and social care
given two people where is on the basis of their beliefs values etc it depends on their social
relation and structure defined within society. Thus, there are various sociological concept which
are as follows
MAIN BODY
The grand theory
The grand theory it was proposed by Wright Mills in 1959. it refers that formal organization
and arrangement off concept his prior to understand social world. here author goal was to target
parsonian system theory. Apart from it there are various other concepts as well of sociology
which is explained as
Marxism call marks describes different theories and he critiqued that capitalism is fight between
bourgeoise the proletariat. he said that bourgeoise do production unemployed workers but by
giving less wages to workers they generated huge profit.
Durkheim also gave his views on structure of society. he focused on norms and structure of
society. also he said that values and rules are critical for functional society. He gave three
theories data functionalism enemy and division of Labor (Filegar, 2017). in functionalism he
stated that society must be described in terms of functions. it means society system of
interrelated parts did functions together. In division of Labor he argued that in traditional times
societies included homogeneous people. so they are not shame in terms of believes values etc
however in modern society there is complex believe backgrounds etc.
Similarly Max Weber also gave theory on sociology. he focused on element suggest class
power etc so he believed that society is divided between owners and laborers. Status is based on
non economic factors like education and religion. his idea focused on rationalization in which
society is built around logic rather than tradition.

Social constructivism it is a concept in sociology which states that people develop knowledge in
social Contacts this means that what we perceive as reality is dependent on shared assumptions.
it means that the things which is taken as granted our reality and socially constructed so it leads
to changes in society. There are three key points in this (Goldberg, and Lin, 2017). First is
knowledge is socially constructed it means knowledge arise from human relationship. Second is
language is central to social construction. It means languages restricted by some rules does these
rules cheap understanding of world by society and last is knowledge construction is politically
driven. It means knowledge constructed in society have consequences on culture political and
social contacts.
Structuralism it focus on view that society is prior to individuals this means maybe
patterns within social interaction his behavior. Lewis critic that social relations from the basis of
social structure. Also social structure must be viewed with social action. the social institution
patterns of social behavior and are elements of social structure. Therefore Karl Marx use this
structure to identify how resources are distributed. Also how social relation results in inequalities
in society. Marx used concept of dialectics and interaction process to transform nature of social
relation and it resulted in changing social structure as well (Reese, and Shoemaker, 2016).
Social constructionism It is a theory which states that characteristics are immutable and
biological such as gender class sex etc. they are shaped by culture and historic Contacts. it shows
that how cultural categories like men women etc are created and changed with the help of social
process within culture, It changed the approach of understanding the world and how society
thinks about today’s gender sex extra besides that how characteristics of groups is influenced by
biological factors and relate to historical periods.
Interpretivism- this concept was developed by Max Weber. It means to understand social
phenomena. Furthermore it focus on understanding meaning of please values actions with people
and institutions. It allows socialist to think and feel subjects of scientific research (Roth, 2020).
How sociological concept relate to health and social care
It has been analyzed that sociological concepts are related to social construct of social class.
this can be because on basis of values and beliefs of people health care services is given. Besides
that if any change in social class occurs then it impact on health and social care. Moreover
behavior of people also effect on their health care. however in order to provide equal health care
services to people it is necessary to understand the sociological concepts behind it. this will help

in analyze values believes etc of society and how it relate with social class and social structure.
Moreover, it is found that people who belong to high social class is having better health and well
being as compared to those who are low social class. Similarly in males and females as well the
health and social care varies as both needs differ from one another (Zorbas, and et.al., 2018).
CONCLUSION
So, it is concluded that there are different concept and theories of sociology such as
Structuralism, constructivism, interpretivism, etc which is proposed by various sociologist. This
has been useful in understanding social structure, relation, etc. of society.
