Introduction
This report discusses the various kinds of problems related to indigenous people. This
report also elaborates regarding the indigenous superordination concerning various parts (Barker,
Quennerstedt & Annerstedt, 2015). It includes conflict, functionalism, and symbolic
interactionism. This report also discusses the Indigenous superordination in Canada (Carlson,
2013). This report concludes regarding the learning outcome after completion of this kind of
project.
Discussion
Indigenous superordination is a situation occurred in the twentieth century. The social
scientist named Alan Barnard represents this term by saying a case study for the validity of this
as legal, relational (Carter and Fuller, 2015). This concept is not able to capture within the
nomothetic definition. This is a very crucial political issue, desire and also needs of this group of
people. His understanding related to the indigenous nations of Canada exceeds the ideology as
well as the theory of the anthropologist (Chamberlain-Salaun, Mills & Usher, 2013). The main
problems that are faced by indigeneous people is facing is that:

Symbolic interactionism is a micro theory that is related to the “indigenous
superordination”. It elaborates on the social behavior of the indigenous people. By using this
they can interact using different kinds of symbols. It came into the picture in the middle of the
twentieth century. Poor health is one of the biggest problems of these people. Symbolic
interactionism affects it a lot (Denzin, 2016). The World Health Organization has performed
reviews common as well as the basis of the health of indigenous. There are lots of strides that are
part of the huge number of Indigenous people. Symbolic interactionism improves the problems
that are related to health. But there will be the people of that category who have a huge
probability of illness and it will cause the earlier death of the non-Indigenous people. Because of
this reason, different kinds of diseases (includes diabetes and heart disease)are growing
drastically. The symbolic interactionism helps to reduce this kind of problem (Dionysiou &
Tsoukas, 2013). There is a huge rate of problems related to the respiratory system. They can
affect other diseases among these people. They have a problem with housing. These problems
can be solved by this theory.
An indigenous person has a very low-level education (Lee, 2014). As per the Canadian
census, thirty-three points six five percent of the people about an aboriginal person that has no
secondary school as well as an equivalent certificate that is compared to the eighteen points three
of the rest of the Canadian population. Symbolic interactionism can efficiently solve this
problem.
There is very less number house are available for the Indigenous people. They knocked to
the United Nations to resolve this problem. But nothing is happened (Rock, 2016). By using the
Emergence theory of symbolic interactionism this problem is solved. The Emergence theory

indicates that the non-habituated part of the life of a society. Emergence can make a new form of
social life. Emergence theory can be the correct choice of resolving the problem of education.
By following the symbolic interactionism the average of the Indigenous people increase
in huge amount. At a past income of these people was very less than the non-Indigenous people
(Lee, 2014). At present, the average income e of Indigenous people increases to seventy-five
percent than the non-Indigenous people. It indicates a good sign for the Indigenous people.
In the society of the Indigenous people faced a huge problem in terms of unemployment.
From 2006 to 2016 the rate of unemployment did not increase at all. This problem can be solved
by the theme named Human Agency of the Symbolic interactionism (Denzin, 2016). This theme
states that human agency gives a willful, charming feature of the human being. The agency gives
the observation of the incident, instance of social life. That is why this can be a good choice for
resolving this problem.
The adults of the Indigenous adults got admission to twenty-six percent of admission. But
only three percent of Canadian adults were getting the facility of admission. As per the federal
correctional services, twenty-eight percent of the admissions were on the custody. This problem
can solve Symbolic interactionism in an efficient manner (Carter & Fuller, 2015). The social
determination of the symbolic interactionism can solve this problem. This theory deals with the
social movement of the Indigenous people. This means that no person in the society will be there
for the total interaction.
Children of Indigenous have a higher rate of death due to various types of causes. As per
the health statistics of Canada, the children of Indigenous can die from the unintentional accident
than the other children of Canada (Carlson, 2013). This problem can be solved very efficiently

by using symbolic interactionism. The theme named human agency will be very much useful in
this case because it mainly observes active and also the willful character of the human. Children
can solve the above-mentioned problem by using this theme.
The rate of suicide of the Indigenous people is very much higher. The rate of suicide in
this society is much higher than the first nation of Canada. This can be solved very efficiently by
symbolic interactionism. A statistics of 2016 of Canada mentioned that more than one-fifth of
the reserved First Nations, adults of Inuits committed suicide at any time in their entire life
(Carter & Fuller, 2015). The rate of suicide is five to seven times larger than the suicide rate of
the First nation of Canada. The rate of suicide is eleven times larger than the rate of suicide of
the First Nation in the country of Canada. The main cause of death of the First Nation of Canada
was self-injury as well as suicide (Rock, 2016). This problem can be solved by using symbolic
interactionism. The emergence theory of symbolic interactionism is very much appropriate in
this particular case.
The name of the article that shows evidence of a problem indigenous peoples face is

Conclusion
This report discusses the problems faced by the indigenous people of Canada. It reflects a
brief overview of the “indigenous superordination”. In my opinion, the learning outcome of this
project is to get an idea of the problems that are related to the indigenous people of Canada and
also get an idea of a social perspective named symbolic interactionism.
