INTRODUCTION
Sociology can be define as a study of structure, development and functioning of an
individual. It plays a vital role in the solution of problems related with society by utilizing
different methods and research. The study will focus on education along with impact of factors
related to society on education.

Discuss the trends in marriage in the UK
In the second half of 20th century, marriages in UK has become less popular. Despite of
overall population which is increasing in the country the number of first marriages in UK is
decreasing in 1970s. It has been analysed in the study that there has been a rapid decline in
number of marriages in UK in the year 1980s and 1990s (Families: Changing Patterns of
Marriage, 2018). Thus, there are number of reasons behind low popularity of marriages in this
particular period. Some of them are discussed here.
Secularisation: Importance of religion in United kingdom is declining day by day and is
contributing in low popularity of marriages. These days, marriages is not a religious
ceremony any more and couples are now living together without even getting married. In
earlier days it was considered as living with sin.
Divorce rates: Comparing to the early years, divorce rate is gradually increasing day by
day and putting a major impact on individual to avoid getting married.
Expense: It has been identified that average wedding in UK is cost around £27,000.
Women careers: Women nowadays are becoming independent and wants to have their
personal financial security. This leads to delaying in marriage and settle down of women.
CONCLUSION
From the above study it has been concluded that sociology plays a major role in in a
society to solve problems. Overall educational system is impacted by various sociological issues
such as gender, ethnicity, social class etc. Trends of marriages in countries are also effected by
beliefs and perceptions of individuals.
