3PROJECT OUTLINE
In completing the above assignment, I had come to know a few relevant happenings
about the life of Sojourner Truth, the struggles she had to go through and the challenges that
she had to overcome in her lifetime. During the completion of the assignment, I had found
out about the fact that Truth was a member of the African-American class and was born in a
slave family. She had struggled and finally managed to escape the conditions of slavery along
with her infant daughter at the age of 29. She had devoted all her life towards the fight for
eradication of the distinction on the grounds of race and gender. This assignment also helped
me to gather knowledge about the famous speech of Sojourner Truth titled “Ain’t I a
woman?” that dealt with the equality of the residents on the basis of their gender. In her
speech, Truth dismissed all the previous claims that women need help in every sphere of their
lives. Through this speech of hers, she puts forward the fact that she did perform all the tasks
that were deemed to be performed by men. Thus, she claims that men and women should not
be treated differently on the basis of their gender and should be provided with equal rights.
One may have to overcome a few difficulties while completing the project. The facts
about the concerned person may be hard to find. The articles that deal with the achievements
of the concerned person may not be easily accessible to the researcher. In order to complete a
successful project, the researcher must be well-informed on the topic and subject of the
research.
