Introduction
Here, in this report, project management has been defined using a case study to develop a new
“Online SolarPower System” for the Bob Sparks including different phases of the project as well
as resources involved in the project. It also explains complete detail of the project and how the
workflow for the complete project starting from planning to the submission of the final project
after completion.
The main aim of the report to enhance the knowledge and skills of an individual for the effective
management of any project and their functions along with complete analysis of different reports
and risks related with the project which can be minimized before starting of the real work on the
project.

Task 1. System Development Methodology
Modified Waterfall Model
It is a modified version of the Waterfall model. In this version, different phases can be
overlapped when required and some phases are divided into small sub-phases containing sub-
elements of any phase for the task and also have better flexibility in comparison with pure
waterfall model (Rayo 2015).

Extreme Programming
It is a type of development model which consist of step by step developments of the basis of
functions and the improvement in different phases of the task. It helps to emphasis the complete
and final report produced for the task (Powell-Morse 2017).

Task 2. Project Gantt Chart
The Gantt Chart for the new business named “Online SolarPower System” for the Bob-Sparks
has been shown below which consist of different phases starting with the planning of the new
project and ends with the submission of the final project after successful development,
implementation, documentation, and testing of the new web-based online business system. All
the members of the project such as Project manager, CEO, Accounts Manager, Analyst,
Programmer, Testing agent, and others have been defined along with their role in specific phases
of the project. Different reports and tables have been generated for a better understanding of
different phases of the project.
Planning: It consists of complete research and evaluation of all the solar power plants and
business which are running currently in the market in order to plan a new and effective online
business system for the Bob-Sparks to stand unique and different from other competitors
available in the market.
Meeting & discussion: It consists of meeting with other members of the project and business in
order to discuss all the details and planning of the new project to share the new ideas and
techniques which will be used in the new online system for the business of Solar Power. It also
includes feedback collection from other team members, their improvement in planning and
approval from other team members.
Design & development: It consists of complete design and development stage of the new online
business platform for the Solar Power to be used by Bob-Sparks. It will help both customers as
well as organization to manage all the orders, quotes, requests, approval and payment for the
customer.
Testing of the new online business system: It consists of testing of the new online business
platform designed and implemented to be used for Solar Power by the Bob-Sparks. It also
includes the recording of different results and feedback for the working and performance of the
newly designed system which is done by the testing agent.
Improvement and final implementation: It consists of improvement which needs to be done
on the implementation and design of new online business system to enhance the functions and

performance of the complete system to become more effective both for the organization as well
as the customers.
Report and documentation: It consists of generation or reports of a new online business system
which has been designed and implemented for the “Online SolarPower System” and result have
been documented for the approval from the team members as well as the legal purposes.
Submission: It is the final and last stage of the project in which final submission of the newly
developed project for the online business system has been done to be used by the organization as
well as the customers.
