The persona in the song is a neighbor and a very close friend to the girl’s family (Moore,
2017). The persona was able to interact and observe the family both in the country side and in
the city. The neighbor was therefore able to see the change in the life of the girl (Moore, 2016).
The journey really shaped the behavior of the girl.
1st verse
The story of a girl, who lived with the parents and grandparents.
In a four room house that’s located in the countryside.
Life was comfortable; she was living in a big happy family.
While the grandpa liked gardening; the grandma dried grains and made good meals.
Grandpa taught her gardening every evening when she came from school.
She being naughty; she spent her evening on top on a mango tree.
New bedtime stories every night grandma seemed talented in this.
No day passed without a giggle on their faces.
Chorus
Value your people when you live with them.

3
Coz they will be by your side when you need them.
Value your people when you live with them.
Coz they will be your joy in every moment.
Value your people when you live with them.
Coz true love would always come from them.
Value your people when you live with them.
Coz our moment on this earth with them is limited.
2nd verse
On the girl’s 12th birthday the parents moved to the city in search for a good school for
girl to learn.
Life changed drastically for the family reduced.
No grandma to tell her stories, no grandpa to teach her gardening.
No grandma to make her good meals no grandpa to make the garden.
Life was very difficult for they lived in a smaller house.
At times they went for dinners but the love was not enough.

The family seemed lonely as they felt smaller.
The love in the family was smaller and the laughs and giggles were no more.
Because they left a part of us back to the countryside.
Situations were very difficult but grandma showed up few months later.
Not to stay forever this time not to tell her any stories.
But her visit really taught her.
She told her to accept the changes in life and move on with my life.
She said good memories should be cherished; good future should be built.
And a good future is only built if we don’t hold ourselves back.
