This is a German Company that offers diversified products and services such as electronics,

world wide. For expansion of business in new emerging marketplace in the fast-changing
international market, Sony needs to concern more on introducing innovative features in its
products as well as reinvent itself. This would give advantages to survive in global market and
earn more profitability. The present research focusing on understanding the concept of how Sony
survive in international market, where many companies are already established to give high
competition. To investigate this topic, researchers have framed appropriate aims and objectives

manufacturing and other industries. Therefore, the main reason behind choosing this topic is to
analyse how technology helps organisations in getting sustainability of business (Rugman,
2012). For this purpose, Sony is chosen because this company deals in both technical and
electronic segment where innovations come out with new products and services that helps in
increasing customer satisfaction. While another reason to choose Sony as a research case study
to evaluate how much this company operate business ethically.
Activities and Timescale
This part of research activities which are going to be done for conducting a research on
chosen topic. It includes identification of main topic, frame problem statement, setting deadlines
for completion of project, conduct literature review to analyse view point of some professionals

Interpretation: As Sony is one of the largest organisation in technological sector that operates
business at multinational level. Therefore, it seems to be able to maintain its cash flow more
appropriately. In terms of revenue, it comes on third position in electronic market segment and
willingness of customers to purchase its products on high price also shows its competitive
advantages. Henceforth, all these things lead to get easily survival at global market. In this
regard, as per above graphical representation, it has been interpreted that out of 40 respondents
30 are agreed with above statement. While rest of the 10 participants didn’t agree with same.
They thought that Sony needs to change its pricing strategies as per other electronic companies at
international market, because offering products on high rates cannot retain customers having low
income.

technological features to make their work more easy. In this regard, as Sony offers electronic
products therefore, to gain high satisfaction of customers, it is essential for this company to bring

operate their businesses and offer services in international market, more easily. Increasing
globalisation has given more opportunities to both national and multinational organisations to
expand business more appropriately. For this purpose, to get such benefits and survive at global
level, it becomes essential for entities to create changes according to new trend of marketplace.

5.1 Conclusion
From above discussed point it can be conclude as well as analysis that each and every
organization wants to expand its business in international market because by it they able to
enhance their customers base. Along with this, expansion of business in international market
helps an organization in gaining competitive advancement in effective and efficient manner.
Through expanding business, company is also able to increase its profitability ratio and market
share which help them in conducting business operations and function in effective as well as
appropriate way. But while expanding business at international level, an organization needs to go
through various factors such as nature and culture of market, taste and preference of customers,
budget for expansion, requirement of manpower, supply chain and many more. By conducting all
these activities in an appropriate way an organization able to develop strategies, plan and policies
in proper as well as effective manner.
Moreover, for this purpose, companies need to conduct market research in which they can
carry various activities such as conduct market evaluation, collect data as well as information,
analysis and evaluate it and many more. Through this process, they can get information of latest
trends, competitor’s strategies and growing demand of customers. This will also help a firm in
sustaining in particular international marketplace for a long time in effective manner. By this,

As per this research, it has been evaluated that to run business smoothly companies need to
concern more on finding ways to survive first at global level. In context with Sony, it mainly
aims to get sustainability for generating social value and maintaining a high level of profit. For
this purpose, it mainly focuses on retaining customers for longer period within business.
Therefore, to achieve this goal it is recommended to Sony to concern more on creating
innovation in its products and services. Along with this, by recognizing that ethical business
practice is essential to survive in global market. In this regard, its management must focus to
operate business with specific code of conduct. For this purpose, its Board of Directors should
develop effective corporate governance by considering the interests of its stakeholders—
customers, shareholders, employees, business partners, suppliers, local communities and other
associated people. Along with this, concerning on global environment, Sony also needs to
engage in Corporate social responsibility which would help in seeking interest of stakeholders
and build trust also. It includes concerning on reducing technical impact on ecosystem and
prevent it from harmful emission of manufacturing process. Through these activities, Sony will
get an advantage to increase its corporate value and retain customers for longer period.
Furthermore, it also helps in generating economic and social value as well as effective
contribution in the development of a sustainable society. This would aid in getting sustainability
as well as enable Sony to survive more easily at international platform.

CHAPTER 6: PERSONAL REFLECTIVE STATEMENT
6.1 Reflect on research method used in project
For collecting data within present research, I have used various methods such as primary or
secondary method. In primary method of data collection, I have collected data or information on
real time basis by using questionnaire method. For this purpose, I have selected 40 respondents
from stakeholders of Sony to get their feedback in order to address specific issues. Along with
this, secondary data collection methods helps in collecting adequate amount of data. It is totally
based on past research conducted by some other person. This has been done through various
techniques such as internet, books, journals, newspaper and many more. After collecting data or
information, next essential step is analysis and evaluation of research in which researcher
conduct evaluation of data which they collected from various sources is done. After conducting
evaluation of data or information in effective way, I have provided a proper recommendation to
Sony to survive in competitive place of international market. Along with this, I have suggested
some essential ways which its management must be considered while operating its business in
international or worldwide market.
6.2 Consider research method that could have been used
In order to gather more specific data about Sony’s policies and strategies which it is used
for operating business successfully at international market, I can use another method of primary
research also. It includes face to face interview method which helps in watching how Sony's
customers behave after using its products and services. This would also aid in getting an inside
perspective of Sony's customers through which better recommendation can be given, for higher
satisfaction of its targeted audiences.
6.3 Areas for further research
For understanding how Sony and other multinational companies survive in global market,
the areas where I need to conduct more study are- advantages and challenges of globalisation. By
making an investigation on what will be the benefits and challenges companies are facing today
due to increasing globalisation, I will get more opportunity to complete future projects based on
same topic in more specific manner.

I will use some primary research such as observations which is watching how Sony's
customers behave which will give me an inside perspective of Sony's customers.
Another type of primary research that I will use for my research project will be face-to-face
surveys, which consists of personal interviews conducted face to face.
Furthermore, I will use some secondary research as well.
The good thing about using secondary research is that you can get all the information online by
just entering a key or a word and it will help me to investigate more about Sony's tactics to survive
in a dynamic market easier and more conveniently.
The main difference between deductive and inductive approaches to
research is that whilst a deductive approach is aimed at testing a theory
and inductive approach is concerned with the generation of the new
theory emerging from data.
A deductive approach normally begins with a hypothesis, whilst
inductive approach will use research questions to narrow the scoop of
the study.
I will use some primary research such as surveys and questionnaires to
put them in a chart.
I will get some secondary data through secondary research websites.
I will try to conduct a case study including Sony's customers, surveys.
