1. Introduction
There are diverse categories of business strategies which are adopted by commercial
business organization when they select a project or the team members who will be doing the
project and address the challenges of the trade-offs (Noe et al., 2017).
This paper will have numerous sub sections and each of those sections and each of
those sections will be very much significant to analyse the effectiveness of the business
strategy which is adopted of the target organization of this paper.
1.1 Target organization
The target organization of this paper is Southern Care Hospital (SCH) which is one of
the largest non-profit organization located in the south eastern part of the country. There are
numerous business challenges related with the strategies adopted by this organization such as
the dissatisfaction of the employees working in this hospital.
2. Selection of projects
There are diverse categories of projects which are usually categorized in health care
corporations such as the functional projects, pure projects as well as matrix project. There are
positives and negatives related with each of these diverse categories of projects (Lock, 2017).
Functional projects can be defined as the type of project where project team members work
from different functional units of a business or an organization such as the HR department,
finance department, marketing department, sale and operations department and administrative
block. Pure project is defined as the other category of project where external help is required
from outside the business or the organization such as the help coming from the service
providers. There are diverse categories of project management tools which are used in the
pure projects such as PROOFHUB and JIRA (Lu, Laux & Suresh, 2017). Whereas matrix

project can also be defined as the type of project where different categories of organizational
structure play a huge role for the successful completion of the project. There are usually two
bosses or project managers in the matrix projects, one of these managers manages the
functional activities of the project and the other the manager manages the non-functional
activities of the project.
2.1 Selected project
The notable determination of this project is to provide six sigma training to the
employees of the healthcare. This training session can be very much useful to enhance the
level of experience of the employees of this healthcare corporation (Lankaites Pinheiro,
Landa‐Silva & Atkin, 2017). Each of the available resources is expected to work on a part
time basis so that they can focus on their current assignments also.
2.2 Six sigma certification levels
There are diverse categories of certification levels related with the industrial training
sessions such as the yellow belt, green belt, black belt, master black belt, and black belt
(Khairina, Maharani & Hatta, 2017). There is a level of accuracy in each of these certification
levels and these levels are very much significant for the completion of the project.
2.3 Selection of the appropriate type of the project
Based on the skill level of each of the available resources and the objectives of this
report it can be said that functional project is the most suited project type for this
organization.
2.3.1 Justification
The selection of this project type can have a significant impact on the project manager
of this project as his work pressure can be reduced to a significant extent. Smaller training
sessions can be created with the help of the functional structure. The selection of this type of

project. The challenges which is expected in this project can be successfully addressed with
the help of the experience of each of the project team members. The overheads cost of the
project can also be controlled with the help of the project savings capability of these project
team members.
2.4 Selection of resources
The selection of the human resources is one of the most significant critical success
factor related with this project. It must be said that the selection of the human resources must
be depended on the both the years of experience as well as the remuneration of the
resources as there is a limited budget for each and every project in healthcare corporations
(Ellis & Walton, 2017). The five resources who might play a huge role in this project are
Anna Frost, Roberta Jackson, Susan Osborne, Edward Young and Hazel Vaughan
2.4.1 Justification behind the selection
The criteria which were considered regarding the selection of these resources are
years of experience and average project savings. Each of these two criteria is very much
required in these project as there are diverse challenges related with this projects in terms of
the resistances coming from the employees who will be going through the training.
2.5 Management of the trade-offs
It is defined as the type of situational decision which is required to be taken in a
project which can manage the limitations of a project.
There are numerous categories of trade off related with this project such as the
management of the cost in each phase of the project (de Souza et al., 2017). This can have a
huge impact on the successful completion of this project.

It can be said that the selection of the trade-off analysis technique can be very much
useful to make the decisions in order to deal with the trade-offs of this project (O'Leary et al.,
2017). This technique can also enhance the communication among the project team members.
3. Conclusion
The six sigma training in Southern Care Hospital which is considering different types
of certification levels can be done as a functional project as the training as each of the
training can be done from different departments in this hospital. Efficiency of each available
resource can also be managed using the functional structure. The selection of the resources of
this project are done using criteria’s like years of experience and average project savings. The
paper can be very much useful to conclude that trade-off analysis technique can be very much
beneficial to address the trade-offs of the project.
4. Recommendations
The list of recommendations for SCH are as followings:
Morale of the employees must be enhanced prior to the start of the project.
Objective of the training must be understood by the trainees.
