AI Summary
This document presents a comprehensive project management plan for the construction of a Learning Communities (LC-01A) building, utilizing various project management tools and techniques across the project lifecycle. It details the initiation phase, including the project charter with objectives, scope, deliverables, and milestones. The planning phase incorporates a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Gantt chart, critical path analysis, network diagram, stakeholder plan (including a stakeholder register), resource plan (with a RACI matrix), and a communication plan outlining meeting guidelines and communication mediums. Risk management is addressed through a risk register, and the procurement plan and budget plan are also included. The plan further outlines the execution, control (including a quality plan), and closure phases of the project. The assignment uses waterfall project management methodology for the LC-01A building project.

Introduction
The report aims at development of project management plan for Learning Communities (LC-
01A) building. It includes demonstration of project management tools and techniques in
various phases of the project lifecycle.
Project life cycle
The project lifecycle refers to four-stage process which is followed by all project managers to
complete the project. The proposed construction of Learning Communities (LC-01A)
building will go through following phases:
Initiation – This stage includes project charter document.
Planning - This stage includes project scope statement, work breakdown structure and
Gantt chart.
Execution - This stage includes progress tracking and project status.
Control - This stage includes goal tracking and budget tracking
Closure - This stage includes project analysis and project report (Wrike, 2019).
Project management methodology
A methodology is a model which is followed by project managers for conducting, planning,
achieving and implementing the objectives of project. The construction of the proposed LC-
01A building shall be done in fixed phases and until current phase is completed, the next
stage cannot be started. Hence, waterfall project management methodology is best suited for
the proposed project. This model has various fixed phases and linear timeline. The model has
an advantage over other inexpensive methodologies by having a very small learning curve.
Initiation phase
Project charter
Business reason for project – The construction of LC-01A building shall provide a platform
where all the attendees can learn different skills as per their area of interest.
Project objectives – The key objectives of the proposed project are to construct a LC-01A
building for a capacity of 6000 with 10% contingency.
Project scope – The scope of the project includes following items:
2
Document Page
Resource recruitment
Purchase construction material
Procure safety and health measures for the involved resources
Frame quality metrics for the building
The scope does not include following items:
Marketing of the building
Inauguration of the building for the users
Deliverables – Following are key deliverables of the project:
Contract sign-off
Budget estimation
Building design sign-off
Award contract
Milestones - Following are key milestones of the project:
Milestone name Start Finish
Milestone 1: Project charter Tue 11-06-19 Tue 11-06-19
Milestone 2: Project plan Fri 28-06-19 Fri 28-06-19

Milestone 4: Tracking report Mon 23-09-19 Mon 23-09-19
Milestone 4: Closure report Tue 01-10-19 Tue 01-10-19
Planning phase
Work Breakdown Structure – It is one of the project management tools and techniques
where in entire project is broken down into smaller manageable tasks. WBS helped in budget
allocation as the project budget can be allocated to its top level and individual department
budget can be calculated quickly. It is also used for identification of project risks. Also,
when the project is behind the schedule, it will help in identifying the key deliverables which
are impacted by the late deliveries.

Stakeholder plan
It is the process of developing a strategy to engage stakeholders throughout the project. The
LC-01A building project has following stakeholders:
LC-01A owner
LC-01A sponsor
Project manager
Design architect
Contractor
Laborers
