they also adopt the scheme of involving employee in decision making process. The ASDA staff
are being motivated to actively take part in the organization decision and take out good ides for
the company. This is done by the company as it will help them to gain trust on the enterprise and
feel like they are valued which also give the benefit of working in a more productive manner(Yi

In the context of ASDA as the organisation is associated with managing their business in retail
industry so their employees are having direct interactions with customers. In this manner for the
organisation this is significant that to involve employees in decision making so that to value
their employees and to make them a significant part of the organisation. With the help of
adopting hybrid workplaces ASDA may motivate their employees and retain them for longer
duration of time. In the current time, hybrid working is one of the significant aspect which is
used in the business so that to develop their employees and to acquire success as well. On the
other hand with the help of giving time to time appreciation to employees this will boost their
motivation and could be helpful in retaining them for longer time by motivating their morale.
Besides this, compensation plan is one of the major motivation scheme which is used within the
organisation so that to attract employees towards better working and would be helpful for the

As per Johnson, and Pike (2018), Many of the staff of the ASDA has a insecurity in term
of finance. This financial insecurity among them made it impossible for the company to retain
the employee for longer period. This insecurity also enhance the turnover rate in the business.
This factor is the most challenging factor despite of giving reward in term of monetary. There are
some employee in the company who think of money a lot which demotivate them and also their
productivity towards the work is also low which forces them ton leave the organization. The next
factor which influence the retention is work life balance. The majority of the employee of ASAD

factor which influence the retention is work life balance. The majority of the employee of ASAD
is of view that it is impossible for them to maintain a proper balance between the work and the

life which increase the rate of staff turnover. They are dissatisfy by themselves as they are not
able to work professional as well as personally. This is the major challenge that company faces
which are decreasing the retention rateIrabor, and Okolie, 2019). At the process of developing
employees motivation there are various factors those are related with creating issues within
employees as in context of minimised working. This is stated that these are the challenges which
are required to be managed in such a way that employees can be motivated and at the same time
they may give their higher efforts to the business. Poor employee manager relationship is the
major factor which is regarded as the challenge in developing employee motivation and this may
affect statistics of employee retention in negative manner. On the other hand, lack of employee
recognition is the other issue which is faced by the organisation at the time of developing
employee retention schemes and retaining employees. When employees are not recognised then
this will lead them into face the situation of undervalued and this is one of the significant reason
in which employee face issues and develop their decision to leave the organisation. In the terms
of ASDA being an employee oriented organisation this is the responsibility of their management
that they develop such edges into the business so that to develop employee engagement and
employee morale as well. When employees are working with higher involvement then they will
give their fuller skills and capabilities to the business and this will be helpful in attaining overall
business objectives.
2.3 Conclusion of Literature Review
From the above literature review it is being concluded that there is a direct relationship
between the motivation level and the retention. If staff feel motivated then this will help the
ASDA to retain their employee and improve their quality of work. This also help the company
overall performance and can compete with their competitor in best way. Retention also increases
the cost of the company and if motivational scheme is adopted in positive manner then the cost
will also be reduce to recruit new employee. This is concluded that with the help of employee
motivation schemes this would be easier for the organisation to develop such belongingness in
which business may attain higher edge to involve employees in decision making and attaining
success over the business as well. In this manner employee motivation schemes are having major
role in developing organisational employees in such a way that they can be involved in business
processes in full fledged manner. Similarly, this is examined that there are various motivation
able to work professional as well as personally. This is the major challenge that company faces

researcher has chosen the deductive approach which help the in developing a detailed
understanding based on the literature review and will help in explaining the quantitative
data(Snyder, 2019).
3.2 Research Strategy
There are various strategy through which actual and appropriate data can be gather.
Experimental, survey, action research, observation, literature review. In this topic investigator
has selected the survey strategy as it will help in collecting the wider data in systematic manner.
This also help in gathering large information in less time. This will also used to collect
information from an individual through filling their responses in the selected tools(Kumar,

3.3 Research Methodology
Research methodology is a systematic procedures which is used to identify, collect.
Evaluate and analyses the information about the given topic. There are two type research
methodology quantitative and qualitative. Quantitative methodology is used when the
information is in the form of quantity which can easily be measured to get accurate information
and qualitative methodology is used when the information is not in based on numeric value. I

3.4 Research Tools
Research tool is an instrument which is used to collect the information. Theses are those
equipment which are used by the researcher so that data can be obtained in actual manner.
Interview, questionnaires, case study etc., Are the types of research tool. In this investigator has
selected questionnaire to collect data as it will require less time and data can be obtained in
figures. This will also helpful for the respondent as it will provide choices to answer the question
and is most economical tool to collect the information(Bairagi and Munot, 2019).
3.5 Sampling
Sampling is the statistical technique of selecting the respondent from the whole
population. There are two types of sampling techniques this are probability sampling and non
probability sampling. Probability sampling is a technique were respondent are selected randomly
and each and every one get an equal chance of getting chosen. No probability sampling is the
process were individual are selected by unfair way. They don't get an equal opportunity of being
selected(Ledford and Gast, 2018). Under the research probability sampling is used as this is
giving equal opportunities for respondents to get selected. This is regarded as one of the
prominent method which is having clear degree of importance. With the help of this method
samples can be selected on the basis of randomisation which helps the researcher to getting
selected in equatable manner. This sampling is easy and helps in minimising the risk of under or
over presentation. There are 30 respondents are taken under the research in which employees are
taken as respondents.
3.5.1 Identifying Population and Research Site
To conduct this research the investigator has chosen the sample size of 30 employee from
the ASDA company and the research site to conduct this survey is the supermarket of ASDA in
UK.
3.5.2 Sampling Strategy
In this report the investigator has chosen the probability sampling so that the employee of
ASDA get an equal chance of being selected to respond they given question. So that each
employee has an equal probability of being chosen (Whicher, Philbin and Aronson, 2018).
