Introduction
Construction industry projects are the most difficult projects that need skilled teams in the
execution of these projects. This report outlines the knowledge map oof the Stakeholders in the
construction project as well as the self assessment of the project teams. Stakeholder management
is a very important to for the effective communication as well as for the sharing of the
knowledge and the skills. The objective of this study is to identify the involvement of the
stakeholders in the construction industry and the knowledge mapping of these stakeholders at the
each phase of the construction. Stakeholder refers to an individual or a group of people or the
organization who is affected by or affect or pretend to be affected by the other activities In the
project. Stakeholders of the construction project include many people, like project managers,
designers, architects, builders, property owners, suppliers, competitors, shareholders and other
professionals (Yun, 2008).
In the construction projects, there are two types of the stakeholders – internal and external
stakeholders. The internal stakeholders refer to the team of the project that involves designers,

contractors, managers , programmers. etc, whereas the external stakeholders are the suppliers,
competitors, government bodies, labor unions as they are not directly involved in the
construction project.
Project scope
The scope of the this project is wide as this is based on the promotion of the Australian institute
of the building and the career opportunities in the construction industries. The Australian based
construction industry aims at the knowledge mapping of the different stakeholders in the
construction projects. There are many functional roles are played by the different stakeholders
and the success of the construction is highly dependent on their roles and the effective
communication between them.

Stages of the construction projects
There are 4 stages in the construction projects of the AIB and all these stages have different aims
and goals. A diagrammatic presentation of these stages is shown in the below diagrams (Guerin,
2012). These stages include Feasibility stage, Pre construction stage, construction stage and the

Project management team
The project management team of the construction projects of the Australian institute of Building
includes the following memebr4s-
Project Manager: - The project manager is the key person in these types of projects as they are
the people who have the responsibilities to manage all the activities performed by the other
members in the construction project.
Employees: - The employees of the Australian institute of Building (IB) need proper training to
perform their tasks. The training is must educate them with regard to their tasks and their duties
towards the work assigned to them (Munns & Bjeirmi, 1996).

value to their money.
Property owners: - Every construction industry needs to communicate with the property owners
with regard to the planning and profits on the investments. The knowledge sharing of the plans
and the processes is very important between the construction industry and property owners.
Shareholders: - The need of the shareholders is to have the full knowledge about the operations
of the Australian institute of the building (AIB) so that they will be able to understand about the
current situation of the business as well as to calculate the profits on the investments.
Environment: - the internal and external environment of the construction industries needs full
attention as the main focus is on the waste management and the proper utilization of the

Knowledge Mapping
Before entering into the knowledge mapping, it is very important to understand the needs of the
company and then identify the knowledge that is available in the construction industry and
missing knowledge.
There is a two types of the knowledge in the construction industries and all this available
knowledge need proper management as these are an important part of the knowledge mapping.
Explicit knowledge refers to the information related to the external environment of the
stakeholders whereas the implicit or knowledge is the internal to the environment (Azevedo et
al., 2014). This knowledge is related to the employee communication and cognitive skills. It
must be duly shared with the members of the construction project for its successful execution.
The information or the relevant knowledge, if not shared, then it will create the knowledge gaps
which affect adversely the performance of the construction projects.

Functionality of the Construction project management team: The functional roles are played by
the team members according to their skills and experience (Azmy, 2012). The activities of the
project management team of the AIB are management of the knowledge, scheduling of the
project, utilization of the resources, costs and budgeting, controlling of the documents and orders
tracking etc.
Best Role- Project manager
As per my personal view, the project manner is the person who can lead the team as he have all
the skills and the expertise to handle the activities of the project. It is the responsibility of the
project manager to coordinate and communicate with all the members of the project for the
successful implementation of the construction projects. The Australian Institute of Building
opens a many career opportunities for the project managers for their growth in the future. The

project manager has the responsibility to share all the relevant knowledge with the design team,
shareholders, property owners and its employees (Fionda et al., 2016). The knowledge sharing
and the communication strategies need to be implemented by the project manager and these are
the two main aspects of the construction project management.
