INTRODUCTION
Organizations with new and innovative techniques in its business operations able to
survive for longer duration of time and are successful. Sustainable development is define as the
process of development in which the business organization focus on the present needs and
demands of the business in marketplace and take steps accordingly. Basically the primary motive
of sustainable development is to focus on the present needs without focusing on the future needs
and desires. The report is based on the Sustainable development and the influence of key
stakeholders to create positive change within a hotel organization.

different countries are understanding the importance of sustainable development where United
Nation has taken step forwards where they have set goals which requires active involvement of
people across the globe and name it as 2030 Agenda (Sustainable Development Goals, 2019). In
this the key focus will be on environmental sustainability, social sustainability and economic
sustainability. At the environmental level the focus of the people is to take step in order to
prevent the use of natural resources in an inexhaustible manner and to protect the environment.
The steps are been taken for environmental conservation, more use of renewable energies, water
saving and many other things. At social level, the focus of the government is to take steps for the
development of humans, communities and cultures in order to promote the equality and to
distribute quality of life. At economic level, the focus is on equal economic growth where
precautions need to be taken so that they would not harm the environment. Focus is on
investment and equal distribution of the economic resources which will make the other pillars of
sustainability stronger and help in sustainable development. The goals which are set by United
Nation are as follow where the focus is on eradication of poverty and hunger, focus on healthy
life, focus on education and focus on the collaboration between different social agents to create a
healthy environment and sustainable development.
According to viewpoint of Justice Mensah the concept of sustainable development has
been introduced in year 1987 because of increasing population, economic growth and
globalization the environment is effected in the negative manner (Sustainable development.
2019). Hence it become important for the people to find the solutions to the problems which are
taking place due to industrialization and increasing population. In order to achieve the
sustainable development it is necessary to focus on the climate changes, water scarcity,
inequality and many other factors. With the improvement in these global level issues people
would be able to promote the sustainable development and to maintain environmental balance.
According to the viewpoints of Kaysie Brown and Krista Rasmussen the primary focus
behind sustainable development is to improve the quality of human life and maintain the balance
between environment and the needs of people (Sustainable development People, planet,

prosperity in Focus, 2019). The elements which are damaging the environment, there use and
production should be stopped. The production of fossil fuels must be stopped as it is effecting the
environment and steps must be taken in order to identify its alternative. Hence, sustainable
development is a method which focus on organizing society so that it would be able to
accomplish its needs and desires and exist in the long term.
According to the viewpoint of M.M. Shah the sustainable development has now become
essential in this current environment (Sustainable development. 2008). With the increase in the
population, the needs and demands of people are increasing due to which the level of pollution is
increasing. All these factors are causing huge damage to environment hence, it become important
and necessary to take corrective measures in order to improve the environment with the focus on
promoting sustainable development.
Influence of key stakeholders in order to create positive change within a hotel organization
From the viewpoint of Mel Gustas the influence of key stakeholders has increased with
the increasing growth and development of the hospitality sector. The strong and effective
relationship with stakeholders helps in achieving effective results (Stakeholder Relationships.
2018). Hence stakeholders are the one who play important role in the business activities and
influences the decision making process. Moreover they ensures that the working environment
should be healthy and dynamic in nature. The safe and healthy working environment available in
the organization hence employees will be able to perform better and help in achieving the desire
goals and objectives.
From the viewpoint of Steve Milano in context of the hotel organization the key
stakeholders are customers, employees, communities, business partners, etc who play important
role in the activities and the decisions of the companies (How Do Stakeholders Influence

Government and society- The legal compliance and risk management effect the business
activities and operations. In context of the society the CSR activities helps the organization in
marinating the balance between the social responsibilities and the business profits. It is important
for companies to take active participation in various social activities in order to grow and
develop.
Customer relationship management- Companies need to focus on the satisfying the needs
of the customers and formulate long term relations with them in order to become successful. If
customers are satisfied with the products and services of the company then they would always
prefer them over other substitutes and it will help in enhancing the brand image of the company.
Attracting and retaining the employees- The hotel organizations should focus on retaining
its efficient and skilled employees as they know the procedure of company and able to satisfy the

needs of customers. Moreover training new employees and making them efficient is the long
term process which is time consuming process and involves huge expenses.
Vendors and suppliers- It is important for the organization to establish the effective and
strong relations with the vendors and the suppliers. They should be consider as the part of the
business as good relations helps in providing the quality services to its customers and helps in
enhancing the brand image of the company.
Investors and partners- They are the one who are investing in the business and its
important to take business decisions with their concern. Moreover it is very necessary for the
business to establish good relation with the investors and partners as they are the one who has
invested in the business and they always try to increase the sales and profits of the business.
CONCLUSION
From the above study it has been concluded that the sustainable development has become
one of the essential part in human life which helps in meeting the present needs without
compromising the ability of coming generations to fulfill their own needs and wants.
