company recognized for its high-quality coffee. It is a coffee house chain and it has its outlets in
around 80 countries including Italy and France (Lock , 2019).
Starbucks is a follower of a matrix organizational structure. It is examined, that Howard
Schulz is marked at a position of Executive chairman. Below the position of executive chairman,
lies the position of president and CEO. This position is attained by Kevin Johnson. Beneath the
CEO position, lies the position of multiple senior vice presidents, Executive presidents and CEO
of various geographic divisions including Japan (Dudovskiy, 2017).
The major stakeholders of Starbucks are Employees, Customers, Suppliers, Investors and
Government. Employee’s forms the part of its internal stakeholder’s whereas Customers,
suppliers, Investors and government is considered as external stakeholder (Brooks, 2012).
Its code of ethics focuses on values that developing a harmonious culture. Its aim is to
develop a cultural environment that welcomes individuals without any biases. Its values lay
emphasis on business growth as well as individual growth. It focuses to serve its customers with
dignity and respect. It prioritizes being transparent and courageous to adopt new practices to
foster business growth. Lastly, its value is to deliver the best possible by being accountable for
the possible results (Starbucks , 2019).
As a part of internal stakeholder, Employees attains the duty to fulfill the work assigned
to them through effective manner. The customer’s ethical duty is to share their positive as well as
negative reviews. Such step will help Starbucks in achieving improvement and high customer
satisfaction. Suppliers attain the duty to supply the respective products to Starbucks without any
delay. This ethical duty will help in developing better interpersonal relationships. Thus, common
ethical goal of all the stakeholders is to assists the Starbucks to achieve its goals. Investor’s key
moral duty is to help Starbucks during its financial crises. Lastly, Government attains the role is
to help Starbucks to enter the tapped foreign market (Freeman, 2010).
It is analyzed that allocating rewards and developing performance appraisal programs has
a direct effect on organization performance (Ayers, 2015). As a reward, Starbucks has paid for
its one hundred employee education. It has provided free tuition through an online degree

program from Arizona State University (Moss, 2019). Its focus on its workforce growth has
helped Starbucks in achieving a satisfied workforce. Employee satisfaction is also represented in
the figure prescribed below. Thus, it ultimately resulted in better employee productivity. Thus, it
has assisted the Starbucks in gaining better profits (Corey , 2019).
