Economic factors
Starbucks is getting affected due to the on-going global economic recession. The profitability of
the Starbucks gets affected due to the recession. The maximum number of buyers of a company
is shifting towards the cheaper alternatives which are a loss for the company. Apart from this, the
company has to deal with the increase in the operational and labor cost. Due to the inflationary
environment and the decrease in the profitability company might face stress.
Socio-cultural factors
The company believes in delivering the quality products to its customers due to this the company
has to keep the high prices of the products. This is a fact that the company can provide low-
priced products but then the customers probably have to sacrifice with the quality. This is one of
the challenges which are faced by the company. The ethical chic and green customers are
concern about the social and the environmental charges of the brands. Starbucks needs to be
awake of this trend (PESTLE Analysis, 2015). The changes in the customer buying pattern and
preference are one of the determinants that vary from person to person.

expansion of the business so at the time of expansion company should consider that they are able
to fulfill all the legal obligations related to the licensing in the industry (Smithson, 2017).

with the competitors. The company is having 2 main competitors that include Dunkin Donuts
and McDonald’s. Dunkin Donuts started the journey with the donuts and later they started
providing cost-effective premium coffee. Currently, the company is serving its products to 32

market when they introduced iced and flavored coffee (White, 2018). Both the companies are
