This project, part of the MAT10251 Statistical Analysis course at Southern Cross University, focuses on analyzing used car data from Queensland, specifically Nissan X-Trails. The project encompasses several statistical analyses, including descriptive statistics of car prices, a one-sample proportion test to determine the proportion of white cars, and a two-sample t-test to compare prices between private sellers and dealerships. Furthermore, the project develops both simple and multiple linear regression models to predict used car prices based on factors such as age, odometer reading, and transmission type. The findings reveal significant relationships between these variables and car prices, providing valuable insights into the used car market. Appendices provide detailed statistical answers and explanations of the methods employed, including the assumptions made and the variables defined for each analysis.
