Autism Spectrum Disorder or ASD is a disorder that affects development in children.
It bars the proper development of both behavior and communication in the individuals
affected with ASD. It is termed as a ‘Developmental Disorder’ because the appearance of
symptoms happen in the first two developmental years of a person’s life (Wong). However
with the advancement of technology in the medical field, a Precursor Stem Cell Therapy has
been developed for the treatment of ASD to regenerate and restore normal bodily functions.
Almost 1 in 160 children is diagnosed with autism spectrum Disorder. They are
usually exposed to psychosocial intervention. Various psychological treatments like
behavioral therapy and skill therapy programs for parents are required to reduce the
difficulties associated with the communication processes meant for children diagnosed with
ASD. They usually have a positive impact on the children and they are better cared for.
Many of the children might grow up to require support for a lifetime although many
grow up to live independently. Handling people who are impaired for life is a challenging
task that has to be shouldered by people around him or her. They require easy accessibility to
the physical and social environment around them. They have be feel included and supported.
Dealing with this disorder inevitably requires patience and training to facilitate understanding
of the situation the other person is in (sparks et al., 2002). They are even exposed to various
kinds of discrimination and stigma. In reality the support system is inadequate, globally.
The stem cell therapy devised for the treatment of Autism reprograms somatic cells
into iPScs or induced pluripotent stem cells (Siniscalo et al., 2018). These cells have key
action mechanisms that is helpful for ASD therapy. These effects are: paracrine effect (the
secretome tool: cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors released by stem cells and
responsible of repair/restoration of injured tissues) and immunomodulatory properties.

There are countless cases which have received effective amounts of help because of
the stem cell therapy. A 6 year old male child was diagnosed with ASD. He showed
hypersensivity and aversion to sounds. He refused to communicate or hear anything. He
could not follow a lot of instructions and had recurrent bouts of eczema. After the stem cell
therapy, the child showed more compliance and improved. The eczema was brought under
control. Even the motor skills showed improvement. A 15 year old male child diagnosed with
DUCHENNE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY & AUTISM SPECTRUM was provided with
stem cell therapy. He showed a delay in cognitive development, threw temper tantrums,
spoke gibberish, failed and listening and unsteady movement. He even lacked social
reciprocity. After the therapy He showed that he spoke clearer speech, maintained eye
contact, was more compliant and could be easily taught and trained (Wong).
Thus, it is evident that the stem cell therapy devised for such complex developmental
issues is proving to be effective. It should be implemented all over the world and thousands
of families can be helped in this way. If the children can heal and lead a normal life, it is a
success that should be honored. Along with psychological treatments, stem cell therapy might
be the guiding light that will now normalize countless lives and help a better future.
