Introduction
The aim of this paper is to provide the importance of adapting stewardship quality.
The paper focuses on the key benefits of Wilson model. The paper identifies the potential
challenges and drawbacks of Stewardship model. Stewardship theory refers to human
behavior towards life. To lead a healthy life it is important to make thoughtful decisions on
what is right and what is wrong. This idea was initially introduced in 1993. It is important to
understand the difference between good and bad. Stewardship is a process, which is
responsible of planning and managing the resources. The basic concept of stewardship is that
human itself should take the responsibility of world and must try to take care of the resources
(Krasny & Delia, 2015). The people who follow this concept are self-motivated. According to
bible, the people who followed stewardship believed that there is only one god who created
the humans as well as universe therefore, it is the core responsibility of every human to look
and take care of every creations which includes plants, animals and environment. The
importance of stewardship is that it gives identification to the individuality of an individual. It
is important to surrender everything to the one who created the universe in order to get
recognition. God is the owner of everything sustaining in the universe and thus one should
not consume all of it but should preserve his property for others also. Stewards are the person
who is faithful and must serve the creator of the universe with sincerity.
In terms of business, stewardship can be defined as the role of mangers or leaders to
take the responsibility of the company activities (Larese-Casanova & Prysby, 2018). The
challenges faced by the companies and their impacts can alter the reputation of the company.
Therefore, the business leaders must adapt certain practices to eradicate those negative
impacts.

The Wilson Model of Stewardship will be implemented in this report. The purpose of
Wilson model is to provide ownership quality within an organization. Kent Wilson is a coach
and specialist of nonprofit leadership (Glinkowska & Kaczmarek, 2015).
Wilson Model: Concept
Kent Wilson has introduced an integrated model in which defines the steward
leadership. Kent Wilson controls the non-profit leadership organization. The concept includes
that the leaders can never be owners but must act as trustees or stewards(Goff et al., 2017).
The resources must be managed so that the creator’s objective must be achieved. It is
important to understand the rights of the stakeholders. It is required for every leader to act as
stewardship in order to ensure that people are doing their job effectively. The leader who
practices stewardship understands that any resources are foreign and not to be considered as
own. The steward leader grows a positive relationship with creator so that they can
acknowledge the aims and objective of the stakeholders. The leaders take the responsibility of
supervising the resources and account the relationship with the holder. The model provides a
vivid understanding that the work of steward is little bit similar tan the servants work. The
people who practice this consider themselves as a servant of god. According to Christian
stewardship, one must shape themselves to serve the creation of god in order to redeem
themselves (Luyt, Brécho, Trouillet & Chastre, 2014).
The steward leader feels privileged of being a part of nonprofit organization. The
leaders have freedom to control and mange the resources. According to (Guerrero, Mcallister
& Wilson, 2015), the work of the steward leaders is as good as the managers who will act in
the best interest of the owners. The behavior is pro organizational and collected. The concept
focuses on the structure that help to empower rather than to control. The Wilson model

outlines the human behavior of satisfying the needs. The model provides a framework for no
profit management. The stewards were required to do the task of the managers on behalf of
the other. This concept gives an outstanding approach to lead the business. Kent explained
the model through the perspective of CEO of a non-profitable organization. It is primarily
important to prepare the mindset that no job is small. Every manger must assist those tasks,
which is for the staff. It is required to understand the difference between the owner of the
organization and the stewards (Morris, Wilson & Kelly, 2016). Kent advised to organize a
meeting regarding then see and e who must be the employee who is the stakeholder of the
organization. The answers must be recorded so that every individual and see and provide
their opinion (Doernberg et al., 2018). A list must be prepared in order to keep a record that
who is managing on the behalf of whom. There can be people who must be having
difficulties in preparing the list therefore; they should be encouraged to interact with the team
members. After the list has been prepared, the person should read those aloud so that the team
members could add the team members to can add extra details if required. The employees
then needs to write the stewardship declaration, a small paragraph to ensure that the task has
be completed wisely. Finally, the person has to post the statement so that other employees
can review the post and share the opinion.
Benefits of Wilson Model
The model helps the business to undertake an integrated approach for the well being
of the business. The primary function of the Wilson block model is to provide the assistance
to connect the business with the stakeholders. It also redefines the role and importance of
stewardship in enhancing the quality linked between the organization and society.
Stewardship preserves the ability of the business to produce social and economical values of
time (Neubaum, Thomas, Dibrell & Craig, 2017). The Wilson model provides a strong
relationship between mangers and the firm and thus the steward protect and maximize the

wealth of the shareholder through firm performance. It is important to understand the
difference between servant leadership and steward leadership. The strategy used by servant
leadership is to serve a person at highest priority so that all the needs are fulfilled whereas
steward aims to manage the growth of resources (Wilson, 2016). However, there are certain
similarities between steward and servant but there are also some significant differences,
which should not be confused. Whereas the servant leadership failed to explain the
organizational role of leadership, the steward leadership explained them in a good manner.
Drawbacks of Wilson Model
There are several drawbacks that a leader might encounter while implementing the
Wilson model. The model is explained in such a way that a distorted idea is depicted which
makes the model unrealistic. The deficiency of empirical evidence makes the model hard to
understand. The model also fails to explain the relationship between the managers and the
owners. It might be hard to find the funds for the stewardship organization. The main
drawback of Wilson model is that a responsibility of a chairman is to be substituted by a
CEO(Wilson, 2016). The model is also over rated and over simplified. There are several
obligations that a leader might get struck into while implementing the model. However, being
the most popular concept, the framework of Wilson model fails to clarify its objective. It is
important to examine the role of leaders in employee management and the motivation support
offered to them.
The organizational setting can help in supporting any organization with information.
It is required to set organizational goals in order to identify the position that the company will
reach in few year. It provides direction and enables to overcome any challenges. A specific
structure must be implemented in order to support the mission of the organization. Positive
behavior will help in analyzing the ethical issues in the organization.

The paper further concludes that the Stewardship model can provide a revised
structure of the organization. his helps the leaders to easily cope with the challenges faced by
therefore the non profitable leadership will be benefited by the Wilson model as it provides
all the important skills required to explain the challenges faced by them. The stewardship
model is very beneficial for the organization as it provides a good ideology of leadership
qualities. Any person at any level in the organization can practice the Wilson Model theory.
Recommendation
Stewardship allows a person to give all of his resources with happiness and joy. It
gives a joy of enjoying and clarifying what a person is seeking from life and the path he must
follow. The various difficulties faced by the organization while implementing the Wilson
model can be assed. Sometimes, it can be difficult for the members of the enterprise to adapt
the new changes within the organization (Braxton & Ream, 2017). Thus, it is important for
members to understand the vision of the model properly in order to execute them. There are
four stages of inheriting stewardship that must be developed. The first stage is accounting,
second stage is known as sustainability, the third stage is growth and the final stage includes
optimization.
