Introduction
Stewardship model is theory that is used by managers for managing of assets that they
possess as their prop. The managers that implement Stewardship theory gives more value to
cooperation in between the employees of business organization rather than defect pointing.
This system helps in better team performance. This insists the fact that manager of
business organization is well concerned with performance of employees who are being
managed by him or her. This report will discuss about Stewardship model that is stated by
Wilson. This theory was stated by Wilson in year 2016. This report will provide a discussion
regarding reasons of choosing this model over other Stewardship model. This report will also
discuss about the strengths that are present in Stewardship model that is being stated by
Wilson. This report will also state weaknesses that are present in the model. This report will
also discuss about an organization that can use this model.
Discussion
Stewardship model deals with efficient management and development of the
organizational. The manager and leader of organization is considered as non-owning
steward servant. In this case the entire process is looked after by manager himself despite
being the fact that amount of profit will not be provided to them. The managers are
functional in order to help owners of the business in gaining their objectives. 5 aspects are
taken inti consideration in case of properly defining stewardship leadership model. The
aspect that is taken into consideration includes efficiency and growth as their sole purpose.
Increasing efficiency in functioning of business organization is considered as the main
objective of managers of the business organization. Despite being the fact that managers
might not be owning business but are responsible for success of business organization. The
management of resources as well as individuals functioning in project are main

responsibility of the leader. The leader who will be managing entire project will not be
owning any object in project. In this model of steward, a leader is depicted as a servant.
Achieving goal that is set by the owner is considered as sole target of leader. Steward
leader must be united with employees with whom they will be working with. A steward
leader must also be cultivating proper culture. Steward leader must also seek in improving the
employee skills who will be performing. Enhancing the powers of employees are the major
role of Steward Leader. The leaders that follows Steward Model are caretakers of entire
business processing. Steward leaders create organizational consistency and witnesses the
growth of business organization along with the employees of organization.
Justification of choice
With the help of the Stewardship model of leadership that is stated by Wilson,
proper understanding of shift in leadership qualities will be stated. With the help of stated
alteration in the leadership qualities, a better blending inn between a manager and a leader
can be formed. With help of proper blending of a leadership quality as well as that of a
manager helps in better functioning of the business organization. This system helps in better
management of the companies that are traded publicly (Glinkowska & Kaczmarek 2015).
With the help of model identities main advantage that is provided to business organization
is that the employees of business organization will be provided with a lot of benefits and
importance. This is one of major reasons that on using of this model, employees of business
organization get motivated and functional process gets more efficient. Better communication
can be established in between the employees of organization in case of using Steward
leadership model. In case using of Steward Leadership model is used main advantage that
will be used includes better relationship establishment in between employees of the
organization and the manager. The leader also takes point of view of employees of the
organization which helps in increasing innovation of the functional process. This ensures

circumstance that administration of occupational dispensation will be exaggerated in a
constructive manner. Proper scheduling of professional tasks can also be performed with
help of better communication with the employees of the organization. With assistance of
entire dispensation main advantage that will be gained includes better understanding of
employee requirements and fulfilling the same (Blanchette et al 2018). With the help of
proper empathetic of requirements stated by employees can be kept content and this will help
in retaining employees. Wilson states that leading and influencing people is one of most
important aspect that must be taken into consideration. Despite not owning resources,
performing on behalf of the owner helps both business owner and leader in charge. With the
help of proper understanding employee needs is the main advantage that will be gained is
that functioning of process will get better and analysis process will help in better completion
of project that is to be performed as per resources that will be provided.
Application of the model in organization
Tom’s Maine is a business organization that uses Stewardship model. With the help of
Stewardship model proper understanding of ingredients that helps in development of products
that are healthier in nature. With this prospect the main advantage that will be included is that
goodwill of Tom’s Maine will be maintained and hence management of projects get better.
The ingredients that are used in manufacturing of the products are kept in mind that they meet
the quality measure and hence stay sustainable. This will help in increasing the efficiency of
the manufacturing process.
Benefits and Challenges
Benefits that will be gained with help of this model are as follows: -
1. Team Building: In this case team building gets easier with the help of Team Building.
The leaders use autocratic style servant style of leadership (Craig, Dibrell & Neubaum 2015).

This leadership mainly focuses one management of entire business prospect with help of
team development. Alienation and discordance have been major reason of improper focussing
of project. Developing unique skill has been one of major terminologies of this leadership
style (Kim, Lee & Yang 2015).
2. Achievement rate is very high. With help of achievement rate that is provided by entire
section main advantage that will be gained by business organization includes better
development of employees individually as in this kind of leadership, proper space is provided
to the employees to grow as an individual. Every employee can make their own choices in
decision making. This led to management of entire project is performed with higher
contingency.
3. Managing Change: Managing change in an efficient manner is also a major benefit in using
of Stewardship Leadership model (Balakrishnan, Malhotra & Falkenberg 2017). Employees
can manage their own goals and make their own prejudice for the functional process.
4. Satisfaction: the most important aspect that will be taken into deliberation embraces the
circumstance that employees of business organization will be having higher satisfaction. This
higher satisfaction will include better management of the project as per the functioning of
system. This process ensures that management of project will get better and the result that
will be obtained will be very efficient (Sartelli et al 2017).
The major weaknesses that are present in the system are as follows: -
1. There is a lack of decrease in potentiality in processing of relationship in between owner
of the project and leader which has been in charge of entire project. This is the main
reason that job definition is not provided in a proper manner (Silva & Krasny 2016). This
ensures fact that management of project gets affected in a negative manner as per dilemma

in between decision making of owner of business and the leader who is in-charge of
business that is owned by someone else (Lavoie & Malpas 2015).
2. Role definition inefficiency has also been one of major weakness of this process. This is
one of major reasons that functionality of project is affected in a negative manner.
Dilemma in understanding of outcome of the project is also another issue that is present.
This dilemma includes aspect that the expected outcome of the owner of project and
expected outcome of leader and manager of the project might vary (Nguyen-Ha et al 2016).
This will ensure fact that understanding of project requirement also stays as a major concern.
Organizational Setting: The organizational setting that have been used is that of my
office.
Conclusion
From the above discussion it can be concluded that management of project will be
performed with high efficiency in case of implementing Stewardship model of leadership.
With help of this leadership model the main advantage that will be provided includes fact
that the leader who has been appointed functions on behalf of the owner and this helps in
increasing efficiency of business model. Despite the advantages that are present in
business system there are a lot of issues present in this model. This model faces sever issues
in definition of job description. This leads to fact that the project that is being managed gets
affected negatively. This negative effect on project is not well accepted. Despite these issues
that are present this method is considered to be one of most successful leadership model.
