There are several kinds of research methods that are available for the purpose of using in
order to collect the most effective and the precise kind of data and out of the same it is the
discretion of the researcher in accordance to the research topic to decide on the kind of method
that is suitable for the completion of this paper in an effective manner. It is seen that the current
paper looks to determine the use of performance measurement system in the public sector in
order to assess the degree of performance given by the public sector organization. It is seen that
in order to have an understanding of the performance that is provided by the public sector in the
current time period, the operational activities of this sector along with the satisfaction gained
from their services by the customers need to be known. In order to have an idea about the
responses and the opinions of the customers with respect to the performance of the public sector
and the performance measurement, a survey analysis is essential with the help of which the
responses of the customers along with the responses of the public sector employees can be
collected with the help of which the preciseness and the effectiveness of the measurement system
of the public sector can be known (Lewis 2015). The deliverance of customer satisfaction is one
of the fundamental things that is desired by the companies and therefore assessment of the
performance system is essential for the development of a better work environment.
The process of survey analysis is undertaken with the assistance of a questionnaire with
the help of which the selected respondents would be asked questions in accordance to the topic.
The questions that would be constructed are close-ended questions and these kind of questions
are desired by the respondents as this eliminates the chances of the sharing of the personal
information and thereby the respondents can answer to the questions related to the concerned
topic in an effective manner by just clicking on the option they feel are ideal (Brinkmann 2014).

The questionnaires that are constructed are forwarded to the respondents with the help of
electronic mail and thereby the respondents are asked to fill up the questionnaire and revert back

filling up of the questionnaire would be done in an effective manner and the process of data
analysis can be commenced with immediate effect.
Interview questions are even prepared for the managers of the public sector organizations
and these questions are open ended ones where the managers are asked to express their opinion
on the performance measurement concept in the public sector and the ways in which the process
can be developed or has been helpful for the improvement of the performance level of the public
sector firms (Bozkurt et al. 2015). This research method is ideal in accordance to the concerned
topic as it would determine the results that are desirable from the point of view of the researcher.
