Leading as a General Manager
Identify which management tactics and strategies you will implement to meet your
strategic goals for each of the stakeholders, departments, or business functions impacted by
your plan: MBO, MBM, single-use or standing plans, competitive advantage, contingency
planning, building scenarios, crisis planning, and innovation.
To meet the strategic goal one, the standing plan strategy will be used to create a collaborative
and accountability environment. This will be through training and empowerment of both
employees and leadership to improve teamwork, collaboration and accountability levels in the
organization. Training empowers people with skills needed to overcome the strategic challenges
being faced by the organization thus increasing efficiency and collaboration. On the other hand
goal two will be achieved through building scenarios which entails an analysis and
understanding of the current and historic trends to describe future events (Bradfield, Wright,
Burt, Cairns, & Heijden, 2015). This means that the nature of hiring employees to meet the
staffing needs of the organization needs to be based on an analysis of where the organization
wants to be and how it will meet its needs.
Provide an explanation of how you will apply managerial decision-making methods
throughout your action plan.
To manage the decisions that need to be achieved in the organization, strategic analysis will be
used to determine the best outcome that fits the needs of the organization. Papulová & Gazova
(2016) suggest that strategic analyis allows management to gather facts from the business
decisions that exist before deciding the best action to take. This means that management relies on
the previous and current information of the implementation process before decisions can be
made.

Which business functions will be impacted by your action plan? What tactics will you use
to manage implementation across business functions? What can you do to enhance
collaboration/cross-functionality to ensure the success of your plan?
The business functions that will be affected are the human resources, finance and strategy. Since
the strategic goals entail the development of a better employee system, then it means that the
human resource system will be affected as the business seeks to improve its human resources. On
the other hand, the strategic and the finance departments will be affected through the need to
plan for the financial resources needed for the organization and how they will be implemented
within the organization. To implement the action across the organization, business planning
meetings and focused group discussions will be used to determine the best way for spreading the
changes within the organization. To achieve collaboration between the different organizational
areas, the leader will have to lead by example so that others can learn how cooperative
environments look like and how to deal with the issues that affect the organization.
Identify leadership strategies you plan to implement throughout the execution of your
action plan. In particular, explain which strategies you would implement to foster team
collaboration among the multiple stakeholders who must collaborate to successfully
implement the plan. Why do you think these will be successful?
When managing different organizational strategies, excellent communication skills, team
building and problem solving skills are important in managing the strategy. Communication
entails sharing information from one source or level to another. In this case, this will be achieved
through proper communication strategies that will allow the leaders to plan and develop the
required business processes. Team building is important is ensuring that the different levels of
the organization work together to achieve the required business processes (Shenha, 2015). This

means that leaders must build the best teams that reflect the needs of the teams that they are
working with. On the other hand, problem solving entails the ability to handle different problems
that arise every time when people are working together to achieve the required needs. This
means that in a strategic implementation environment, the leader requires problem solving
competencies to develop the best business environment that reflects the needs of the
organization.
