TASK 2
Reflective writing
Introduction
Reflection is known as the practice to reflect upon own actions and decisions so that their
learnings can be incorporated in improving the future actions (Varlejs, 2017). For continuous
professional growth it is vital to reflect upon practices and actions so that gaps can be identified
and overcome.
Learning gained
The completion of module and part 1 gave me valuable insight about the subject as well as
academic concepts. I learned that academic and professional writing is quite different from the
verbal or routine communication methods. I got a chance to understand different concepts such
as plagiarism, reference styles, critical analysis and decision making. For completion of pat 1 I
conducted a research on topic workforce planning. The task was very helpful in making me
understand about the concept of workforce planning and different aspects related to issue. I also
learned that research skill and ability to gather, retrieve, compile and evaluate huge amount of
data into meaningful summary. For this purpose, I also employed communication and technical
skills.
Importance of learning
The learning and acquisition of different types of skills during the assignment and module
has been very helpful for my professional and personal growth. The learning of technical skills
will not only help me in effective use of technology for academic purpose but also in personal
development. Technology is playing an important role in one’s life and have become an integral
part of routine (Özer, Can and Duran, 2020). Thus by learning technological skill I can make my

The learning and acquisition of different types of skills during the assignment and module

will not only help me in effective use of technology for academic purpose but also in personal
development. Technology is playing an important role in one’s life and have become an integral
part of routine (Özer, Can and Duran, 2020). Thus by learning technological skill I can make my

work more efficient and productive. I also learned analytical and decision making skills in the
module thus in life whenever I will require to make quick and crucial decisions I can use my
developed skill to critically assess the pros and cons of the chosen decision and can act
accordingly. The communication and team work skills developed during the module are helpful
in making my social presence strong. With effective communication I can socialise very easily
with my personal and professional network so that I can interact with people and can enhance my
networking. It will help in gaining more knowledge and to access more opportunities.
Future implications
The knowledge and understanding which I acquired I this course and project completion
will prove to be highly useful for my future academic courses. As I am well aware with the key
terminologies and concepts of academic writing, note taking, reference styles, critical writing
and various academic and professional skills I will be able to successfully complete all my
research work with greater efficiency and time management. For my future university challenges
I will be able to cope up with more creative and sustainable ways of solving problems. In
addition to the academic benefits the skills learned in this module also act as driving force in
preparing me for professional challenges. For instance, professionally I may need to work and
collaborate with different team and may also require to solve complex problems. However,
completion of module tasks demands for great research and team work. It is not possible to
accomplish various tasks without any support or team collaboration. Thus experience to such
work and objectives as prepared me in advance about the challenges which I might encounter in
future in my profession or higher education (Mazzotti and et.al., 2018). The analysis of skill
learned can also serve as the basis for developing plans of professional development such that I
can identify the skills which I lack and can also give emphasis to the skill areas which are my
strengths.
