Reflection
The main reason why I came to this university is to learn. I was attracted to this
institution because I knew that I would get an opportunity to learn a wide range of concepts that
will be of great help in my entire student and professional life. I must acknowledge that this
course will be one of the most useful courses in my life. The lectures that I attended equipped me
with fundamental lessons that will leave a positive change in me. In this paper, I give brief and
insightful lessons that I have learnt regarding the concept of Strategic Decision Making.
In total, I learnt two main lessons about Strategic Decision Making that I would like to
address in this reflection. First, I learnt about the roles of teamwork and collaboration in the
Strategic Decision Making process. Secondly, I learnt about the significance of effective
communication process in Strategic Decision Making in an organization. I would like to state
that these are the most fundamental lessons that I acquired in this course. My lecturers taught me
that a good professional, leader or manager should believe in the spirit of teamwork. Whenever
one wants to make important decisions, it is important to consult others. That can be helpful in
making informed decisions which can assist in providing solution to a practical problem.
Secondly, I learnt that it is advisable for everyone to possess excellent interpersonal
communication skills. Communication is a way of expression. It can help individuals to share
information and get to establish cordial interpersonal relationships. That is necessary in an
organization in which there are many people. Team play and effective interpersonal
communication are essential stills that must be nurtured in everyone because of the significant
contributions they play in the Strategic Decision Making process.

REFLECTION 3
Team play and effective interpersonal communication are great lessons that are valuable
to me. I was justified to spend my time learning them. I have no regrets spending my precious
time to learn about these skills. They mean a lot to me both as an individual and as a leader.
Meaning, these skills can prepare me to be an ideal professional who can be relied upon to serve
as a leader. I will not leave these skills to go into a waste. Rather, I will do everything in my
capacity to put them into practice. When I will get an opportunity to serve as an employee, I will
try my best to be a real team player and an effective communicator. I will have to be a
disciplined, respectful, patient, and focused employee who is ready to exercise team work at all
times. I will never pretend to be a know-it-all who autonomously-does everything. Instead, I will
have to collaborate with my team members-both colleagues and seniors at all times. I will have
to do this by consulting them and seeking for their pieces of advice whenever necessary. I will
also have to be a good communicator who makes a proper use of critical listening and cross-
cultural communication competencies like respect, understanding, tolerance, and appreciation.
