medium goals (Zaid, Jaaron and Bon, 2018). The main goal of strategic human resource
management is to boost corporate productivity and ensure a culture that encourages creativity
and relentlessly pursues a competitive edge.The strategic management process ensures the future
that have far-reaching and long-term implications. An incorrect strategic decision might result in
severe consequences that are extremely hard, though not inconceivable, to reverse. HR's
function is evolving in case of the strategic human resource management. This report will focus
on the Marks and Spencer organization which is established by the Michael Marks and Thomas
Spencer by the 1884. This organization is providing their products and services to most of the
abroad counties. It is analyzed that HR has evolved from a support function to a partnership in
helping businesses achieve its objectives. Expanding above managerial functions like payroll
processing is part of a strategic HR approach. In context of companies, strategic human resource
management is considered as the administrators must instead consider how personnel will
contribute to the organization's growth in a broader and much more in manner. The main concern

and profitability of the organization. In order to complete this research, Marks and Spencer
organization is containing which is most popular organization that can offering the verities of
goods and services so that organizations can reach large number of customers. The primary

provide information about the research method and strategy that are adopted by a researcher to
undertake an investigation in more systematic manner to meet the set objectives. The research
methods and approaches which are proposed to undertake current study are listed and discussed
as below:
Research philosophy- there are four main type of research philosophy comprises of
positivism, interpretivisim, realism and pragmatism out of which making use of positivism has
been proposed for current study as it leads to a more systematic as well as practical set of
investigation to effectively achieve the set objective.
Research Approach- the two main types of the research approach comprises of the
deductive as well as the inductive set of approaches out of which one has been applied by the
researcher based on the context and nature of the study. Making use of the deductive approach
has been suggested and proposed for current study based on the topic of the importance of
strategic human resources management and the impact of introducing new processes in training
and development as it supports effective testing and scanning of collected facts (Sachs and et. al.,
2019).
Research strategy- There are many forms and types of research strategy that comprises
of action research, experiments, observation, survey, interview, etc. out of which making the use

research method out of which the qualitative tend to be more time consuming in nature and
complex. Therefore, making use of the quantitative nature of study has been proposed for current
study based on strategic human resource management as it supports easy set of collection of data
in numeric terms also supports effective presentation and analysis of collected facts (Au-Yong-
Oliveira and et. al., 2018).
Research equipment and instrument- use of questionnaire has been made as research
instrument which supports easy collection of data from a larger number of participants.
Data collection and analysis- use of both primary as well as secondary sources of data
has been applied within current study as primary supports first hand authentic information while
secondary leads out a base and framework for further investigation. Collection of primary data
will be made through questionnaire while secondary data would be reviewed from online article
and journals. Analysis of primary data would be made through tables and charts while secondary
data is analsysed through systematic literature review (Masri and Jaaron, 2017).
Sampling- a sample size of 51 participants has been selected from the employees of
Marks and spencer with the help of random method of sampling.
Ethical consideration and limitation- the access to collected data is only provided to the
researcher and tutor to maintain the authenticity and reliability of facts, Further, application of
BERA code of ethics has been made to meet set ethical consideration. Along with this, data
protection act has been also applied to maintain the reliability and safety of collected
information.
