Atlassian has been explained. Other than the organisational structure, operational problems
experienced by company have been discussed. The system acquisition method and flow chart
of sales procedure have been explained in this task. The report also includes identification of
control problems and frauds possible in the system. Along with this the paper also explains
the development and adoption of accounting software packages and current market size.
Further the leaders are identified in the market which can give company competitive
advantage. Finally the challenges faced by customers in accounting software packages have
been explained along with the relevant recommendations.

Atlassian is an Australian enterprise software company. It is award winning company which
helps innovators to plan, build and launch software. The company was established in 2002. It
is one of the leading tech companies around the globe. Atlassian is provider of collaboration

Due to globalisation, selling software internationally is becoming important for the company.
There are enormous issues faced by Atlassian while dealing with other organisations such as
inefficiency and delay in work within the organisation (Arvidsson, Holmström & Lyytinen,
2014). The company operates globally and as result several operational issues are faced by
company in the competitive world. The operational issues faced by company in the global
market are:
Language barrier
A leading issue faced by Atlassian is language. The software within the text need to be
translated correctly and pitched appropriately for the operators. The incorrect software
translation results in facing difficulty in navigating through software. The users face
inadequate experience due to this situation. Atlassian has contracted with software
localisation companies to solve language issue. It can help to adapt product in the desired
languages (Maharaj & Brown, 2015). The software localisation agencies ensure that software
is interpreted correctly. The users will be satisfied and capable in using products.
Costs issue
Some projects may be completed in the geographies when the operations become
international. In some cases it can be favourable as it lowers costs for the advancement of

2014). The programme adaptable to the geographic location requires more system resources.
It is burdensome for company to develop appropriate version when it have less experience in
the foreign country. The software will receive poor updates if it is not accurate.

Culture changes as a company move from one place to another. These cultural values have
great role in the success of company. The look of software and the way software is

operations and activities efficiently. Along with the handling of business activities, ERP
system makes possible accurate forecasting. The ERP system offers data integration to
company to transfer huge amount of data each day. It should be observed that Atlassian uses

The major problem faced by Atlassian is complexity of applications and user’s experience. It
affects image as well as sustainability of company. The application should be developed in a

Challenges and recommendations
The accounting software packages and ERP system are instigated by Atlassian to ease
business operations and activities. Along with the advanced software and ERP system there
are some challenges which are faced by company:
Cost issue: Cost is the substantial challenge associated with ERP system and accounting
software. The information stored can be modified if there is no authority to control.
Lack of security: It is noticed that accounting software are not successful to secure data that is
confidential to the company. It can affect the growth of company.
Lack of accuracy: The accounting software and ERP system is unable to install updates. It
does not provide appropriate information which can affect sustainability of Atlassian. The
technical staff is also not available for 24 hours which makes complicated for the customers
to tackle issues (Dwivedi, et. al. 2017). Here are some issues which can help to resolve the
challenges faced by company:
 Modification and updates should be implementing in software such as commercial,
custom software and ERP system.
 An efficient team should be managed by the company who is experience and skills to
understand the challenged faced by company and issues faced by company.
 The company should use new and updated technology for the software.
 Cloud based accounting software system can be used by the company to save from the
negative impact of accounting software (Tsang, 2014).
