Strategic Intelligence and Analytics
Abstract
This study has focused on the four case studies of companies that use strategic
intelligence. Business owners face many issues in satisfying the needs of customers. In this
study, it has been shown that different approaches can be taken to solve business issues.
Strategic intelligence allows companies to gather information about the present business and
identifying available alternatives. After that, the management of organizations needs to select
the best option and implement it. Continuous monitoring of business performance after
implanting any strategy can help firms to understand the effectiveness of their decision. At
the end of this study conclusion and recommendations have been included.

was asked to have a fitness tracker (Ft.com, 2017). Later she came to know that this device is
revealing her personal information. All internal stakeholders of this company can access this
information at any time. As stated by Hung, Shen & Kang (2017), this kind of data gathering
is creating an ethical issue in the business world. Business sectors are bound to follow the
data protection Acts of countries while operating a business. If employers fail to maintain
confidentiality of this kind of core personal information, they can face legal issues due to
their unethical practice of using wearables. Wearables help to monitor contribution of an
employee in an organization. However, it must be done within a certain limit for maintaining
business ethics. Employers must not reveal personal information of an employee to others
and consent must be taken from employees before tracking their activities.
b. There are different benefits of collecting personal data for employers that include
managing performance. As stated by Amyx (2017), regular monitoring of employee
performance helps in identifying gaps. Moreover, wearable devices can be used by employers
to monitor the physical attributes of employees like heart rate. This can help them to monitor
ability of employees. Communication can be established between employers and employees
based on collected data.
On the other hand, collection of information through modern technology can also impact
employees. This can help them to gain proper guidance from management to mitigate gaps in
performance. Personal data like working style can be used to assess training needs of
employees.
c. Different risks are associated with collection of personal data of employees. Collecting
personal data can create legal risks for employers. If data is collected without following the
guidelines then this can impact a company's reputation. On the other hand, the trust and
loyalty of employees can decrease due to this activity. Regular collection of personal data can

NBN
1. History of NBN
NBN is an open access data network project, which was established in 2009. It was
established to design and operates Australia's wholesale broadband access network. In 2007,
the initial planning of this project was commenced and estimated cost is A$15 billion. At
least in 2009 9th April NBN established and Mike Quigley has been appointed as the CEO of
this project. In 2010, NBN called for tenders and 14 vendors submitted proposals. The
business plan for this project was released on 20th December 2010 (Nbnco.com.au, 2010).
Different priorities are included such as design of network and forecasts.
2. Analysis of quality of NBN
The quality of Australia's national broadband network is slow as compared to other
countries. Low-quality services are gained by Australians due to slow fiber to the node
rollout. Moreover, the prices of NBN are high as compared to other countries. Availability
and adoption of coverage before and after the introduction of NBN shows that the
performance of Australia after introduction of NBN is very poor. In 2010 rank of this country
in fixed broadband penetration is 19, which lowered to 25 in 2015 (Techpolicyinstitute.org,
2016). A recent analysis found that 65 percent of regions has a data speed of fewer than 24
Mbps, which is very low as compared to other countries.

9
Strategic Intelligence and Analytics
NBN wholesale solution features like committed rates, low latency of business suits
well for enablers. These business technologies of the next generation will facilitate business
organization thus a competitive advantage to Australia can be provided (Cio.com.au, 2019).
Enhanced service level agreements, which are made between NBN and service provider can
support to ensure quick recovery after any interruptions. This network can help service

other competitors in recent future.

The increase in coverage is an essential recommendation. Coverage needs to be
provided to remote locations that can help to include remote communities with advanced

providers and gaining their support properly. In addition, the speed of the service needs to
be increased. This can help business organizations to conduct operations quickly. Moreover,
