organisation subject to behaviour (Johnson, 2016.). This report is prepared subject to strategic
change in apple Inc. how strategic change is managed by the organisation in respect of operating
the change management and different type of groups remain associated with strategic change.
Alternative approaches are defined in respect of effectiveness of the method of introduction and
the leadership approach taken.
Overview of strategic change in Apple Inc.
Apple is an integrated organisation deals in advanced gadgets, technology and artificial
intelligence. It is a manufacturing company which produces software and hardware and
operating system. It is one of the successful organisation which is specialised in providing
quality and advance technological services all over the world. It has a IOS operating system
which is considered as one of the most effective and secure firewall operating system. This is
one of the organisation which invest in new technology and products every year. It has captures
the huge market ratio in the world.
Organisation was funded in1979, from its establishment Apple have achieved lots of
strategic and competitive advantages. Strategic changes are adopted in effective manner subject
to control and absorb the environmental changes with in the organisation. Steven Jobs and
Steven Wozniack were the founder of the organisation. Basically the strategies and development
were focused around enhancing the strengthen and capacity to develop the software and
hardware. Majorly the strategies of the organisation is focused around software strategies. There
are some strategic changes are defined in respect of developing the organisation structure
flexible subject to market risk.
Company is a market leader in the field of technology and advancements. It believes in
providing the latest and advanced gadgets and software to lead the world towards future
(Herrmann and Nadkarni, 2014). Change strategy played vital role subject to introducing new
product and gadgets in the market. Apple Launched its latest generation product in 2001 named
iPod. This product was launched with its individual software as iTunes Music store in 2003 in
USA and Europe. Apple analyse the market trend and customer requirement and adopted the
change strategy subject to launching the product in unique way. Approx hundred million units
were sold out with in the six years.

strategy led Apple Inc. towards sustainable growth and development.

There are also some strategic change approach can be used by Apple Inc. Kotter and
Schlesigner change model is one of the model considered effective in respect of adopting
change. This model is bifurcated in six parts such as

(Kotter and Schlesinger, 2017). As parochial self-interest, Misunderstanding, Low tolerance to
change and different assessment of the situation. Below are six approaches illustrated subject to

1. Education and communication: this approach is used when the information and data
remain unclear in respect of analysis. It is tried to communicate and educate people about
the change.
2. Participation and involvement: interested people are asked to take the initiatives and

informations are provided to them. It helps to remove the resistance to the change.
3. Facilitation and Support: Manpower and employees has to adjust the business problems

4. Negotiation and agreement: this is considered as a skill to convenience the parties in
presort of change and variations. Mangers and leaders assist the employees that how to
deal and negotiate the strategic changes with in the organisation.
5. Manipulation and Co-option: this is the approach is used when the changes remain
expensive and resistance to change become difficult to adopt. In this approach leaders
take effective steps subject to controlling the situation.
6. Explicit and Implicit coercion: this is considered as aggrieve approach subject to adopt
the changes with in the organisation. Managers and leaders forced the manpower and
employees to adopt the changes.
