foundations of human-capital based competence advantage in which they outline the agenda of
research for exploring the components of cross-level of human capital based advantages.
Summary of Article
Most of the companies enjoy competitive advantage in the global market. According to
the author, Russell Coff and David Kryscynski, the company can enjoy the competitive
advantage by managing the human resources in effective manner. Human capital plays a
prominent role in the growth of any business. According to the author, the main source of
competitive advantage is human resource. the author also drill down deeper to analyze and
identify the individual and level of firms competent which interact to grant some companies
unique capabilities in retaining, attracting as well as motivating human capital for generating
competitive advantage (Coff & Kryscynski, 2011).
Discussion
According to the analyses, this statement is true at certain extent. Human resources are
the capital of the company as they are direct responsible for creating competitive advantage due
to the reason their performance directly affected the performance of the company at greater level,
if employees works in effective manner then it help in enhancing the productivity of the
company that build competitive advantage of the company. The main strength of this article is

they have focused on the important component of competitive advantage however, the human
resources are not the only the single sources for generating competitive advantage. There are
other components as well that play a prominent role in creating such thing (Forrest &
Nightingale, 2017).
In the competitive market, the firm or companies need to concentrate on their
performance and slue to survive in such market that forces the companies to enter in the market
with innovative products or services (Chatzoglou & Chatzoudes, 2018). Therefore, human
capital support t he company to achieve their targeted goals through their effective performance
that made their company unique in such competitive market and help them to compete in the
market in more effective and efficient manner (Obeidat, Yousef, Tawalbeh & Masadeh, 2018).
