Introduction
Professional development is a significant aspect of the post of senior manager for strategic
management in an organization. It is significant for keeping up to date with transforming
legislation and best strategies. There is a need for enhancing personal development through
different sources of information. It is essential to have sound knowledge regarding sources for
supporting available in terms of supporting personal development. For strategic management, I
would require different sources that are discussed as given below:
Task 4: Data sources required for review progress and attaining PDP
Top authority
The best source for supporting own personal development is the top authority. Regular
supervision is provided through training and development as it would help in personal
development. There are some activities, which are provided by top authorities such as regular
formal observation like where manager observes to provide supportive task, professional
discussion (where myself and manger talks regarding work-related subjects, and annual
appraisal. It could be documented and considered into personnel and training records. My
manager would provide instruction regarding how I can enhance my practices (Cottrell, 2019).
Training & research
Regular training and research is an essential source in review and that helps in attaining the
personal development plan. I would like to hire training and development with whom I can
approach for discussing requirements. I can also perform my own investigation in terms of
learning regarding topics that I feel I should understand more regarding from internet and books

would be provided by meeting both with these persons and in a larger group. Hence, I would be
able for performing my accountabilities. It is likely for recorded in some manner so that I have

Leadership skill is competency for encouraging and inspiring set of individuals and members of
an organization with respect to attaining a personal development plan. This competency would
be supportive of the senior manager to give inspiration to their followers and obtain more

in the attention of leaders and they solve it with their single-minded determination. Therefore, it
is a significant thing in leadership competency. It is also significant competency that plays
significant role in my life for making progress through bounds with leaps, however, as a human
being, I always making efforts for learning and enhancing my personal development (Gertler, et.
al., 2016).
Communication skill
Communication indicates interacting with other individuals and it is a significant thing for a
senior manager in assessing the review progress in terms of achieving a personal development
plan. Since, in current times, we all are living in globalized environment so that; we meet with
individuals from different parts of the world with several languages. Under this situation, the
senior manager should be competent to interact with others. This is a significant skill that enables
me to create review progress but I still wish to enhance my competency, and roles and
accountabilities. Due to this source of information, I wish to enhance myself in this competency
for attaining my objectives and goal of my life (Sanoff, 2016).
Decision Making Competency
Decision making competency is significant competency for a senior manager. An individual,
who is competent, can create a prompt decision in any kind of circumstance in order to get
success. Decision-making competence is a significant source of information in review progress
for attaining a personal development plan. It is also significant in professional life because, in a
different situation, we need to make a hard decision in favour of an organization and this skill

Learning and development requirements are significant for extending my PDP. By performing
this, I would make achievement in personal life by bounds as well as, leaps. I would illustrate all
my existing skills together with, I discusses all those competencies that I require for meeting my
responsibilities. I should learn more since I am not highly tough in my competencies hence I
need to enhance myself (Ary, et. al., 2018). Therefore, I can enhance my learning through the
application of the preferred learning style. This learning style could be reflectors since they take
some time for thinking regarding these practices and have some time for thinking before
performing anything. They also take some time for checking and reviving what they need to
learn. In addition to this, it is learned that instant reaction without planning time and are forced
