Introduction
A plan is underway about an event headed by the Waverley Council Event Policy
which includes an exhibition of solar powered appliances and batteries that will help in
conserving non-renewable energy and promote the usage of renewable energy and ensure
sustainability in the long run. This event requires the approval and support of the Waverly
Council to make the event a success and to ensure that more people adopt methods of power
generation that will be much friendlier to Mother Nature and will reduce pollution all the
while ensuring a better life for the future generations. This report lays out descriptively the
alignment this event has to the objectives of the council because of the mutual objective of
welfare shared by both the parties. This report also proved insight into the workings of the
same that will help the council agree with the motives and lend their support for a greater
cause.
Idea behind the Event
‘Sustainability’ is a word that headlines in any event that is being held for the benefit
of people coupled with the conservation of nature. Gone are the days where mankind
depended exclusively on fossil fuel for the generation of electricity and powering up our
homes. Just like induction cookers replaced gas ovens and wood fire chambers, similarly,
solar appliances, cells, panels and batteries are the new future when it comes to powering
homes and certain public places. It is also to be considered that thermal power requires
breaking down of natural fuel by burning or heating them that in turn causes a lot of pollution
(Kreider & Kreith, 1981). Pollution is the trigger for climate change because these emissions
are noxious gases, not only are these gases harming the environment, they also cause harm to
humans as humans inhale these gases and are often afflicted by lung or skin cancer because
of the toxicity in the air. Solar appliances are results of fantastic technical innovation that are

both effective, cost effective, resource saving, non-polluting and much more efficient
machines and most importantly it is based on an energy that will not easily run out. Thus
these appliances does not just promote sustainability, the help conservation largely and thus
helps in making the future of our next generations better and not entirely hopeless.
Event plan
This event will have two sides. One is to be held in the community halls, which wants
active volunteers. These volunteers will be stationed at the stalls that will be there for direct
sales. These volunteers will be trained by the organization itself as they will be informed
about solar cells, sustainability and about how these appliances work and help save electricity
and help save electricity cost. There will be stalls put up which explains the working of these
products to the people and encourage them to buy them and settle into a more sustainable
lifestyle. The main attraction of the vent will be that it is interactive in nature. This will
enable the people to understand the new mechanisms properly, they will also help them be
accustomed to newer ideas that are much more environment friendly. It is true that a change
for sustainability will incur costs that will be newer in nature and like all change, they are
bound to incus installation cost as well. It is a change that will make people shift from what
had been there for a long time to something that is still not very clear to many. However, this
event will bring about that change, this event plans on informing the people about the new
products that are not only revolutionary but will set excellent examples for other people to
follow.
The second part of this event will be consisting of an interactive zone which will be
held in a lawn, under sunlight. This is to promote the idea that everything seems better under
the sun and that in the lap of nature, life seems more fun. This zone will be made especially
enjoyable keeping in mind that waverly is s residential city and we are targeting families and

family men who are trying to make their homes better. This zone will have various interactive
activities for children to participate in and for elder people to come be a part of. This p[art sis
important to show that sustainability affects all parts of the family and if they are much more
informed about the same, they will urge their family to make sure that they take a step
towards conservation and sustainability s well. This interactive zone is also important
because even children needs to be informed about the crisis that the world is facing right now
and that they should come help. The interactive quizzes will be based on nature and
conservation along with energy saving, where people will be guiding them with tips they
could follow to do their bit for the society. This will give them a sense of involvement in the
matter which is currently very important for children of the world to know.
Inclination with the Council
The council is what the community looks up to. The council is the nod that this event
requires for people to realize the gravity of the situation as the council, has for so long, and
made sure that Waverly is not faced with humongous issues that can rattle families. They ah e
always looked forward to measures that came be taken to make sure that the community is
not faced with countless issues that tend to eat into the lives of the residents. The council
recognizes the problem of resources depleting to almost nothingness. The council has also
been active in spreading awareness about these issues and making sure that families take
active part and come together to solve these issues. The council will find a much needed
solution in this event to energy crisis. They will also be able to install the appliances in public
spaces and reduce electricity consumption by streetlights and other utilities that requires a lot
of electricity. The council is also keep on making sure that the next generations of the
residents are aware of all these issues and this event will actively educate all kinds of people
about the issues. Thus, the council and the event can go hand in hand because both are
inclined towards the welfare of the society. The council agreeing with the event will also help

the people have faith in these innovations that have changed a lot of lives and places for the
better.
Support Required
The event will require the support of the council in spreading the word and
convincing the people to at least come visit. The volunteers required are needed to be young
and within the community so that they can actively spread the word about these appliances.
The youth is the wind of change each society depends on as they are well past the age of
innocence and are aware of the reality and are also aware of the fact that if people do not take
a step towards sustainability, they might survive long enough to see the earth in shambles.
Thus, the sessions that will educate them about the appliances will give them ideas about how
these appliances work and given how curious and ambitious the youth is, they might even
come up with better ideas to help sustainability and utilize solar energy for the better.
The council will also be instrumental in achieving the trust of the people and
spreading the word about the same. The council can also help the event by letting the hosts
make announcements about the same and share pamphlets and advertisements to spread the
word about the event.
Impact of the Event
It is true that people are now much better informed about the changes in the
environment and with rising cost of living, they want to choose an alternative that will
actually help them save both energy and cost. A resistance to change and investment is
expected but eventually the people will realize what is good for both them and the
community. This event should work as a revelation for these people and as a step towards a
better tomorrow. This event has all kinds of positive impacts and thus should be given a
chance to prove the world the benefits of solar power which is so infinitely available for

everybody. If nature has given us an instrument that will effectively help people in countless
things, it should be utilized as much as possible and should not be wasted
Conclusion
The events wants to work hand in hand with Waverly council for a better future. With
the help of the council, this event can actually be a step into a better and sustainable future
that does not only secure our present but also secures the lives of our children who will be on
this planet long after we are gone. This planet is not just ours and we want the next
generation to savor it too.
