INTRODUCTION
Children are very soft at heart. They understand the language of love and care. Children
with some special needs are to handled very carefully. There are children who are suffering from
many problems. These individuals are to be treated with great care. Martin is the child who is
some issues regarding his mental and physical health. This report includes about the support
materials which can be accessed by the NQF and EYLF. Children have the very strong sense of
identity and EYLF is the central to a child's ability to develop relationships with family and
communities. Learning is very important for the children (Mastropieri and Scruggs, 2013).
Educators uses many methods to make them learn. There are many workplace practices which
are to be followed before sharing information about a child with a specialist. Early childhood
education is the essential part of the children's life. Care services should also be provided to
them. The child had various needs which are to be understood very carefully. This is important to
analyse and decide the services which will be provided to them. These needs can be related with
the childhood education and care service.

SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT 1
Question 1- How can the NQF and EYLF and support materials pertaining to them be accessed?
NQF is the national quality framework is the kind of agency which work in the direction
of providing education and care services which makes the development and enhancement in the
standard of living (Rangel, 2017). They mainly give their service to the children in many areas.
EYLF is the early years learning framework which shows the process to educators in
making children learn in the early years of their childhood.
These frameworks support the child in many ways. They guide the activities of many
educators who are working in the direction of making the children learn something in their
childhood only. These two frameworks are merged or related with each other to take care of the
children in better and efficient way. Parents can fully trust on them.
Question 2- How can educators promote this learning?
Children are very innocent but they have very strong sense of identity. They can clearly
understand the language of love or hate. EYLF is the framework who works as the agency to
develop child's relationship with the family (Majoko, 2016). They also make the child open to
social communities to make them socially active. Children are made aware of their culture
heritage by this framework. All type of education is given to them to make them socially aware.
Educators can promote this learning by using various methods. Those measures are as follows:
 Attracting children- Educators can attract the children towards the learning process by
making it unique. Grabbing attention of the child will make them learn something new.
By this process educators will be able to provide and promote the learning.
 Making the learning environment- This will create that environment in the all the
children will be able to learn very effectively. Learning environment made will grab the
attention of many parents to send and make their child learn the required which will be
beneficial for them in their future career (Siegler and Jenkins, 2014). This is the measure
which will surely promote the learning and will make the work of educators easy.
 Identifying the interest- Educators can try to identify the interests of child. This will
guide them to make them learn about the things which will be of their interest. Children
will happily learn the things whose topic raises some curiosity in them. This will attract

many new parents who wants their children to live their interest. By this identifying or
recognising the interest or likes of the child will eventually promote the learning.
 Motivation- Educators can provide motivation to the children for promoting the learning.
This will inspire them all to learn something new. By this they will be able to learn the
most important information which will make them grow and develop in their career.
Motivation is the factor which can inspire all the children to learn.
 Positive attitude- Educators should keep positive attitude to promote the learning. It will
make all the children happy. Children are very sensitive, they need positive environment
to learn something (Lieberman and Houston-Wilson, 2017). Negative environment will
make them fear from the learning. That's why positive attitude of the educators are very
important to make the child learn something new.
Question 3- What workplace practices would be followed before sharing information about a
child with a specialist?
There are many workplace practices which are to be followed before sharing information
about the child to the specialist. Those practices are as follows:
 This is to be made ensured that the specialist carries the licence of doing practice by the
certified authority.
 Parents should search about the specialist and their working styles on the various fields
which can be their friends (VanHoorn and et.al., 2014). This will make them know that
how efficient and effective the specialist is.
 Behaviour of the specialist with the children should be judged effectively. Child should
not feel uncomfortable.
 Parents should also ensure that the workplace of the specialist have safe and positive
environment. Environment of the clinic should be healthy for the children.
Question 6- Why it is necessary for early childhood education and care services to have policies
inclusion? Provide the reasons.
It is very important to have the inclusive policies in the early childhood education and
health care services. Reasons are as follows:
 Avoid discrimination- Inclusive policies will make sure that there is no discrimination
between the children. Every child must be provided with early childhood education and
care services without any kind of discrimination between them. Discrimination can be on

the basis of gender, status etc. Every child is the same they should not be treated like this.
Children are needed to be taken care of (Cook, Klein and Chen, 2015). Policies made will
make sure that every child is treated equally and with the care.
 Effective services- Policies makes sure that the services which are provided are effective.
Early childhood education and care services are made effective and efficient due to the
inclusion of policies. Nothing wrong can be done because of this. Policies made will tell
about the all the procedure which should be followed while providing the services. It will
make the cited authority to provide the services in effective way.
 Promotion- Policies included in the early childhood education and care practices will
promote them on various fields. Many more parents will attract towards this and send
their children to learn something which will be beneficial for them in all their life.
Promotion is necessary to make the people aware about the things which their children
should learn at the early years of their childhood (Parks, 2014). They should also get
some care services.
These are some reasons because of which inclusion of policies is necessary in the early
childhood education and care services.

Part 1-
Case study
There is a boy named Martin. He has some issue of Autism disorder. In this problem the
individual goes through many emotions and mood swings. In this disease the person remove
himself from the activities of society and behave very strangely towards the various situations.
Martin has the issue of becoming aggressive when he is not able to understand the behaviour of
people around him. To control this behaviour of him his mind is to be diverted towards the other
direction. He understands the language of patience and care (MacFarlane and Woolfson, 2013).
He can be calmed down when someone patiently makes him tell the consequences of the
situation. It is found that he was isolated from the society for almost 2 years. Due to he had
become more aggressive.
It is found by the case study Martin is the child with special and additional needs. He is
aggressive when not been handled patiently. This makes him the child with additional needs. He

behaves strangely in many conditions. Martin was observed very carefully by his parents which
made them understand about his various needs. It is identified that he needs special care. It is
used to make the inclusive plan for him. His parents had discussed with many people about their
concerns and took advices from them. Martin is very intelligent child, he has the ability of
grasping each and every thing very easily. Using the learning tools can make him learn
everything very smoothly. His parents and specialist discussed with each other about the needs
and made plan according to it. They thought to make the positive environment in which Martin
can learn everything very easily. Parents want their child to grow and be successful. That's why
they had admitted their child in the learning centre (Davidson, 2015). Experience of the parents
is also very important at the time developing the plan which will make the child grow. The
service which will be used to fulfil the need of Martin will be according the resources which are
identified by the parents experience. Martin has behaved very aggressively in the learning centre
because he thought this is plan to separate him from his family. It is immediately communicated
to his parents. Plan which is made should be reviewed to check its effectiveness. Loop holes can
be found in the plan while doing this which can be corrected. Resources which additionally
required are identified, this will help in doing all the activities of the learning process on time.
Martin was handled very carefully by the educators. All the people in the centre has created
positive attitude around him to keep him cool in all the situations. Support will be given till the
child will need it. Increase in needs will increase the support too. The strategies which had not
worked for the child will be evaluated and remade. Specialist makes strategies which are to be
implemented according to the directions. They had included many activities which are to be
performed by the Martin (Mikami and et.al., 2013). The strategy includes the activities of
playing indoor games, watching inspirational videos. This is because of need to make the child
socially active. The child had shown some progress which is communicated to his parents and all
the persons who are related to the case. There are some issues which are found in the child
which are discussed with the concerned authorities. Parents are the person who exactly know
about the condition of their child. They can give effective suggestions to handle him. That's why
information about the condition of Martin is discussed with his parents which included child's
needs and care strategies which are formulated and maintained. It is necessary to take the
permission from child's parents before taking any decision regarding him. Parents have the right
to know each and every thing which is concerned with their child. For Martin new strategies has

been made which includes interaction and playing with other children. It is to make him socially
active. These strategies are to be monitored very effectively to know about the issues which
arises in the workplace and can affect the practice. They can even make some unexpected side
effects. Child's disability definitely impacts the family specially parents. Martin's parents also got
effected by this but they had not loosed hope. They adopted various measures to make their child
alright. By getting the effective participation from the child more change can be implemented
which will be beneficial for him (Tuersley-Dixon and Frederickson, 2016). There are many
interruptions which can come in the implementation of the strategy. Monitoring will help in
recognising them and using effective method to resolve them. Leaving martin with the learning
tools had not worked. That's why educator assisted him in the various activities and made him
learn something new. Specialist had taken care of the cultural need of Martin because their main
motive is to make the child understand and learn. Practitioners of the learning centre do not want
to harm the cultural needs of the child.
This is the case study which shows the various needs of Martin which are to be taken care
off.
Needs of the child and these needs are to be accommodated in an early childhood education
and care service.
Needs
Martin is the child with various additional needs as discussed in the case. He is in the
need of being socially active. Positive environment is needed around him which will keep him
cool and not be aggressive (Carter and et.al., 2016). He has various emotions which are to be
controlled. Learning tools and complete assistance of one member is necessary because of
disorders in his mood.
Plan or strategy is to be made to fulfil these needs of the Martin. In the plan various
factor will be included like learning tools, lessons to be given, advices from the specialists,
parents thinking. This strategy will only be implemented after taking the approval of all the
authorities which are related to the child.
Early childhood education
This is the process in which education is given to the children in their early years. It is
very important to make the child understand about the aspects of life, if the child will learn in the
early years then their future will be secured (Grisham-Brown, Hemmeter and Pretti-Frontczak,

2017). This will surely help in fulfilling various needs of the person who is suffering from some
disease or problem. This education uses playing as a learning tool to make the children
understand and learn something new. Playing is the activity which is liked by every small
individual. That's why early childhood education this to attract the children. A child will learn
many things while playing. Other than this there are many tools which can be used in the
learning process. They can be individual learning, watching videos etc.
There are many theories which are used in the early childhood education. These theories
are made for developing the child in better and efficient way. Many skills enhance by the
implementation of these. Socio culture theory is the one which focuses on the social
development of the child. Their main aim is to make the person mentally strong. Constructivist
theory states that learning comes from within. It says that educators should focus on the
developing the inherited knowledge of the children. On the other hand Experiential learning
theory states that some experiences are necessary to make the children learn something. Educator
should give individual learning to the children to make them have better experiences.
There are many benefits which the early childhood education will have upon the child.
Their social skills will be increased, grades in the school will be enhanced, their ability to give
attention to important things increased (Feldman and et.al., 2013). The child will be able to grab
all the opportunities which comes in the way of future career. This experience will help them in
their lifelong journey. Early childhood education solves all the issues which are found in the
behaviour of children who are facing some issue or emotional disease. It will make them
responsible towards their work. They will be able to make their own decisions in the effective
and efficient way.
Martin the child with various additional needs can be fulfilled by the early childhood
education. It will make him learn something from the various learning tools. In the case study it
is discussed that only learning tools will not help the child. Proper assistance from the
practitioners is needed. He can learn many things by the tools which are used. The learning
centre uses playing to make the child happy and include him in the various activities (Collett,
ed., 2017). It will create the positive and happy environment around him which will make him to
divert the emotion of aggression. It will increase his attention towards the positive factors of the
life. Negative emotions will also be reduced by this process. Playing will make the Martin
indulge in those activities which will be helpful in diverting his attention from the negative

things. With the playing child will learn various new things which are necessary for him to get
developed. Continuous attention and interaction of the practitioners in the learning centre will
make him comfortable with the surroundings. Comfort level in the environment is very important
to learn and grasp everything taught to him. Martin is very brilliant child all he need is the
attention of the person who will make him understand everything with the patience. Specialists
of the early childhood education are very patient in handling the children, first they understand
their behaviour and then act accordingly.
To fulfil the other need of the child which is about handling the emotions for this,
practitioners uses the tool of individual learning. It makes them give special attention to the
problems which are faced by the Martin. They will make understand about the various factors by
which he will be able to control his aggressive emotions in front of others. Individual interaction
with the specialists increase the comfort level of child (Martin and Milton, 2017). He will be able
to share his problems with them. It is necessary for the practitioners of early childhood education
to make healthy relation with child, this will help them to understand the various needs and tool
which can be used to fulfil it. Individual learning will make the child to open his thoughts and
talk about various topics. This learning tool is very efficient because it gives special attention to
child and make him learn which is important for him to lead the normal life in the society.
Martin is also in the need of being socially active. He had removed himself from the
society because of being totally withdrawn since 2 years. Educators of the early childhood
learning should do the activities which will make him open to the society. They can use the tool
of making him play with other children to interact and make friends. Proper assistance is very
much necessary because it can cause many undesired side effects. Playing and interacting with
other children will make him happy and help him to handle the emotions in effective and
efficient way (Early Childhood Education, 2017). It will also make him know about the other
aspects of life which he cannot gain by being alone.
These are some facts which shows the needs of Martin in accordance with the case study.
These needs are related or accommodated in an early childhood education and care service.
CONCLUSION
This report concludes about the various benefits of the early childhood education.
National quality framework and early years leaning frameworks are working in the direction
making the child developed who has some additional needs. Children who are very soft can

understand the needs in a very effective manner. These frameworks help the children in making
the healthy relationships with each and everyone. Educators of this sector should promote this
learning style in various fields to attract the parents of those children who are in the dire need of
it. Promotion can be done by using many effective measures. Workplace practices are
necessarily to be followed before sharing information about a child to the specialists. Policies are
very much important to be included in the early childhood education to protect each and every
child from any wrongdoing. Martin is the child with many additional needs. These needs can be
fulfilled by the practitioners of early childhood education by using various learning tools. These
will make the child developed and become the responsible person.
