INTRODUCTION
The report aims to analyse the key roles and responsibilities of a teacher, coach and
mentor towards the learners. In eduction and training, learners are the key people that needs to be
remain happy and acknowledged with basic skills and knowledge. It is essential to engage all the
learners during the process of development and learning for their career growth and
achievements. This shows that, every individuals differs in their learning preferences, attitude
and behaviour which make them complicated. Many learners are identified as cognitive and
crucial learners which require attention and proper cure in the delivery of learning and
information. There are multiple changes in behaviour and personality of learners which impact
due to social, political and cultural aspects. The age, gender and disability has major interference
in learning development of the students. Coaching and mentoring has much significance in an
educational and social care area (Beck, Quinn, and Ariffin, 2020). Different learners has their
different expectation which needs to be fulfil by the person who is responsible for guiding them.
For that instance, this report is going to analyse the different is choosing and mentoring so that a
learner will easily identify whom to approach for fulfilling their targets. Also, there will be talk
about the effectiveness of one-to-one coaching and learning that will enable great emotional,
intellectual and social benefits. There is requirement of key development areas that will lead to
analyse the influence of referral process and at last, own strength and weakness to coaching and
mentoring will be identified.

1.1 what are the responsibilities of a coach, mentor and teacher in relation to working with
individual students.
A coach, mentor and teachers are the true gems in training and education sector. All the
three have their roles and responsibilities which differs as per their area of field in teaching and
leaning. The responsible behaviour lead to get success in fulfilling objectives and goals that will
meet with the needs of learners. (del Pilar García Mayo, 2021). The personal and processional
development of the students depends on how teacher, mentor and coach act and support students.

Enabling student to identify needs: A coach, mentor and a teacher are responsible to
identify the needs of learners. They attend many people and students at a time and every
individual is indifferent in their values and attitude. Therefore, identifying individual needs will
helps in planing better strategies to make them learn and solve their queries. It helps in
identifying appropriate knowledge about their behaviour and learning style. The needs will be

to cover the lectures to continue the process.
Promoting student autonomy: The teacher, mentor and coach always promotes student
autonomy by giving them freedom to learn how they want. It is also a responsibility of the
mentors to make them free for taking decisions, enable new ideas and make them feel listened
and free to ask doubts. This shows that, a coach needs to help Aryan to come out with alcohol
addiction so, they must give appropriate guidance to focus on his skills which make hum
successful.

individual learning needs. Coaching helps in identifying the actual need of the learners which
will help me in meeting needs of areas. Coach have close relations with the learners and they
know about strength and weak areas of students. For that instance, there is requirement of
finding the right key objectives and gaols which will helps in meeting with their needs. A teacher
will influence in giving knowledge and information which are suitable for them. As per the
requirement of key areas like meeting learning needs, it show that the Cassie is suffering from
mental depression and not in stage of learning but she has capability to take part in programmes
and activities. As being a teacher of social care, it is own responsibility to help Cassie by giving
them advice and motivate to join the programme (Marashi, and Sadinezhad, 2022). It will keep
her distracted from her mother's death. Also, in case of Aryan, a coach and teacher needs must
keep him active and his senses to not take excessive use of alcohol and drugs. There is need of
proper consultancy and rehabilitation which helps him to quit smoking and alcohol. In case of
Lissa, the teacher needs to identify her needs as she becomes bored with the sessions. She wants
to gain additional experiences like summer camps, recreational activities to keep her interest in
studies (Masrai, 2020). This shows that, Lissa has different need and learning style which

motivate her to be active and attentive in studies. So, in order to fulfil their need, the teacher
must conduct new activities during session and make it interactive.

It is mandatory to formulate strategies so that individual can effectively learn their
respective courses. Needs and perceptions of every person differentiate on all the levels which
should be evaluated in effective manner. Strategies includes various training and mentoring
programs which enhance the skills of an individual (Timmermans and Meyer, 2019). Strategies
includes various factors like work based assessment and observations which help teachers in
better evaluation of understanding and knowledge of an individual. These strategies promote
growth and development of an individual so that they can achieve their prescribed goals and
targets. It effectively enhance knowledge, talent and skills of learners without any disturbances.
In context to Aran, he chooses wrong path and involved in negative activities like gambling of
drugs which affected his mental health. He was very active in his academic sessions as he always
follow punctuality in order to complete his assignments and projects. He used to get higher
grades in academics but due to involvement in alcoholic activities he needs assistance and
support of mentor. It is necessary that mentor should guide Aran so that he can follow correct
path and formulate effective career goal. Teacher can motivate him to follow the right activities
which can engage his mind in best possible manner. Various career development programs
results in enhancing mental stability so that they can achieve better growth and success.
In context to Lissa, she is highly focused and dedicated girl who wants to establish her
own business so that she can develop her career. In order to achieve success in future she needs
support of teacher or a mentor so that she can learn something new. Coaching sessions and
training courses can help her in achievement of goals in effective manner. Lissa is an intelligent
and obedient girl who always attend her classes with 100% attendance. She possess higher
interest in gaining new information so that they can establish her own business. Teachers can use
skill testing assessment so that she can also understand her actual position regarding knowledge
and understanding (Oxford and Gkonou, 2020). This type of assessment encourages curiosity
level of Lissa as it involves various challenging tasks and assignments. The tasks which are
included in assessment should related to the subjects of the coursework so that she can achieve

grab attractive opportunity with the help of sessions. Mental trauma can be easily assessed by the
support of teacher who can use various resources to overcome negative factors. Mentors can also
guide in personal crises so that individual can overcome various challenges (Bornman, 2020).
Depression can affect negatively on the mental stability of Cassie which requires support of
mentor to overcome this negative situation. Points of referral can be used so that mentor can
relax the mind of Cassie by providing her alternative ways to handle the situation. Due to the
negative situation, Cassie find difficulties in focusing on the sessions and development trainings
which affect her mentality that she could not give her full potential. It is duty of mentor to attract
and influence the mind of Cassie so that she can boost her morale and confidence in effective
manner. Being a mentor, it is important to provide intellectual sessions which results in higher
influencing the ability to understand the positive factors of training.
In context to Aran, he involved himself in drugs smuggling which affected his mental
stability. He was very intelligent and smart in studies who always get good marks but due to his
wrong path he himself create problems for his growth and success. According to his family he
have toxic relationship because of his bad company. In order to overcome these challenges he
have to take support of counsellor and mentor. Special professional can help him in getting right
path by involving techniques which help in elimination of alcohol addiction. Effective learning
techniques can help him in diverting his mind from negative factors. Multi agency approaches

knowledgable information (Malone, 2018). Mentors can effectively communicate with various
mediums which includes offline and online platforms. They can use social media websites like
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and You Tube so that they can virtually connect with each other.
In context to Lissa, teachers use attractive methods so that she can maintain interest in
learnings. Adopting interesting and innovative ideas helps in motivating her in effective manner
so that she can establish her own business (Cathcart, 2020). She was very attentive towards her
study which results in higher grades. In order to engage her, mentors use several resources by
involving technologies and internet which help them in effective manner. Personal skills audit
are also carried out which help in analysing her current strength and knowledge. This results in
becoming more efficient in academics which is positive factor for Lissa.

with their high influence. Requirements of students are evaluated and identified so that
respective actions can be taken in order to improve the abilities. Whereas, students who do not
possess abilities use referral process. Different referral programmes are used in order to
understand the current position and capabilities of students in effective manner.
Conflict of interest: Different perceptions, interest, beliefs and viewpoints of an
individual’s result in barrier which affect the communication process (Murtonen and Lehtinen,
2020). This factor plays important role in influencing the process of referral. Students should
evolve some interest so that they can utilise the process of referral in effective manner. It should
be conducted in proper manner so that individuals can completely eliminate conflicts and issues.
Nature of learner’s requirement: The needs and requirements of learners fluctuate and
depends on the process of referral. The efforts of programmes wasted because of the ignorance
of students due to their behaviour. It is important to understand and analyse the behaviour and
mentality of students so that mentors can arrange programmes according to that. Referral

she can grab from external environment because of her mental trauma. There are various
negative factors which affect the mental stability of Cassie which should be analysed in proper
manner.

so that programmes can be arranged in effective manner. In order to gain extra advantages it is
essential to identify the preferences of learners so that outcomes can be achieved in positive
manner. It can influence the productivity of programme because the preferences of students plays

as it can affect the quality of programme (Mukhtorovich, 2021). It is duty of mentors that they
should measure the time and resources which help in better providing referral programmes.

5.1 Analyse an effectiveness of personal practice in context to one-to-one learning and teaching
situations
Reflective statement- In personal practise with respect to provide one to one teaching, it is
vital to be capable for providing a support within different situation of the learners. Therefore, in
relation to own practice, I have a good sense of understanding when analysing problems of the
student and capable to provide a better solution to them. I have an ability to make my student
talk by taking feedback so that it become easy to identify the problems and help to formulate
strategies in order to overcome such problems (Ahmed, 2021). By taking performance review
and using personal skill, I can identify that which student requires more attention and support. In
the case of cassie, she is suffering from depression due to which she is not able to cover the
course. She is not motivated towards learning due to find the life challenging. Therefore, I was
able to coordinate with her provide one to one coaching in this situation. I would ask about her
problems and any illness which causes her in such drastic problem. Being a teacher I will first
understand Cassie attitude and behaviour and try to bring the session which she found
interesting. It has also identified as per my one to one teaching, I can easily identify my
weakness which is that I lack in managing time form my personal and professional development.
During the coursework, I have identified that, some of key skills lack within me which is to
promote crucial factors such as leadership, administrative and decision making. It will motivate
her to cope up with the course work though engaging by giving tasks, take feedbacks and engage
her in campaign to utilise her time in productive activities (Leiber, 2022). In other situation of
Aryan, he is one of the best capable child and scores best grades. It shows his capability in grow
much efficiency in academic skills. Through my teaching practice, I will encourage him to
involve in good things and focus on his career growth. I will take personal sessions and find out
what are his strength and weakness
5.2 Identify personal strengths and the areas for improvement in respect to one-to-one learning
and teaching situations
It is identified that, in my personal weakness and strength with related to learning and
teaching, I am good in communication when talking to my students and other co-workers. Thus,
this strength helps in learning and understanding about my student’s requirement that assure me
to place the teaching (Mohammed and Daham, 2021). This strength is very effective that is
highly needed to maintain an interrelationship with other people. Therefore, I have a good

leadership ability as well as it aids me to guide my students during a complex situation and
provide a better learning. When cassie go through any mental and emotional breakdown, then I
can decipher their problems by listening their queries and then provide a relevant solution. In my
teaching and mentoring practices, I am a great decision taker to provide relevant solutions for an
individual lifestyle. With respect to my communication skills, I could engage Arya in academic
practice. I am a good listener and as well as a speak though which I can listen to Aryan problems
and make it apart from toxic group. I could also give solution to make his relationship good with
his parents through bringing change in own personality and attitude. Apart from this, I have also
weak points as well which are poor creative skills and time management to manage a timely. It
impacts my working practices that put a burden on my students to submit their assessments when
it is already assigned late. My main weak point is that I have an emotional personality through
which I could not control my emotions.

accomplish their professional growth on a specific filed that is pursued by an individual (Nöth,
2021). Thus, these skills will help me to better assist student I an effective way. Hence, these
