Failure is an inevitable part of everyone’s life but what plays an even vital role is the ability to deal with
failure. Everyone has their own set of strategies to overcome failure. There are four ways in which I deal
with failure. First is letting out frustration. Second is feedback. Third is motivation. Fourth is trying again.
To be very honest, I am not a very good loser. I find it difficult to look at things in a positive manner
immediately after I have failed. The very first thing that I do is let out my frustration. I usually do this my
listening to very loud music. This helps me calm down and even prepares me for the next step.
Second thing that I usually do, I go back to the exercise in which I failed and I try to understand where I
went wrong. For this I often take feedback from the people involved. This helps in identifying my
shortcoming. I do not have a second chance at everything and hence this identification just helps me in
my personal learning.
Like every other person, I feel very demotivated after I have failed at something. If I continue to remain
in the same life condition, it starts affecting other areas of my life as well. Therefore, I start seeking
motivation. I watch inspirational videos on YouTube and read self-help books which help me get
motivated again.
Lastly, I try again after failing. I usually do not give up on situations very easily. Therefore, if I get a
second chance, I get myself motivated, I identify my shortcomings and I start preparing again. I try my
best to improve upon my previous performance. This helps me gain my confidence again and leads me
to have better skills.
