INTRODUCTION
Well being is mainly defined as a positive outcome which is meaningful for individuals in
number of sectors of society in terms with social well-being. It is defined as a state within which
level of individual needs are fulfilled and people are significantly able to live within a
community in a peaceful manner, with number of advancement opportunities (Shrivastava and
McDonald, 2021). Wellbeing is playing important roles for better life outcomes which include
more satisfactory social relationship, better health status, increased in educational achievements
and higher productivity. It has been underlined that well-being plays an essential role for overall
health of an individual and further allow them to overcome difficulties in a successful manner
and accomplish goals and objectives.
Wellbeing in workplace is directly related to employee well-being on their mental as well as
physical health in an organisational workplace structure. Main motive behind maintaining
wellbeing at workplace is to significantly enhance overall level of productivity with happy and
healthy workforce. Present report has been conducted on the discussion of well-being in the
work place inclusive concept associated to wellbeing along with the main issues related to
wellbeing in the workplace. Furthermore, strategies to significantly enhance well-being in
organisational workplace structure is also included in the report.

Explanation of TWO concepts that relate to wellbeing
Wellbeing is playing important role in an individual mental and physical life which help in
increasing their overall level of satisfaction and happiness. The term well-being refers to positive
framing of health in an effective manner. Furthermore, it has been underlined that well-being is
defined as an experience of prosperity health and happiness which also include high life
satisfaction, good mental health and a sense of meaning of purpose. With the help of positive
well-being individual can effectively manage stress in an effective manner. There are basically
five forms of wellbeing which include emotional, physical, social, workplace and societal
wellbeing in terms with workplace. Well-being it is related to developing well-being of
employees or individual at workplace for which organisation is required to build skills in order to
encourage them towards goal. It is mainly inclusive of building their professional skills by
increasing their values and maintaining work life balance by maintaining. Well-being at

workplace organisation can significantly have a motivated, meaningful and focused workforce.
Mentioned below there are two concepts of well-being.
It has been evaluated that, there are mainly two types of approaches related to the with
conceptualizing of wellbeing. The first form of approach underlines their very own individual's
assessment life in both manner which include cognitively as well as emotionally. It has been
alluded to as hedonic well-being (HWB) (HWB) and comprises of continuous charming

an individual but it has been evaluated that well-being is effectively associated to life satisfaction
and happiness (Workplace well-being. 2021). However, in terms with the main issues associated
to the wellbeing at workplace it has been identified that there are number of factors which is
associated to the quality and safety of physical environment, the manner in which workers feel
about the roles and responsibilities climate at workplace working environment are some of the
issues of the well-being in the workplace. Mentioned below in-depth analysis of the issues of
wellbeing in workplace is being defined below:-
High level of stress:
It is the main issue which is affecting wellbeing in the workplace, it has been identified
that work place stress is termed by the Health and Safety Executive as an adverse reaction
individual have to face due to extensive pressure or other form of situations or demand that has
been placed on them at workplace (Shahbaz and Parker, 2021). Stress lead employees towards
reduction in their physical or mental health which lead organisation to face issues in terms of
legal cases that arise from stress related claims, staff turnover, reduction in poverty and
absenteeism and more. The main causes of stress include high workload, bullying, lack of
resources, uncleared job specification, little or no involvement in decisions, lack of respect,
interpersonal conflicts few opportunities for training and personal development and more. Stress
is the major if you now a days in workplace which is affecting wellbeing of individuals
Work-life balance:
According to the analysis of it has been identified that due to an unmanageable workload
there is negative impact on workforce in office as high workload make employees to take their

work at home as a finished projects require long hours to complete. This is affecting their work
life balance and personal relationship on same extent. Some of the employees face many
difficulties and in order to accomplish the targets there is increase in stress and anxiety in their
mental health which is affecting their personal relationships.
Health problems:
Large workloads as well as high level of stress is affecting employees in terms of leading
them to face number of health problems. It has been seen that in most of the organisations there
is a need to meet strict deadline. In order to fulfil this employee, take out time from their normal
activities such as gym sessions and more in order to fulfil deadline. Along with this they also so
shift towards eating and healthy or ready meal in order to fulfil the target. Thus, poor diet, lack
of exercise and high level of stress is leading towards high blood pressure, weight gain and an
bad life style which is leading them to face number of health problems.
Thus, according to the above-mentioned analysis it has been identified that these are some
of the major health issues related to the well-being of individual in the workplace. All these
issues are required to effectively overcome in order to make positive workplace environment and
promote well-being.

Wellbeing is an increasingly necessary as well as relevant consideration in modern
workplace environment. There are a number of issues which is leading employees to face
number of wellbeing issue which is affecting their mental as well as physical life. It is essential
to take advantage of various forms of strategies through which the issues in workplace can be
overcome in a well-defined and effective manner some of these strategies re being defined
below:
Stress management
Due to the increase in work pressure and forced to meet deadlines is leading employees
to face high stress and other form of wellbeing issues (Workplace Well-being. 2017). In this it is
essential for organisation to frame effective strategies for managing stress. With the help of
taking advantage of various measures in promoting wellbeing allow organisation to guide
employees towards healthy wellbeing.

Positive work culture
Positive workplace culture plays important role in which organisations value contribution
of their staff and engage them with success of company. By increasing staff to be truly involved
in organisation success and aim, company can encourage their support (). Along with this, with
the help of effective and ongoing communication and ensuring that unnecessary conflicts does
not arise in workplace and offering opportunity for training and development by encouraging
team work with reward and recognition organisation can take significant measures to reduce
stress within employer. This will help employees to perform their roles and responsibilities with
the help of motivation.
Flexible work hours
In this it is important to emphasize upon flexible working hours taking use of strategies to
reduce pressure and providing positive condition for employment. In this organisation is required
to compensate fairly for overtime and long working hours as if employees perform their roles
and responsibilities without reward and a sense of motivation. Over work increases pressure and
low down their performance. In this with the help of flexible working hours, rewards and fair
compensation of overtime will motivate employees in an effective manner.
Healthy work life balance
Organisation is required to make sure that employees work life balance is managed
properly. In this company is required to respect and encourage healthy work-life balance and
encourage staff to take of time after long working period (Shehawy, 2021). Company can also
provide them chance of working flexible can maintain a healthy home. In this organisation can
offer or take advantage of strategies like flexible time, job sharing and other form of benefits.

be overcome in effective manner.
