ADVOCACY AND POLITICS IN NURSING. 2
In realizing a robust transformational leadership in a nursing organization, I would ensure that
the nurse trainees are taught the basic and advanced concepts. Besides, I would inform them on
the management of any nursing organizations. Example of a professional nursing organization is,
the Australian Primary Health Care Nursing Association (APNA). The associations in its January
2018 came up with some amendments among which are purposes, membership, the meeting of
members, a board of directors, and many others (Staebler et al.2017). The paper focuses on the
steps I would take to support and strengthen an organization’s position on the current legislative
issues.
The organization set an educational standard that is required for one to qualify as a nurse.
This law has helped to reduce the issues of forgery and fakeness of the profession. Therefore, as
a nurse, I would not allow quacks without certification to typically perform the nursing services
to the patients in public. This would help the nursing APNA to gain quality service delivery. The
set examinations are standards, and so by succeeding in them will grant you an opportunity to
register and practice as an approved nurse (Gilmour, & Huntington, 2017). Through this
organization, the board members will be able to filter the operation and maintenance of the
healthcare services done by the nursing trainees.
In conclusion, the professional organization aims to standardize the operation of the
nursing professions in the field. Thus, to monitor the process and the outcome of the activities so
that new nurse trainees and trainers can understand the ground entirely, I would issue license to
help eradicate the unqualified personnel who opt into the profession for other purposes other than
nursing service delivery. In this way, the APNA would gain its full strength, due to the set
regulations to follow.
