INTRODUCTION
Portfolio consist of several topics that are related to the learnings from a diverse area.
There are many different aspects that are used to develop a detail understanding of such related
aspects. It consist of different areas of discussion and there is reflection drawn based on the self

reflection of overall learnings. Present report discusses about the self evaluation and self
reflection according to learnings that took place in class. There were many different types of
skills that were taught in the class and helped in understanding the importance in the life of a
student. After this there has been a reflection based on overall insights that has been gained in
the process of self evaluation based on skill development.
MAIN BODY
During the whole tenure of my class learnings and lecture insights there were different
types of learning that has helped me in development of my overall knowledge base and skill
level. There has been division of skills according to different lectures that were attended. Some
of these skills are mentioned below:
Time management skill:
This is a skill that is one of skills that I have acquired during my class lectures. Task
management is regarded as a process that can be adopted for managing all the assigned activities
of class. I gained the insights that time management is not a one time activity as it keeps going
on in a continuous manner. It helps in utilisation of available limited period of time in the most
effective manner. This skill is going to help me in future for achievement of my laid down
objectives.
Group formation

There are two main aspects of skill formation of teams and groups that is all individuals
that are part of a team must posses high interest in all its activities. This aspects is related to
development of a team in which there are like minded individuals who are willing to make high
contribution towards achievement of laid down objectives. There is a learning that successful
team development is a process that si part of enhancing the contribution made by a individual up
to its maximum level.
Presentation skills
Presentation are a key aspect of every individual in their academic and professional
career. This skill was part of our classroom lectures where I was taught about key elements that
should be part of a successful presentation. The skills of public speaking helps in increasing the
connection with other, increasing the competitiveness of a business, helps in motivating other
and getting a leadership positions. Apart from this several ways to deal with anxiety situations
while delivering a presentation was also taught in class. It consist of attributes such as relaxing,
nit getting embarrassed for any type of mistakes and most important I learnt that I have to show
interest in the topic in order to let the audience develop interest by making them understand the
key message.
Academic writing skills

Academic writing skill is also a attribute that is very critical to enhance the quality of
classroom notes, assignments and exam answers. Writing skulls is helpful in learning about the
ideas and thoughts that has to be reflected by a writer so that overall thoughts can be displayed
clearly in order to help readers to develop understanding. It consist of using right grammar,
punctuations, vocabulary and spelling in a appropriate way. I developed a learnings that writing
can be a cognitive challenges as it once a memory trust of thinking ability and language so there
is always demand of rapid retrieval of a domain specific knowledge from the long run memory.
Value of reflection
Reflection is related to the self evaluation of a individual about how there was a dealing
with a particular issue and being more perceptive about the scenario that took place. This activity
was very productive as self reflection plays a very necessary part in making a person
understanding their level of leaning & insights. The process of reflective learnings has assisted
me in understand the transition that takes place from passive to active. It has also helped in
understand that studying may not necessarily result into learning in all situations.
Employability skills:
After the completion of academic courses and graduation there is movement towards a
professional world where a student must posses enough employability skills to increase number

of opportunities. I developed the importance of skills to increase the employability of
individuals. Some of these were leadership capabilities that can be attained by enhancement of
participation and leading of curriculum based projects. Other skills include communication skill,
learnings skills, problem solving skills, technology, taking more initiative and planning for the
organisation.
Linking words:
This skill helped in understand the importance of linking of phrases and words. Most of
the formal writings have to be organised in such a way such that there is development of main
arguments and ideas such as conclusion, joining of clauses, paragraphs and sentences together. I
understood that each process of writing links one idea with another apart from this there is “and”
that consist of a transition of towards summary, reference, result, time, place, example, “or”
consist of replacement or reformulation and “But” consist of concessions or contrast. These three
aspects were major part of learnings that I developed in this course of lecture.
Reading skills

Reading skills was also a part of classroom activities that I learnt through different
classroom lectures. In this part I developed the learning of different reading styles that is part of
everyday situations. I understood that focus has to be on every word that is in a sequence from
starting to the ending time period. I also learnt that there are several activities that can be done to
make improvement in the reading skills such as choosing of right texts, making use of techniques
and having clarity of reading goals. All this is going to help in coming future period of time.
After I also learnt the importance of assignment of text and the overall importance of learning
that tool place in this course of classroom lectures. I also learnt the technique of notes making
such as importance of underlining & highlight of words, use of key words and then recording
team, development of questions to ensure that there is a active approach in the reading, last is
summarisation all the activities to develop a check whether there has been understand of whole
reading. These techniques are also used for encouragement of active engagement process by
effectively using the available time period. This technique will help me in future to enhance my
level of understand and concentration.
CV writing:
CV is a document that consist of detailed information of overall life achievement,
experiences and qualifications of a individual. I understood the importance of a effective CV in
making a first impression over any recruiter. I learnt that a CV should be able to demonstrate
clearly the potential of candidate to the employer and a scenario that the person is mots suitable
for the particular job profile.
Communication skills

Communication skills are one of most crucial skills that is part of every individual
skill development process. This skill is very helpful as it deals with different aspects such as
making different types of communications like written communication, verbal communication.
Electronic communication etc. in the beginning I wasn't able to understand the process of making
effective communication but soon I realise that use of pitch modulations, connection & sequence
of words, body language of a speaker are some of the major key aspects that helps in creation of
a effective communication process. These key attributes lead towards achievement of higher
efficiency of the conversation that is verbal communication taking place between two or more
than two individuals at a particular point of time.
Cover letter
I developed the skill of writing a proper cover letter. In this part I learnt the rules of
forming a effective cover letter. Such as it must start with a proper opening paragraph, main
body and then end with a single paragraph. This skill of writing a cover letter will help me in
dealing with any type of grammatical errors and inconsistency that might occur in the process of
writing a cover letter.
Plagiarism

It is a illegal activity where there may be persuasion of opinion and review of the
originality of a work. In the academic course I was taught about different types of situations that
are part of plagiarism and how it can posses a negative consequence on individual career. It is
very necessary that plagiarism activities can posses a negative impact on the work done by a
individual.
SUMMARY
One of most significant aspects is integrity that is the extent to which belief, values and
principles are holding the character. In these reports, I described the general impression of
myself and those were really useful and beneficial in acquiring such diverse skills that I might
not have been able to acquire elsewhere. The class lecturers at the university and the weekly
lectures contribute to these skills being built in such a way that I have now gained a lot of trust in
deal with such critical circumstance in a better way. There are other abilities, including
interpersonal skills, plagiarizing and its effects on a student, leadership skills that will enable me
to connect efficiently to draw my character perfectly. I've even made me develop more trust in
engaging with my peers and my coworkers in the future. All these skills will enable me to
express my views and to convey them would be the creation of several more productive
discussions I could hardly do before. Besides this, I was also capable of learning some skills like
writing a curriculum vita that will help me develop my curriculum vitae based on the criteria that
will help me get a great job and then making it more successful. I was also able to acquire the
skill to compose a cover letter that would be expressed in the upcoming job course.
Such abilities can allow me to carry out my assigned responsibilities and duties in a more
efficient way. It would also be reflected of my better scores and would have a good effect on my

academic future. I have succeeded in acquiring a lot of confidence with the way I communicate
and connect with others. This expertise would be really useful in performing my delegated duties
& obligations successfully. It can contribute to a strategic edge in the long term when I carry out
my duties. Besides that, it will also help me develop my character and how I can cope with
potential problems and obstacles in the potential. The presenting skills and the analytical skills
are two key things that will be identified as an ability that will allow me to grasp different
relevant topics and ideas that are part of a student 's overall learning experience and in their
possible course of research to be done. Such abilities also tend to increase an employee's
employability relative to certain employees, and also to provide a person with a competitive edge
in the evolving external situation where there has been a very high degree of competitiveness. So
in concluding manner, I can say that these skills which I learned are not only useful in my
current situation but also will benefit to me in upcoming time period. One of the key skill that
can contribute in upcoming time period is communication that is essential for each and every
field.
CONCLUSION
From the above mentioned points it can be said that there are certain skills that are part of
classroom learnings and can help a individual in development of their overall competence. The
amount of practical learnings is very crucial for a student as compared to academic development.
It helps in career growth and enhancing the overall contribution made towards achievement of
their laid performance standards.
