Experience of Savasana
While performing the savasana for almost twenty minutes, it took a lot of
patience and concentration to keep my mind clear and conscious. I noticed right away
that my back was comfortable once I pushed out on the floor in savasana position.
The only thing I remember is laying down on the ground at the very beginning, during
the whole practice it was a great challenge to keep my mind out of thoughts but no
sooner as I focused on my breath, nothing went through my head. During savasana the
things happening in the surrounding like the cool breeze, the sound of vehicles were
not noticeable. Just lay there and forgot everything in utter ecstasy my body deep and
tingling from the amazing stretches. Even if only for a few moments, how amazing it
felt to just let it all go. My mind got so fresh after the yoga and I was feeling so
relaxed and positive. It would not be wrong to say but after the practice of savasana
yoga I had an out of body experience (Santaella et al., 2014). The fatigue in my body
muscles got relieved and I could feel the blood flowing through my skin.
The experience of savasana was very new and beneficial to me. The mind tries
to resist the relaxation in deep sense and to consciously surrender it savasana can be
the ultimate act (Patel, Nivethitha & Mooventhan, 2018). With the world dwelling so
rapidly, practicing the art of Savasana is more treasured than ever. In the culture
where the value of productivity and speed is greater thus learning skill to do nothing
can help one to become more productive whenever it is needed, and savasana lets one
to learn how they can surrender to halt fighting with time and make investment for
harmony and peace to the compassionate soul.
