INTRODUCTION
Time management is considered to be an important skill that significantly
contributes to the overall success of the students (Cirillo, 2018). This is because it helps
them in prioritizing their tasks and so that they can complete their assignments on time.
Besides this, it can also help them in eliminating the problem of procrastinating things
which can lead to stress, poor grades as well as frustration. This report is based on the
topic “Time management skills have been identified as a vital aspect of student
success.” It includes a background research on the expected outcomes of the research
along with the findings of the research.
BACKGROUND
Time management has been identified as one of the most important skills for
students if they want to be successful. Effective time management allows them to
complete more amount of work in less time. It is not possible to use time effectively if no
proper goals are set by the students. They can benefit significantly from time
management through long-term as well as short-term goals. By assessing what needs
to be done within a given time frame, the students can rate different tasks at hand,
based on their importance. Setting priorities for each day or week can help the students
in achieving their goals as well as objectives (Demirkesen and Ozorhon, 2017). It is a
known fact that no one is able to perform better under stress. For students, it is
essential that they adopt measures so that they can manage stress effectively.
All students want to build a career that is successful and they are able to achieve
their goals as well as objectives in an effective manner (Umang, Bierlaire and Erera,
2017). Effective time management lets in college students to finish greater in much less
time, because their interest is focused and that they’re not wasting time on distractions
(along with social media, for instance. Efficient use of time also reduces stress, as
students tick off objects from their to-do listing. It also can provide a sense of success
from enjoyable desires. For example, they may plan to complete an assignment with the
aid of Friday so one can see friends on the weekend.

Furthermore, by using the use of time effectively, college students can complete
their paintings on time, live engaged with their gaining knowledge of, and have greater
time unfastened for pursuing activities that are vital to them, along with sports,
pastimes, teen agers organization and spending time with pals and circle of relatives
(Gleeson and Richter, 2018).

What is the important of time management skills for students in order to be
successful?
Research Aim
The aim of this report is to analyze the importance of time management for
student success. Another purpose of the same is to assist the students to develop
effective time management skills.
Method
The method used in this research in order to collect data is a questionnaire. The
same size of the respondents is 19. The students in the sample belong to different
backgrounds.
Findings
From the research that has been conducted, it was found that all of the
respondents in the sample were females. While most of them answers all of the
questions, some of them were not comfortable in answering the same. It was found that
nearly 52.6% of the respondents belonged to the age range of 26 years and above,
whereas 36.8% of them were between the age group of 18-25 years and the remaining
10.5% of the respondents were under 18 years of age. A total of 78.9% of the
respondents in the same stated that they feel anxious when the deadline for a task is
due while the remaining 21.1% of them stated that it was only sometimes that they were
anxious. It has also been found that 50% of the respondents allocate up to 10 hours to
studying per week. Whereas 27.8% of the respondents allocate up to 15 hours and the
remaining 22.2% of the respondents allocated only 8 hours to studying per week. 31.6%

of the 19 respondents had a part time job, whereas 26.3% of them worked full time.
Also, 21.1% of them were involved in other activities such as taking care of a dependent
person or child care etc. similarly, 21.1% of them stated that they did not have any job
and were not employed. The findings of the research also included that most of the
respondents sometimes make constructive use of their commuting time. On the other
hand, a moderate number of them stated that they do their assignments and submit
them on time. Lastly, some of them said that they never avoid distraction from high
priority tasks. Therefore, it has been found that time management is a vital component
for the success of students (Gregg, 2018). This is because it helps them in managing
their time in an effective manner as well as make sure that all of the tasks that have
been assigned to them are completed on time.
CONCLUSION
From the above report, it can be concluded that time management is a vital
aspect for students in order to be successful. This is because it helps in improving their
overall productivity as well as help them in completing the tasks assigned to the in an
effective way and well within the time frame. There are some students who are not
aware of the concept of time management ad do not know the importance of managing
time. Various methods can be adopted in order to help the students manage their time
in an appropriate as well as efficient way.
