students a chance to connect with students with similar interests. This website main focus is
to match students enrolled in similar units, interests and skills.

Introduction
The primary aim of this reflection is to show my experiences in the course and my
involvement in the group activity that I was assigned. The course equipped me with the
relevant knowledge regarding website creation, designing and development. Due to the
complex nature associated with website development, our tutor put us into groups with each
member assigned different roles which will lead to the delivery of the intended website. I was
awarded the coding section and ensure the overall development of the site. Ideally, my work
involved putting together the various agreed features into codes to make a suitable site.
Reflection:
Becoming a website developer requires patience and a particular set of skills that dictate
professional questioning, (Bailey 2019). Incorporating observations and opinions from the
tutor, team members and random website developers is just part of the development process
which leads in the creation of a sharp wit that is essential in maneuvering the coding process
in the website design and development world. The designing process is tiresome but hugely a
fundamental step in building a website, (Aronson, 2011). When confronted with coding
challenges, it is essential to think critically about the various ways of maneuvering around the
process. Making my site and taking part in numerous related projects has impacted my
website development journey, a journey that I hope to commit for the better part of my life.
Although there is no particular answer to the requirement of purpose, working to develop

several amazing sites has defined my development as a web developer in ways difficult to
achieve in any other means.
Signing for the course, at least for me, was among the unceremonious triumphs that
illustrated to the enormous amount of work I will have to cover in four months. I joined the
course with a well-established passion in website designing and development but with a steep
knowledge which could not sustain me through the course. I hade to break from my comfort
zone and relearn coding and all other aspects of web design and development. Most of the
activities carried out in the course initiated all the relearning process. My status as among the
honors student in the class allowed me to interact with some of the most gifted web designers
and developers in the institution. The tutor was among the most sort after developers in the
region and his rigorous sessions made me think critically and deeply regarding the structure
and elements of website development strategy. In most of the weekly activities, I learned
refined details of coding which enabled me to develop excellent sites consistently. Most of
the actions required close attention to more information, coding clarity, and close analysis
and synthesis of critical issues. In meeting the class requirements, my previous vague and
formulaic coding skills became sharper and consequently, I became a free-thinking and gifted
web developer, (Plumley 2017). The lessons have profoundly helped shatter development
barriers.
Evolving from old coding and website development habits is just the initial step, however.
Most of the lessons I learn in class involved definitive coding skills and the various
approaches required in developing better sites, (Zambon and Dumay, 2016). The
development of primary sites with limited functionality was not considered good enough.
Thus, during my group assignment where I was among the coding team, I hade to wend
around the jungle of consistent and gruesome coding process which mostly required my
judgment regarding most of the processes involved. My initial attempts seemed more juvenile

and needed me to step up my desire to create one of the fantastic sites. From the futility of
first attempts, constant research transformed my overall understanding of coding and website
designing. As compared to the passive receivership of knowledge in class, this group activity
allowed me to search for the relevant expertise, wrestle it through and redefine it to form an
intelligible form of knowledge. Perhaps, my best action in this includes my ability to improve
the required XAMPP instructions and the inclusion of the pseudo-codes into the system to
process the API module. During the process, I had to trust my instincts which were both
liberating and terrifying in equal measures.
The links and information that was availed during the course supplemented my website
design insight. In particular, I liked all the various sound bites on the sites used during the
learning process. However, during our group project, we did not use any of the sound bites on
the final website we developed. Although I firmly believe our ultimate website turned out to
be okay. We took the straightforward approach of laying all pages and links in an easily
accessible manner. It is one of the most optimum sites with only the most pertinent data
relating to the site content displayed. In particular, this is an excellent way to develop a
business website. The team members moderated the color mixture and shied away from
having a flashy website devoid of a professional look.

Conclusion and next steps
All the members were impressed with the outcome of the website. However, when I consider
the designs used in other sites, I am left with a lot to learn and practice. My close attention is
to get into using Flash and Dreamweaver. The obvious things that can be incorporated into
my web development activities are portfolio images and how to effectively integrate contact
links in the About Us page of the site. In my observation, I would say that the most insight I
received from taking part of the group assignment is the realization that website design and
development is a never-ending activity that needs continuous updates and checks.
SPRINT 1 Reflection

Improving coding ability
Reflection:
After completing the first requirements of the group coding activity, my coding confidence
and website development interests developed exponentially. I realized I developed close
interests and enjoyed coding for its own sake. Participating in this coding exercise helped in
clarifying the world I live in and connected me to other highly talented individuals. With my
improved skills in coding and overall website development, I found my former narrow focus
on website development was short of the basic knowledge required. Generally, the modern
way of coding is too multivocal in analyzing the simple techniques of website designing and

development. Fictional reality or even the simple fact I had subjected myself to could not be
sustained in the modern world of website design and development. Again, the course and the
coding activity helped me discover something new, a way to incorporate modern coding
identities and development possibilities both with and outside the website development
process. So, I had undivided attention on matters touching on backlogging, sprint
retrospective and sprint planning carefully doing the coding process, (Wakimoto and Lewis,
2014). I also acknowledge the crucial role of API, UI and website database during the coding
process. I still find the passion for coding and website designing but the process has mostly
expanded.
Close contact with group team members, and the professor contributed to the expansion of
my understanding. Once I faced difficulty in the coding process, I found my team members
and the professor ready to assist and support my evolving coding ability. The whole team
helped with all the efforts they could offer as I put together new things that I had learned on
coding from my simplified ashes of website design and development. My team was among
the most robust setup I have ever worked with. Everyone was dedicated and determined to
accomplish their role throughout the process. It was a fantastic opportunity to be associated
with this beautiful group. The whole idea behind working as a team was an excellent idea,
(Johnson, 2018). We all had someone to consult.

Conclusion and next steps
Taking part in the group activities, particularly coding, made me make informed decisions on
how to code various sections of the website by sourcing for the relevant information that will
ensure the creation of a modern and professional website, (Khosrow-Pour 2015). Initially, I
had a basic knowledge of website development which was not polished enough. In most of
my projects, I produced unprofessional sites that were exposed to various risks and
disadvantages that are associated with the project. After attending the class and taking part in
the group assignment, I received more information on the overall overview of the website and
the various coding techniques that are required to achieve the same. My involvement in the
team project gave me a chance to incorporate the different coding information that led to the
creation of an ideal website.

Reflection:
During the project development process, the group members employed specialization and
division of labor as a useful tool in meeting the set goals. Each team member was assigned
roles according to their expertise and in areas, they are most comfortable working. Despite
having different responsibilities to accomplish, the team operated as a unit to ensure
processes conformity and overall standardization of the process. As thus, the group met

regularly for the review meetings to analyze both individual and collective performance of
members.
My experiences in this class and the activities that I have been involved in, I have learned
how to critically evaluate the development process in the way that I could during the coding
process. With access to an enormous supportive team that has sharpened my designing skills
as a tool, I learned to utilize effectively, (Niederst 2015). Throughout the learning processes
and the group activity, I was able to weed out the irrelevant knowledge that is considered
redundant in the current website designing era. I entirely focused on the modernized way of
thinking in developing advanced websites that align with the current technological
requirements.

Conclusion and next steps
I realized through the process of multimodal illustrations that inputting large files in the
operating engine of the website reduces its effectiveness and speed. While coding the
website, the codes that were used limited specific file capacity to avoid the possibility of
loading massive files that will reduce the efficiency of the site, (Lynch and Horton, 2012).

The multimodal process and the group help in received helped me in focus on the coding
process paying close details to the requirements with no diversions. The guidance helped me
shape my coding concentration and guide me from venturing off the elements.

Summary
Looking back on these learning experiences, I was able to consider my next step. All the
experiences and learning curves within the course will have a direct impact on shaping the
direction my career will take. Although I was not particularly keen on majoring in website
development, getting involved in the course and the group website development activity was
a revelation to my career desires. The joy and fulfillment I received gave me satisfaction that
has become increasingly difficult to forget. Thus, I have realized that my passion lies in
website development and design. The way I perceive it, cording and designing are
exceptionally fantastic and complicated than illustrated in our technological realm. I feel
developing and designing various websites will be both a fulfilling career in spreading the
love of technology to those in need of sites. To that end, I have begun making more and more
websites and getting involved in website creation activities. The knowledge I obtained from
the course is crucial as web designing will be my purposeful life for years to come. However,
I feel more ready to conquer the coding world that I was before attending the class. Not only
have I equipped myself with useful knowledge, but I have also learned a lot of things about
myself and the abilities I possess.
