Role of economically deprived area to influence crimes:
 According to the viewpoint of Hale (2013) there is a
relationship between the economy, poverty and crime.
 Material inequality of Wealth prevails in the
economically deprived areas that influence a person
to commit a crime.
 Sense of failure in economically deprived areas also
act as a factor to promote illegal activities.

Literature Review
 It was found by Webster & Kingston (2014) that poverty is
one of the reasons committing a crime.
 Some of the crimes are committed because of a necessity
born out of poverty.
 To be specific, family stress, disruption, school failure
induces a person to involve in criminal activity.
 The immediate effect of post war economic inequality and
poverty was observed in the crime rates.
 Homicide and serious assault are the most reported
example of poverty influenced crimes.

Literature Review
Various means by which economic deprived area are
exposed to crime:
 Sariaslan et al., (2013) in their study has identified that
criminal activity can be commonly found in areas that
has low socio-economic status.
 In the economic deprived areas, rates of crime involving
behavioural problems are high in the older children.
 The finding of their research was that socioeconomically
deprived areas has the greater chances of engaging in
criminal activity.

Methodology
 Three types of research philosophies are there
which helps to develop a study, namely,
interpretivism, positivism and realism.
 To investigate the issue in a logical and critical
manner, positivism philosophy will be used.
 The other two philosophies will be rejected as they
depend on each individual and perception might
vary from one person to other.

Research Design
 There are three types of research designs, such
as, descriptive, analytical or exploratory.
 Exploratory research design is chosen of these
designs.
 Exploratory research design shall be used to
understand the concept and develop a relation
between the two variables in consideration
(Taylor, Bogdan & DeVault, 2015).

Data Collection Method
 Both primary and secondary data will be
collected to carry out this study.
 Primary data will be collected by way of
various sources like interview and survey.
 The secondary sources will include the
various data available in the printed form
or online platform.

Sampling method and sampling size
 For collecting the primary data the
probability and non-probability sample
technique shall be used in this research.
 Apart from this, simple random sampling
will be used for understanding the topic.
 Survey shall be conducted in 50
economically deprived area.

Data Anaysis
 To analyse the data collected in the survey,
they will be transformed in numeric and
percentages.
 To evaluate the qualitative data, thematic
approach will be undertaken.
 The data collected from the secondary
sources will be converted in various
themes.

Ethical consideration
 The research will be conducted
following the ethical guidelines.
 Consent of every participants will be
considered while collecting the primary
data.
 Due referencing shall be mentioned in
the research to carry out the research.
