The UK education system is advance and unique for the students. It helps the students to
grow personally and professionally. It is the medium to develop effective learning in order to
boost the confidence and morale of the students. It is the best place chosen by the students for
their higher studies. It allows the students to enhance their knowledge and skill to score good
position at academic level. The UK education system create the positive environment to learn
and grow by interacting with students of different culture and class (Mason, 2019). The UK
education system promotes better understanding of the concept by engaging them into various
courses that enables them to grow their interpersonal and communication skill to express their
thoughts ad ideas with the other students. They have unique educational structure that allows the
students to pursue education in the UK. This report will examine the importance of higher
education in the United Kingdom and its benefits.

The wide range of benefits ensure by the universities in the United Kingdom and it is the best
sources of getting higher education. The benefits of study in the United Kingdom are discussed
below:
 High Quality Education: The education system of the United Kingdom is advanced .
They have diversified learning structure and upgraded knowledge helps the students to learn
new information more efficiently. They are providing many benefits to the students so that
they can secure good position at academic level .The universities are renowned and reputed
for their knowledge and courses. The Higher education are the important phase for the
students to learn new things , experience new world, connect with the people and explore the
opportunities.
 International students are welcomed: The students believes that the education system of
UK helps them to develop skill and knowledge and will make them ready for the workforce.

The universities also welcomed their students and make them more interactive to explore the
new ideas and thoughts with the people of different culture and background. (Richard and
Pilcher, 2020). It is one of the best destination to advance career and make them result
oriented towards achieving the goal of the life. The students considered the universities are
highly skilled teachers and lecturers who helped them in the process of effective learning. It
is the door of new opportunities where they can nurture their growth to set a benchmark of
life.
 Education at affordable cost: The education which are provided in the UK are cheaper and
reasonable and can easily be afford. It emphasize mainly on students growth instead of profit
earning. Those who want to gain higher education can easily get admission in the UK with
reasonable fee structure that are specially designed for the students to improve their
standards of living.
 Work while study: The students also have the opportunity to work along with their study
in order to promote certain skills. The main reason to allow them for work is to make them
ready for the workforce so that necessary abilities can be developed to get easy employment
after the completion of higher education in the universities.
Why I have decided to study in UK
There are multiple reasons that force me to pursue higher education in the country like UK as
their educational structure helps the students to advance their knowledge and skill and helps in
many ways that are discussed below:
 Academic Excellence: They are providing excellence in the various courses to get
specialized knowledge and skill in order to improve standards of learning and helps me in
the process of effective learning.
 Communication skill: The communication skill are the most important skill that are
required to interact and express the inner feeling with the others. The know;edge shared by
the universities in the UK mainly emphasized on enhancing the verbal and non verbal skill
of the students.
 Creativity skills: The creativity skill is crucial skill that allows the students to use and
develop the mind in order to bring change in the technological world to modernize the
culture and society. (Trudel, Milestetd and Culver, 2020). It helps me to create new ideas

and thoughts by interacting with other fellow mates. The creative mind is required to
innovate new things and products to make themselves more productive for the
organization , and contribute in their success.
 Critical Thinking: I am successfully developing the critical thinking skill by engaging
myself into various activities and task that helps me to think logically. It includes mindful
decision that not only helps me at academic level but also contributes in my professional
growth.
CONCLUSION
This report concludes that the study in higher education is important to build the strong pillar
of growth and development for the students so that they can achieve success in the life. The UK
are the best place to pursue career in various courses at reasonable rates because it will not make
the students result oriented but also ensure personal growth of the students. It focus mainly on
the abilities and capabilities of the students and enhance their multiple skill to hold good
academic position in the university. The universities have well designed study courses to get
specialized in the relevant field. It makes them effective learners which is necessary to make
themselves successful in the life. Therefore, the study in the international country like are
generally expensive but UK, has charged nominal fee from their students to attract them towards
academic learning.

to share information in an effective way. It is crucial skill and widely used in all sectors to covey
the message. Listening skill is also a key to effective communication. Listening skill helps to
connect with the people by actively listening to a person. Active listening is also important for
the students to carefully listening to the teacher and professional in a class to understand the
concept teach in an institution (Agrawal, Narain and Ullah, 2019). The process of
communication can not take place effectively until a message is not properly communicated with
the listener. However, the transmission of important information must be communicated properly
and more efficiently. The student who have good listening capacity are able to develop skills and
knowledge in more appropriate manner. These skill are important to avoid misunderstanding and
frustration and allows students to remember new ideas and information shared through various
online platform to make effective learning process. This report will analyse the challenges of
listening skill and the strategies that helps to overcome such barriers.

Listening skill are most important skill that are provided to the foreign student in the university
to make effective learning process. These skill are important for the purpose of understanding
the relevant information to be quickly summarised in mind which helps them to revise for the
future examination. The listening skill is the fundamental learning skill that are important to
achieve the possible outcome deliver by the listener. It allows remembering of key points
discussed in various lectures and online classrooms. It helps them to communication properly.
These challenges may create confusion and stress the students due to ineffective listening of the
information. The instructor or the teachers plays important role in improving their listening skill.
However, the student are still facing some challenges to develop listening skill at academic level
are discussed below:

 Limited Vocabulary : The vocabulary knowledge is important for the learners to
improve their proficiency in developing listening skill. It is highly valuable to
communicate in foreign language and express their thoughts and expression to others. It
is broad knowledge of words and the students are lack of vocabulary knowledge which
make them ineffective listener (Ahmed, 2019). Many difficulties occur in the listening
comprehension which includes prediction of words, guessing of unidentified words and
misinterpretation of words speak by the speaker. Less knowledge of vocabulary create
barriers for the students to learn new things and knowledge, gain the information share
by the lecturer and teachers.
 Cultural Difference : Due to diversified culture and tradition , it is difficult for the
students to understand the different culture and their opinion. Learner should be familiar
with the cultural knowledge in order to improve their listening skill. If the task and
assignment assigned by the teacher involves items of different cultures, then learners may
arise critical problem to develop listening comprehension. It is the responsibility of the
university to give background knowledge and information to advance the learning
activities for the students. The students from different cultural background finds barriers
in developing listening barriers and unable them to make effective communication with
other students.
 Quality of Recorded Material: The recorded material use by the teachers does not have
good quality that creates barriers for the learners to make effective listening . The lack of
quality in the learning material discourage them to increase listening capacity.
 Accent: Improper speech can lead to reduction in the listening comprehension.
Sometimes, the learners are unfamiliar with the accent use by the teachers and lecturer
creates an issue to enhance listening skill. It is important for the teacher to use the proper
accent to make understanding of the academic concept. The use of typical accent and
words may struggle the students to record the pronounced information.
 Length and speed of listening: The information shared by the teachers must have
moderate speed to effectively receive the listener. The main issue arises with listening
comprehension is speed as information detailed by the speaker, does not have control on
the listener and they are unable to tell the teacher to repeat the lecture again. The use of

high speed can cause serious problem for the listener to understand the pronunciation of
words used by the teachers in the university.
 Lack of Practice : The lack of practice of listening skill creates barriers for the listener to
make effective learning process. The continuos practices may helps them to receive the
information and ideas shared by the teacher very quickly. The students are required to
develop such skill to achieve the possible outcomes (Forsyth, Richardson and Lowrie,
2019). It will improve the concentration power of the student to actively listen the teacher
in the classroom to make easy understanding of vocabulary and pronunciation of words
etc.
2. Explain how students can develop their active listening skills.
Active listening skill can be enhanced by continuos practice and learning. It requires positive
efforts of the students to listen the other's information and revert the message in most appropriate
manner. The art of listening is important for the student at academic level to develop information
and knowledge in the life. It also improve the communication skill and make the person ore
interactive. There are various elements required to fall under the criteria of active listening as it
requires positive attitude of the students , proper attention and adaption of information shared by
the speaker. It shows the mental capacity of the individual to understand the knowledge
imparting by the teachers (Fadhillah, 2021) . The conversation take place in the classroom is an
integral part of the educational institution. The skills of listening prepares the student for future
goal to efficiently take part in the process of decision making. All the important skills are
interconnected with each other and essential for the future growth of the students. The pupils
who actively take part in the classroom are able to meet the deadlines of the assignments.
Ineffective listening may create mistake and confusion among the students and because of that,
they are not able to complete their assignment in a specified period of time. It is a key to success
and foster the effective communication. It helps to build strong relation with the people by
exchanging the ideas and thoughts with the other people.
There are the following strategies that are required to develop active listening skill are
discussed below:
 Remove Distraction: The first and most important strategy is required to students are
distraction to remove barriers in order to make effective listening. Distraction of any

kind may mislead to listen the information carefully. Avoidance of background noise or
colleagues interruption may improve the listening capacity of the student.
 Listen Actively: The students are required to actively listen the lecture to pay attention to
the information by listening them more carefully in order to give quick response to the
speaker. The listening skill can be improved by understanding the key knowledge in the
university as it is the best way to promote mindful thinking and strategising the listening
skill.
 Pay attention to body language: Body language plays significant role to show case
efforts and intention of the students for making effective listening. The attentive position
helps the students to quickly understand the information and convey the message to the
speaker (Imran, 2020). The listening comprehensive is based on the body language and
style of presenting the thoughts in front of of students so that information can easily be
shared. The teachers are required to use proper body language so that students can
properly understand the concept of academic learning.
 Don't Interrupt: It is important for the students to not interrupt in the middle of
conversation. It will highlight the disrespectful attitude towards the teacher and lecturer.
In order to make active listening , the students are required to carefully understand the
each and every information shared by the teacher with their students without causing any
interruption otherwise it will cause confusion and chaos.
 Engage: The active listening skill includes engagement of two people, to exchange the
thoughts and expression with one another. It requires proper attention to listen the
speaker so that students can record the study material for the academic learning as it will
make them more interactive to effectively listen the other party. It build confidence and
boost the morale of the students if the message are properly conveyed from speaker to
listener.
 Concentrate on the speaker : A good listener always make conscious efforts to learn
from the speaker and focus on the content shared by them so that they can use such
information for future purpose. The information must be transmitted timely so that
speaker can revert the desired information in a specified time to the speaker. It is
considers as the part of communication process and are essential for the active listening
skill.

Therefore, efficient listening helps to save time and make the student result oriented towards
the academic learning. With the help of above mentioned strategies, the academic understanding
can be enhanced to actively listening to teachers and lecturer (Smith and Nichols, 2020). It
allows an individual to store the information in memory and recall whenever it is required,
mainly during the examination. The active listening enhance the interpersonal connection with
the teachers and enable the speaker to share the valuable information to develop knowledge of
pupils in the university. However, the students who actively take part in the process of listening,
are able to make themselves more focused and disciplined towards goals and objectives of their
life.
CONCLUSION
From this above report, it has been concluded that listening skill are equally important than
any other skills. It has greater contribution in the student's life and helps them to build strong
relation with the people through effectively listening the speaker. It is believed that continuos
practice of listening skill makes the students more confident and goal oriented towards the goals.
It is important for the students to actively and attentively listen the concept and information
sharing by the teachers in the university. It helps to overcome all the barriers that may arise due
to ineffective listening. It is the key to avoid conflict and confusion among the students. It helps
to connect with the people and create better understanding of thoughts and knowledge in order
to enhanced active listening skill.
