INTRODUCTION
Reading and writing are those common and important skills of an individual that without
these an individual can't achieve success. These are the most important concept in the life of a
student. Thus, it is very important that the reading and writing skill of every student should be
well presentable. This report will discuss various strategies that will help students to develop
their reading habit. In addition, of this some suggestions are also being included in this report
that will guide the students to improve the quality of writing.

1. Strategies used to improve reading skills
There are many strategies that can be used by reader to improve reading skills. Out of those
strategies some are:
Skimming:
It is one of best reading strategy. As per this strategy the main idea is being looked by the
reader from the entire text. This strategy will not involve detailed reading of the text. While
pursuing this strategy reader will not read the detailed text, instead a thorough reading will be
adopted by the reader which will help it knows the main idea behind the text. This strategy is
usually being adopted to read the informal information like newspaper, magazines. This strategy
will not only help in developing reading skill but it will also help in saving time of reader
(Aritonang, Lasmana and Kurnia, 2019). This strategy is usually used because it is easy to be
performed this method. While executing this strategy the reader will pickup keywords and
concepts of the text. Those key concepts and words are the representation of the entire text.
Scanning:
It is also a common and useful strategy. In this strategy reader will scan the entire text in
this mind and then interpret accordingly. This method is something different from skimming. In
this strategy the text and its meaning will be studied in detail. This is usually adopted to know
the meaning of some concept and term. In order to create understanding about that concept the
reader will read everything associated with text (Wahyuningsih, 2018). Thus, it would not be
wrong to said that this strategy will not only develop reading ability among reader but it also
helps in developing understanding level about the text. This strategy is also being used to read
facts and figures. It is usually adopted while researching something.
Note making:

As per its name suggest that the meaning of this strategy is making of notes by reader.
Under this strategy reader will make the notes which is being read by them. This strategy is
usually adopted to recall the read text. As it is a common fact that reading and making of notes of
the read text will help the reader to recall that information. Thus, this technique not only helps in
developing reading skill among reader but it also helps it to recall whenever it is being required.
Questioning:
By raising questions and making questioning will not only help the reader to understand
the topic but it also helps in raising reading skill. As question will be arisen only if the text is
being read carefully and deeply. And if that questions will got an answer then this will not only
raise understanding of the concept but the inner desire of the reader regarding the topic will also
be satisfied. Thus, questioning will helps in inculcating deep reading habit among readers.
Summarizing:
As per this strategy text is being read first and on the basis of that reading making
summary of the entire text. This is one of the best techniques of enhancing reading ability among
reader. This strategy usually used to read the long text (Jacob, 2020). As it is being interpreted in
summary form so this will also be right to said that through implementation of summarizing
strategy time will be saved when it is required to read it for the second time. As under this
strategy summary is being made so this will also develop analytical ability along with enhancing
reading skill.
Preparing the environment:
This is one of the most effective and useful strategy that is being used to develop reading
habit among reader. Environment plays a very important role in preparing the mind of an
individual towards reading. Silent and peaceful environment will help in raising concentration
power among reader by which they can read the tough text very easily. While on the other hand
an environment consisting of a lot of noise will distract the mind of reader and as a result reader
will not able to understand and read even simple text also. So, adopting a peaceful and silent
environment will not only raise reading habit among readers but at the same time understanding
and thinking level of the reader will also raise. This strategy will also helps the reader to read the
tough text in a much easier way.
Detailed reading:

As per this strategy and method reader will read the entire text in detailed way. Under
this method each and every aspect regarding the text will be covered and read by the reader. This
strategy is generally used when it is required to go in detail and no concept and term will be left
out while reading the article. It is normally adopted to read the formal documents where each and
every rule, terms and conditions will be given due attention (Nurhadiansyah, Pratama and Al-
Ghozali, 2019). Escaping of any line and concept will cause a bad and negative result for the
reader. Using of this strategy will also helps to develop detailed reading skill among reader.
Previewing
It is also a common and useful strategy for raising reading skill among readers. As per
this skill the reader can before reading the entire text can identify the main meaning of the text.
This skill is usually used when reader has good expertise or have prior experience and
knowledge about the text (Anwar, 2020). This strategy is also a time saving technique because
reader can interpret the main idea behind the text without reading deeply.

across the different areas at professional career growth and academic achievements. Students
have needed to be good writer so that they can do better in their exam and also complete their
assignments. Eventually, it compose of longer reports as well as essays.
For students to improve their writing skills, needed to practice on the possible tasks on
regular basis. It has been suggested the different strategies that will help for students to develop
their writing skills.
Encourage Reading- A good writer tends to do focus on the reading skills. There is
important reason for this way to improve writing skills. Family, teachers are participated
important in the encouragement of student towards writing. Therefore, student can easily learnt
concepts of vocabulary in context of more words. Once it has been required a lot of efforts to

gather or collect knowledge. In this way, it become easier for student to understand the transition
into productive (Zong, Schunn and Wang, 2020). Students have tried to do regular reading,
exposes to different way to use suitable words, variety of sentence use. All these things are
useful for writing skills.
Helping the Student to Get Started- A blank page is only consider as intimidating, even
for individual person write something good. Student may do fine once they are going to start
writing. At that time, it must have needed them to provide the right direction where student can
find suitable words and their meaning (Zong, Schunn and Wang, 2020). Different teachers are
asked them to provoke any kind of questions, make a better mind-map of innovative idea.
Sometimes, it also relates to the particular topic or subject, writing about the particular work and
also organize the specific outline. Moreover, it is also turned toward draft. Sometimes, taking
away the student from stigma of writing. This is the perfect way to make better sentence. Once
students have been started the work, it always tried to reshaped or revised. Afterwards, students
have gained more knowledge (Zong, Schunn and Wang, 2020). This type of thing is suggested to
encourage or motivate the individual person and then start writing. Sometimes, Students have
been record something innovative and express in the form of writing.
Tech working in Drafts- it is also consider as suggested approach in term of writing
skills improvement. This type of approach is applicable as brainstorming, putting innovative idea
down on paper. It must ensure that language and individual thoughts of people, also revised any
kind of errors in different phases of writing. Students have needed to understand the better
concept before starting the writing skills (Hadiyanto, 2019). This is not only applicable as
reviews, writes something goods. The primary reason which is helping for student to write by
using computer system. Sometimes, they can easily save their data or information. Many
students have tried the multiple attempt which make an efficient to recognize the better piece of
writing. This will help for manage or control the flow of information in proper manner.
Allow the student to use correct spell and check Grammar- this type of approach will
be suggested to the student by family members, teachers. It became easier for student to use
different modern technology. In order to provide the right meaning of sentence. Spelling and
grammar related feedback is becoming useful for student, those are trying to learn something
better and then try to turn in the form of writing. In this way, it has been suggested the multiple

Incentivize free writing at school or home- whenever, many students have learnt to
write properly. They are not just improving their academic skills, but they are always tried to
implement new self-expression. A creative tasks are inspiring or motivating the students in order
to participate into different learning activities. It does not means that student can read and then
start writing. It is just all about grasp new idea which is always influenced towards writing skills.
Moreover, it is important for student to write something on regular basis (Tsedendamba, Grossi
and Volkov, 2020). Parents might have suggested to keep personal diary. This will help for
student to learn something new and then start writing. At school, Teachers plays important role
to encourage the students where they can gain more opportunity regarding writing. So as they
can easily improve writing skills.
Suggested Copying activities- this type of suggestion is related to memorizing its though
process of student. It can help to focus on the particular topic and incorporate the new structure
into productive manner. At that time, there is no involvement of teacher, parents but it is
completely depends upon the perception of students. In this way, children has been improved
their own thought process and writing a better sentences.

improvement ability in both writing as well as reading skills. As per analysis. it has been
summarised about the different strategies that can use by student in term of reading ability
improvement. Moreover, identify the better suggestions approach which may use by student and
