The United Kingdom is considered to be the best platform in order to pursue the higher degree

institutions in terms of universities provides the golden opportunity in terms of exploring the
different fields of education. The students are free to explore beyond the associated subjects that are
being included in their degree courses. Apart from studies, students can find high level of exposure
in various activities other than academics. There are various events takes place according to the
timely intervals. The students are allowed to participate in these activities without any kind of extra
charge. The students are not over burdened with a lot of stress related to their studies. These
institutions focus on the development of the students in order to enhance the growth opportunity in
their area of interests. That is why many students opt for the particular country so as to prosecute
their study program in the universities of United Kingdom(Guan, Song and Li, 2018).
In my opinion, studying in United Kingdom is beneficial because the system of the study structure
provides opportunity in order to develop the required skills and knowledge in the specific area,
which I have opted for my graduation. The exposure rendered by these universities in the filed of
academics and the other non-academic activities helps in developing my overall personality and
also boost the level of confidence. The flexibility in the education structure and the large number of
courses available in the universities provides a better growth to the career. Better understanding of
the concepts that are being taught by the experienced faculties created a big difference in the
learning aspects. Now I can recognize and understand the complex concepts in a simple way. One
of main reason for choosing United Kingdom to pursue my higher studies is the work culture of the
country(Yu and Moskal, 2019) . There are many opportunities for the students to manage their day
to day costs that is the part time jobs. It helps in providing the financial support to the students and
lessen the burden of the families in terms of giving monthly pocket money to the students so as to

am able to manage the financial needs. The study culture of the universities is not rigid and
cooperates with the students. The students also having the options of acquiring scholarships

and skills in terms of fulfilling the criteria for attaining the scholarships. This kind of learning
environment not only furnishes the personal growth of the students but it also helps in growing
them professionally. In my case, the culture of the speaking English in the university campus helped
in achieving a command or fluency over the language(Grace Chien, 2020) . The facilities are highly
tech friendly which includes digital libraries, well maintained classrooms with smart boards, various
types of laboratories, etc. One more important point I wanted to mention, that is the highly
experienced teaching staff and the supportive faculties in the university which gives me a
satisfaction. The techniques used by the professors are so simple that the students can grasp the
difficult topics very easily. The management of the universities provide proper assistance in case
any of the students face any kind of issues in the campus. They provide quick solutions to the
problems faced by the students(Кривова and Клементьева, 2021).
3 Discuss some of the listening challenges students may experience at university.
4 Explain how students can develop their active listening skills.
The term of listening will be defined as the thought of skills from which the individual listens
anything which is being addressed to him in the business. The individual take knowledge and learn
it for using in future through listening. The listening process includes two persons, one person is
who speaks and the other person listens to what he is saying to him. Mainly the there are one
speaker and many listeners. Many of the problems arise when the students listen in the class. The
problem is related to listening and this arise in recent scenario. There are many ways from which
the problem of listening will be solved in the business. The listening problem arise when the
speaking is done in any other language. This is a case in which the translation of language of speech
have been addressed through the lecture in class. The listening problem will be classified in many
groups which is suggested through the researcher in the field (Henderson Ryan and Phillips, 2019) .
In the year 1999, Mr. Goh knows many type of problems for listening which is to be solved through
applying accurate strategies. The problems involves quick forgetting after listening, not being
identify the words which is said through the speaker, did not understand the intended message, not
able to frame correct meaning of what is being said, etc.
In 1989 the Underwood, organize the problem leading for listening in such a lack of power on the
velocity which is spoken through speakers, this is not be able to get the belongings to repeated
through an person, the vocabulary of listener is small, they did not achieve in recognize the signals,
difficult to representation, unfitness in concentration and this made the learning habits. The problem
for sense is emphasises through Field in 2003 are that the learners experience the word, but did not
understand in clear way (Frey, Fisher and Smith, 2019). The listener should know the statement of

writing to sort but not for spoken version. In addition, the listener have trouble in catching words
through the adjacent speech as dialogue.
In year 2005, the Yiching thinks that some obstruction made trouble for listening in such a notion
barriers, barriers of material, habitual barrier, process of information barrier, barrier of English
competency, strategical barrier and emotive barrier. In 2006 the Yousif cites about mental barriers
when listening the value of speech rate in sensing and gives break at time of prolonged listening
activity. Moreover, the lectures have to be accurate for students in respect to listening difficulty and
adjust action to students. Generally there are 10 obstruction for listening. This view the opinion for
subject through speaker. This also include feeling of the listener and speaker. The distraction makes
hurdle in the listening process. Hearing is more than waiting which converts to conversation, many
people gets brain sick through planning what will they say next. Moreover, daydreaming is also a
hurdle for listener’s(Bailey and Lee, 2020) .
Hurdles of listening can be resolved by different ways. The ways are that the listener must
understand the language in proper manner in which the speaker is speaking as if the listener has less
knowledge of subject than listener would not understand the speakers saying. Here language plays a
crucial role of listening and process understanding. Also the concentration of high level plays a
significant role in act of listening(Rintaningrum, 2018) . It is due to if listener will not listen with
concentration then it will be hard for understanding the subjects clear meaning which speaker is
addressing. If there is concentration lacking then listener will take more times for coming back from
other subject or topic and listen to speaker.
Listening process is a important skills in every field of life ,if you are helping a closed one in their
health issues, colleagues handling or relation of house. But not every one is great at listening like
we consider in our minds. It can be seen while demonstration that we are hearing really, the it is
much appreciated for the individual to person as they will get more. The process of listening is
referred to as the active listening. It helps in avoiding the wrong interpretation and reduction of
conflict expected(Gafurova, 2020). They are the ways by which a person can manage for creating
skills of active listening in self. Firstly it consists of eye contact of listener and speaker. Eye contact
is a important step of face to face voice communication. Excessive contact of eyes can also
be intimidating, so accommodating the condition. Individual should try to break the eye contact in
every 5 seconds as it will show that you are hearing with attention. If the individual wants to look
more attentive than they must look at one eye for 4 seconds and the other one at 4 seconds. It will
lead to switching of sense of mouth. It will help in looking listener for part or up fitter down which
can appear like person wants the good conversation. Next way is for checking speakers posture and
form to avoid arm decapsulation or legs intersecting which will make you little defensive. By
leaning forward in posture which shows that listener is hearing. It can little bend the head on the

persons hand(BaikLarcombe and Brooker, 2019).
There are different ways of non verbal by which person can implement active listening by listeners.
It includes expressions of face of the person as they play a significant role in improvement of active
listeners. The expressions of face, voice pitch and indication tells much in less language. By paying
attention to the other persons saying by their body language like smile, crossed arms in defence, eyes
resistance if they are feeling tired. On telephone many information can be acquired by voice sounds
strengths. Another way of initiating the active listening is by not interrupting while speaking of
someone. It means that when person is speaking something to listener than they must not be
interrupted. It is due to if listener is interrupted between the speaking then it will lead to
concentration lacking of subject(Suppasetseree, 2021). Speaker will not be able to deliver the
speech as same as earlier interruption. It would create the feeling in mind of speaker that they are
not important than speaker. It will also reduce the self confidence of speaker. Listener should listen
in a way that it will not create any judgement for speaker or subject which speaker is addressing. It
is due to that speaker is judged for info they are delivering, then they will not be able to deliver the
speech in proper manner. Listener should listen carefully and not plan for argument with speaker.
Listener may carry off the queries to speaker in the end of lecture. No person can listen and plan at
same time. Listener should listen first and then plan for saying anything after the evaluation of
lecture delivered by speaker in case. The listener should also show some face expressions which
will show that they are actively listening to speaker. It can be done by head nodding, smile and many
more by listening the speaker in class. The speaker can also address the expressions of face of
listeners in class. It involves different factors which will show that ways of non verbal is also
important for initiative and competing the communication. Listener should not impose the opinions
on speaker without listening to speaker(Spataro and Bloch, 2018) . Listener should always focus in
the speech and listens to all the arguments of the matter of subject carefully. The speaker can ask
questions if there is any doubt in the subject of speaker. It will aid the speaker for realising that
listeners are actively listening to them. In this way speaker will also deliver the best info to the
listener. The last way of listening is by analysing and concluding about the info delivered by
speaker. It will also aid the listener for learning about info and knowledge which is given by speaker
in lecture.
CONCLUSION
The conclusion drawn from the above essay is that there are number of benefits provided by the
universities of the United Kingdom for the students who opt it for pursuing the higher studies. Such
as, quality education, great amount of exposure, opportunities of growth, job opportunities for the
