INTRODUCTION
In general, it should be known that skills play a vital and important role in an individual
life. Skills are the ability and knowledge from which a person would be able to exhibit
themselves and obtain higher success in the life (Kocatepe, Yildirim, and et.al., 2020). The report
is illustrating the major key skills which are taught during the higher education to help and
support the students to improve and increase their skills and abilities to perform well in
examinations. Along with this, it also includes the importance of the mentioned skill with the
different sources which will aid to enhance then education.

Reading effectively : The first skill defines the term reading skills which is playing an important
role in the education. It is commonly known that reading is necessary to learn and understand the
topics or subjects. Without reading skill an individual is not able to understand the meaning and
learning effectively (Hodge, Wright, and et.al., 2018). To improve the reading skill an individual
student requires a right and appropriate reading environment which will make them understand
the learnings and also enhance the focus and concentration power. A right atmosphere is
necessary to learn this skill and also can avoid the distractions at the place. Whenever, a student
is reading any book or report they should the break the terms or sentences from which they can
be able to read out and understand the meanings which will help them to make an effective
reading ability. A student or learner can be able to enhance their skills by making the short points
or sentences which will help and support them to read out effectively (Lervåg, Hulme and et.al.,
2018). Separate the sub-titles and their parts which will make a student to focus on the particular
subject and also can use the highlighter to mark the main and essential reading topics.

Report writing skills:
Report writing skills are essential in many disciplines. Report writing has main aim to sometime
and informs to persuade. This should be written as succinctly and clearly with having evidence
about situation, problem and topic. The report also provides the information, evidence, analysed
that are being presented to particular issue or problem (Mac Cann, Jiang, and et.al, 2020). This is

that information about the report is easy to follow and locate. While having these things, this

which analyse and present evidence and facts that are being relevant to the specific problem or
issues of the sources in report brief. This also have the main purpose of the report adhere and
brief to its having specialization, gather or evaluate and analyse the given relevant information,
make more throughout and practical recommendation where this could be required. Report
writing skills which help the students in preparing about the given topic and make sure for
having that effective manner. While the concepts of report writing must be clear and specific
about any given topics.
Critical thinking skills-
Critical thinking is the process for analysing the problem or topic deeply with relevant
information. Some common steps when thinking critically to solve the problem: research and
collect the information on issues develop and implement solution, identify the problem or issues.
The skills which are being needed to order for thinking critically which are varied and including
analysis, interpretation, reflection, evaluation, inference, problem solving, decision making and
explanation (Cain, Brindley, Brown, and et.al., 2019). The most important interest in role of
critical skills is realizing and discovering some human potential. The skills research is also react

the people for developing more competences models that could be able to link from one skills to
another. The critical thinking in higher education which seems to be important and this might be
play the important role for completion about any goals and objective.
Academic writing skill : Academic writing skill is important to apply and follow in the student
life. This skill or ability is important as it helps and aid the communication skill of an individual
student which will make them to drive and obtain a successful career ahead. In the higher
education, students requires to have an effective communication or writing skill as it increase or
boot their ideologies, methods, sharing which will provide them various opportunity to develop
themselves which will be beneficial at examination and in the upcoming future. An excellent
writing skill helps students to learn and improve their writing as grammar, spellings, gesture
and punctuation which makes an effective communication (Ampa, and Quraisy, 2018). An
individual or student who has a better and effective writing communication skill provides various

chances and possibility to display them at career growth and also aid them to perform well in the
projects and examinations.
Active Listening : Active listening helps students to enhance their mindful activities at accurate
situation. This skill help students to build and improve their connections in the classroom and
also support them to understand the lectures and subjects. Active listening skill is important and
necessary to develop and apply in the student's life as they are required to identify and solve the
obstacles and make an understanding knowledge of a specific topic to obtain the good grades in
the examinations. This skill also helps them to increase their focus and concentration from which
they can be able to learn, write and exhibit their knowledge at the examination hall. The active
listening enable student to get more information and enhance their education knowledge
impressively (Rhea, and Rivchun, 2018). Developing the active listening increase and improves
the honesty and trust between the people and helps to feel motivated while talking to each other.
Note-making : Note making is the effective part of the study skills which helps to stay attentive
and clarify the learning’s and thinking. Not making is a written record which aid student to
understand the knowledge and subjects in the impressive manner. Making notes is important as it
encourages the learning’s and push towards to prepare study materials. It boosts up the
motivation and courage of student to write in examination with the help of note making criteria
or strategy which helps them to remember the points (Enns, Eldridge, Montgomery, and et.al.,
2018). This skill clarifies the thinking and reasoning of a student and guides them to follow an
appropriate structure. Note making skill aid to organize a unique thinking or critical thought in a
student creature from which they can be able to obtain the excellent grades in the examinations.
Interview skills:
Interview skills are those action or skills which allow person to be more effective throughout the
interview process for having new position. As many interview skills help candidates prepare
about the guide and interview as they are participate in job interview. Acing job interview
requires more depth preparation as well as for having ability to confident and feel more
comfortable when discussing about skills, qualification, experience with hiring managers
(Husky, Kovess-Masfetyand et.al., 2020). This needs to be several relevant skills which can help
the candidate and get offered an interview for having an open position in organization. It also
needs a few important skills which help fir succeed during the interview. Here are some of skills
which are needed by individuals for searching jobs including research skills, communication and

preparation skills. Good communication skills are being more crucial during the job interview
and this might be also include the written and verbal communication skills.
Recommendations
Accordingly, it has already known that study skills are essential to adapt to an individual student
to perform well in the examination period. It has been recommended that for improving the study
skills an individual or student requires an appropriate strategy criteria to follow which includes
the time management and motivation (Hamidi, and Chavoshi, 2018). To enhance the study skill
requires effective learning and concentration which helps student to furnish the assignments in
the effective manner. In addition, it has been recommanded that a student can utilize the digital
technology to improve their study skills and also can join the workshops to enhance the
knowledge and ability.

In this report, o has been concluded the different study skills which plays an important role in the
student life. It includes the importance of the education study skills of higher education students
to improve their skills and knowledge which will be beneficial to them at the examination time.
It is necessary to understand and improve the study skills as it will also help an individual to
grow in their upcoming life. The report has also mentioned the recommendations from which
student can enhance and increase their study skill and ability from which they can be able to
obtain excellent grades at the examinations and also aid them to perform well in the future
existence.
