INTRODUCTION
My name is John and I was born in Romania. It is a beautiful country in Europe known for
its forest region of Transylvania. Currently, I am unmarried and have no child till now. As I was
born and bring up in Romania, my native language is Romanian. I choose to came to University
of the West of Scotland as it is most innovative and ranked university currently and it is
recognised and respected internationally. As business studies as one of the subject which I am
interested in, I want a degree in it. The degree provides me with scope to evaluate situations of
market and accordingly. I do have certain ambitions after finishing up with my Business Degree
Programme and that is I want to become one of the most successful entrepreneur of all time and
it would help me to achieve that in a significant manner.
PART A – Where I am now?
Right now, I am a student studying business in University of the West of Scotland I want to
finish my Business Degree Program with good grades. It is one of the subject which is my
favourite and I enjoying studying it as it gives me with a scope to evaluate definitions of market
and act accordingly. As my ambition is to become a successful entrepreneur, it is very much
necessary for me to get degree in business studies as it possess a lot of value. This program will
help me in getting knowledge regarding what is skills and knowledge base is required to be a
successful entrepreneur and will help me in accomplishing my ambitions and goals effectively
and successfully. Currently, I have not possessed effective skills and competencies, but this
degree will help me in acquiring skills and provide me with appropriate directions which I
require to follow in order to become a successful entrepreneur.
PART B – My study skills and learning goals
Study skills are the approaches which are applied to learning and they are critical to success
in academic time as these considered important for gaining good grades as well as useful for
learning throughout the life. Learning study skills are important for me as these not only help me
in university, but in future life also. One of my study skills includes time management. I use
calendar and make daily to do list. I get up early in order to get stuff done on time and reward
myself when the tasks are finished. Apart from this, note taking is the another skill which I
possess. When tutor taught in the classroom, I write down each and everything in the note book
and prepare notes. Moreover, I review the notes every night and develop my own abbreviations

in order to learn things easily. The another study skill which I possess includes reading skill. I
read the notes more than once and review after reading. All these study skills help me in
increasing my competence, confidence and self-esteem and reduce anxiety regarding deadlines
and tests. My good study skills also help me in improving my ability to learn as well as retain the
knowledge. My learning goals includes:
1. To revise the notes provided by teacher every day.
2. To acquire good skills and knowledge which will help in my growth.
3. I will learn more and more for my day to day experiences.
PART C – Clear strategies for how I will accomplish my goals
In order to accomplish the goals which, I mentioned above, I develop certain strategies. I
will pay my full attention in the classroom and note down everything which my tutor taught to
me. By this, I will be able to prepare complete notes every day and I will revise them in order to
improve my learning. Apart from that, i acquire the knowledge and skills by undertaking the
course and also participate more in the classroom activities so that help in my future growth. In
addition to this, whatever I learn from daily studies, I will apply that learning in order to learn
more and more from it. All these strategies will help me in accomplishing my goals in an
effective way and attaining success.
CONCLUSION
As per the above discussed report, it has been concluded that study skills are very
important in order to attain success in academic career. These skills include reading, time
management and note taking skills. Good skills help in improving my ability to retain the
knowledge for long time and get growth and success in my academic as well as professional
career.
