Study Skills Portfolio: Harvard Referencing, Time Management Task

This study skills portfolio includes three main tasks. The first task demonstrates the correct application of Harvard referencing style for various sources such as books with single or multiple authors, later editions, journal articles (both print and online), and web pages. The second task involves a presentation on effective time management. The third task focuses on academic writing, specifically an article about planning a holiday in Turkey, employing the Plymouth model for description, analysis, and evaluation of the travel experience, covering aspects like destination choice, timing, and potential issues while recommending the destination for others.

The current topic for this article is “Holiday in Turkey” and the issue occurs over there is
deep understanding about what to visit and places to cover as there was bit confusion regarding
where to start. For this analysis, Plymouth model is undertaking which is majorly classified
under three main section like description, analysis and evaluation. The description section is
related with general introduction of overall situation like the motive of holiday in Turkey and
what other situations are faced. Analysis is concerned with exploring the overall relationship and
possible situations and responses. Further, evaluation is concerned with implications of solutions
and recommendations.
 What: Under this, it includes the suitable background and context of the overall situation
of topic. I was planning to visit Turkey for my vacation and it choose Turkey due to its
friendly people, climatic condition and culture. Due to the shortage of time, I have to face
several issues like visiting few places in less time or filtering the places as per the
preferences.

 Where: It include the exact place where we are going which is Turkey where I have
analysed that many people prefer Turkey as it is famous because of the climatic
conditions and the best time to visit Turkey is Summer.
 Who: It include things or people who are involved, affected and interested in the
vacation. Turkey is one of the world’s best place to visit that invite millions of guests in
consistent manner (Yigitoglu Aptoula, 2021).
 When: It leads to include the exact time to plan the holiday to Turkey which is April to
May as the whole holiday was planned in Summer.
 Why: It include several factors like why the suggestion is given or why do people not
consider something else or other alternative to visit (Naghdipour, 2021). Like, Turkey is
the country which is situated in Western Asia and Europe and also having effective
cultural relationship to Greek, classical Roman, Persian and other places.
 How: As a group, we have analysed that there are some places which are friendly and
also has good climate conditions as there are several factors that were striking each other.
Further, we have analysed that the brochure of Turkey vacation is perfect destination for
the holidays in Summer has the place has several places to visit and festival events like
Marmaris festival. It also shows the natural places like butterfly valley and other
adventurous sports.
 What if: It include the situations like what if this particular thing went wrong, what are
the other alternatives, what issues can occur and what other factors are added in future.
Meanwhile, people can track down the most suitable and wonderful hotel at the entire
affordable prices due to the extreme competition in the travel services (Page and et. al.,
2021). Hence, there are several other alternatives where we can spend our vacation so we
also have some alternatives to resolve the issues immediately.
 So what: This factor includes that helps me in memorising that Turkey is the best place
and also become the best trip that provide pleasant experience to us. Turkey as amazing
hotels and stores which are highly engaged with natural places and the Turkish delights
were important part of the vacation.
 What next: I would recommend this place to others and according to me, to completely
visit this place we need 20 to 25 days as we were not able to cover few places of Turkey.

Hence, I have analysed that Turkey is good destination for the solo travellers, family and
friends.
