INTRODUCTION
Study skills are the most important element that helps an individual to build their
professional career plan. This enable individual to study and helps to fulfill the learning
requirements. Present study is based on the academic skills and how much it is useful for
students to get admission in Michigan State University. Further, study will be explaining about
the main reasons for studying a degree at University. Besides, it also helps to develop the core
academy skills that can be developed and why they are important in career development. At the
end of the section, research is also supporting the same short term and long-term goals that will
be most fruitful for personal development.
MAIN BODY
1. Explaining the main reasons for studying a degree at university.
The foremost reason to study in university is to learn transferral skills. In other words, the
skills that student learn is very helpful to get opportunities in future and desired outcomes of the
individual (Adger Snow and Christian, eds., 2018). Besides, another major reason to get study
from university is to get the desirable job in the future. Overall, all these learning provide goals-
oriented outcomes and results that makes good impact on the personal growth as well.
Another main reason for the student to get study from the institution is to get to know
about the use of technology that been given the best impact on the personality. In modern time,
companies are hiring people who well understand the use of new technologies.
Combine passion and desired results is another reason for which students should get
engaged with the University. Such as if student want to make career in business so they need to
develop their interest and target goals in order to meet out the career objective and goals.
2. Explaining the core academic skills that can be developed and why they are important.
To learn study skills such as Learning styles, Paraphrasing, Academic writing, Note
taking, Time management and communication are very much necessary for students to grab and
explore career opportunity (Best and Kahn, 2016). All these skills should be learned by the
student to get deep understanding of the concepts involved in the system. Communication skills
is required to be developed in order to make the good relation and networks (Study skills for
students, 2019).
Academic skills are required to be developed in order to gain the theoretical knowledge
for the further implications process. Reason learning has always given the deep understanding

when new and existing knowledge is structured around the major concepts and principles of the
discipline (Cottrell, 2017).
All these skills required to behave in order to giving the best outcomes and career
outcomes. In other words, learning consists different strategies, approaches and pattern of
abilities and learning styles that helps in interaction process in order to get the good experience.
Core academic skills are very important to work or make student prepared for the global
economy. All these core skills also help student in different situations such as to resolve the
problem solving, Creativity, Analytic thinking, Collaboration, Communication etc. (Glatthorn,
Jailall and Jailall, 2016).
3) Study plan that includes the short term and long-term goals
Short term goals: These are the skills which needs to be accomplish soon and from all
the academic skills, learning style, Note taking, academic writing is the short-term goals which
needs to be achieved in short time.
Long term goals: These are those skills which needs to be attain for a longer term such
that paraphrasing, critical thinking and time management and analytical thinking or problem
solving.
