INTRODUCTION
Academic skills are made up of key skills including presentation skills, academic skills and
referencing. Studying with confidence is important for students in attainment of their career
goals. This presentation divided into different tasks, which includes information along with their
importance, CRAAP test and their effectiveness, support services provided by Leeds Trinity
University.
TASK 1
How do find information and evaluation of its source?
There are basically two sources of finding the information including primary and secondary.
Primary sources are including questionnaire, interview etc. Secondary sources are books,
articles, journals and many more. Al these are important sources but according to the present
report, secondary sources are important because it help in collecting and evaluating of in-depth
information about the subject.1 For example: marketing is the process of attracting larger base of
customers towards the product. This information is collated from the article of marketing that is a
best source. For evaluating this source, CRAAP test will be applied. This will be explained as
below:
C: Currency – Information collected from the article is based on 2020 that is accurate.
R: Relevance – This information helped me by providing accurate data about the marketing that
turn to support in my study.
A: Authority- Article is the main source of current information.
A: Accuracy- Definition of the marketing is reliable and correct information that helped in my
course or study 2.

P: Purpose- Main purpose of the existing information in article is to increase knowledge and
understanding about the marketing among students.
TASK 2
Understanding about the CRAAP test and its importance in study
CRAAP is an effective test model that help in evaluating of currency, relevance, authority,
accuracy and purpose of information. In addition, it is used to assist students to evaluate
resources effectively3. In this currency is related with the timeline of the information, relevance
is important of the information, authority is the sources of information, accuracy is the
truthfulness, reliability and correctness of the information, and purpose is the reason the
information exists. Along with this, all these are important information that will be essential in
my study.
CRAAP is important in my study because this test assist me by providing a list of questions
that help me in providing myself. This will be effective and accurate for my study because with
the help of this, I can easily perform my tasks or activities in systematic manner. main aim of
CRAAT test is to make more easy for me to identify the reliability and correctness of the
sources4. This test will support me in providing accurate and reliable information about the
studies that turn to support me in achieving of my career goals and objectives successfully and
within a minimum time period. Along with this, through CRAAP test I easily identified the time
of the information, accuracy of the information, sources of the data etc. These are important in
my studies that will be significant in my career growth and success and also supported me in
achievement of long term goals and objectives easily.

TASK 3
Key support services given by Leeds Trinity University along with 3 support services
There are basically three types of support services that are provided by Leeds Trinity
University to their students. These will be explained as below:
 Students with disability: Leeds Trinity University can give additional support and
advice to students with a diverse range of disability.
 Mental health: Leeds Trinity University can support direct to students towards the most
actual help whether that is their experienced and qualified practitioners on campus and
through local NHS5.
 Health: In this, Leeds Trinity University get registered with a dentist and doctor, and
outfit to data in their vaccinations.
Along with this, there are also some services that needed by me. These will be explained as
below in detailed manner. These are:
 Learning support: It need this type of support because it provides me access to
personalised study and academic skills support.
 Library and IT services: This is another support that I needed from the Leeds Trinity
University. This will help me by increasing my reading and IT skills that result in my
career growth and development6.
 Centre of journalism: This is important support for me because it will expertise,
facilities and provides me requirement hone my broadcast news skills.
Therefore, all these are main support the are essential and effective in my studies and also
assist me in attainment of my career goals and development successfully and effectively.

TASK 4
Understanding about the Be Brilliant tab and its importance in the studies
Be Brilliant is available in Leeds Trinity University that is a collection of resources to help
students in its learning to search for, reference and evaluate information in effective manner. it
covers the interactive tutorials, PDFs, videos and links to support students to develop their
information skills 7. Be Brilliant in reading lists is not easy to figure out what kind of data are
on reading list as well as where to analysis them so university have to create this tutorial to
support students. There are different areas that takes minimum 20 minutes such as books,
websites and journal articles.
Be Brilliant is important for me in my studies because it supported me by increasing my
different types of skills including communication, reading etc. These supported me in my career
development and growth in successful manner8.
CONCLUSION
From the above mentioned information, it has been determined that CRAAP test model is
effecting in evaluating of the reliability of the sources. Be Brilliant is important for students in
improving their learning about the subject.
