Opinion/reaction on the reading
From the reading, it is clear that culture largely contributes to the contemporary
fashion/style/dress in both the modern and traditional world. Thus, the different styles and
fashion that are displayed in the modern world are mainly based on people’s culture, beliefs and
traditions. Kaiser states how most of the society’s fashion/style/dress are influenced by their
culture.
How has your personal style/fashion/dress evolved over the past five years?
The globe is not portioned into the patchwork quilt of varying colored nations as
indicated in the mas and globes. The development of maps is typically a modern procedure. A lot
of the countries do not have apparent identifiable births as well as their deaths. However, if such
occurs, then that is unnatural. The above mentioned illustration also appeals to fashion. It is
ongoing, and it often changes with the material and personal visual comprehension of an
individual of who he or she is becoming. Generally, fashion involves the production of clothes
and appearances. Apart from that, it entails borrowing, changing, mixing and belonging. Over
the past five years, there have been a lot of changes in the fashion industry.
Some of the critical changes that have occurred over the past five years include, for
instance, the fashion currently represents a variety of subcultures. Almost everyone in the streets
can be seen wearing particular contemporary fashion. Fashion and culture can be linked together.
Often our style changes over time, and this, therefore, implies that everyone is learning,
adapting, growing and thus being better than we were before (Lunghi, 2018). The life events
careers, as well as our wardrobes, is a reflection of our personality and individuality. Personally,
women's fashion has changed over time with women moving from home life to the workforce.
Some even advocating for equal rights, and that has been due to the entry into the sexual

revolution that has all affected style. Initially, outing on of pants was seen as a political and
liberating act, and this is extremely difficult to accept.
Effect of the Reading on my Style/Fashion/Dress
Prior to making my clothes, I had a consistent and boring wardrobe. However after going
through the readings, there has been an effect on my style/dress/ fashion. For instance, I had to
shift my focus to office attire. The primary reason for learning sewing was aimed at recreating
this wardrobe, however with better fitting garments and very high quality fabrics. After some
time, sewing of solid and dark fabric became boring, so I had to change to wild and crazy colors.
Several years of trying making so many clothes shifted my style, and therefore I turned into
making a new outlook as indicated in the images below. The following are some of the exhibits I
currently sew;

Over the past five years, I have been engaged in making a variety of dresses based on the
above indicated theme that entails, a complete pleated skirt. Also, I have developed skirts with
variant fabrics and prints with identical tops that are clear and presentable to the eye. In 2016, I
had to launch some more relaxed weather dresses that contained bright but muted color palette.
Such dresses mainly fit through the hips, and this was the effect of the production of dresses with
slight variations based on the 1960s silhouette even though it was in one piece.
How has your style/fashion/dress reflected that you are a "transnational fashion subject with

My style/fashion/dress has reflected a transnational fashion with respect to the
intersectional subject positions entangled in the circuit of style fashion dress by a variety of
reason. For instance, the dresses I wear are put on by different individuals across the globe. One
essential dress is the one indicated in the images above. Also, that particular fashion is worn by a
variety of cultures, and therefore it goes beyond our nations as it moves to other countries
globally (Kaiser & McCullough, 2010). Additionally, the style i like has reflected a transnational
fashion with respect to the intersectional fashion subject because it has been widely accepted

across the globe. The women, for example, prefers these days to wear dresses with wild and
crazy colors because it makes them appear smart and presentable while in office.
Discovery Made
What I have discovered about the society in relation to fashion/dress/style based on the
reading is that it enables various individuals to express their personality. Over the years, fashion
has been considered as one of the critical aspects of culture and society. Therefore, while there
was the world human development, the practice of clothing also occurred. A lot of people
created clothes out of varying materials to put on. Additionally, unlike the values of the society
that are based on culture and beliefs remain, the fashion trends come and go.
The discovery pertains to the existing societal values and events in that they are a
representation as well as the identity of any particular community. A community is identified
using their culture that could be based on their style, dressing code as well as fashion.
Conclusion
In summary, fashion has evolved over the years with numerous variant styles and dresses
coming into glamour. Over the past five years, for example, I have experienced particular
changes in the personal style, dress as well as fashion. One particular change in personal style is
the shift in the dresses I used to wear. The societal values and events are a key element that
facilitates fashion/dress/style of a community thus it is a key determinant of major fashion styles
in various societies
