Introduction
Every business has to develop new projects for the better operation of the business along with
maintaining good competition in the competitive market. Managing the project and execution
of the project successfully is the major area of concern for the organisations because it helps
in enhancing the profit margin of the organisations. In order to understand more about the
benefits of the project management, the project management processes of Hook Norton
Brewery is discussed. The organisation is headquartered in Oxfordshire and it is one of the
small-sized enterprises of UK with 50 employees working under them. The organisation is
launching a new product named as the spicy sandwich so that Hook Norton can deliver it
while delivering beer it to their retail outlets. Since the business of the firm is not widespread,
the firm has to undergo various researches before incorporating the project into their
business. The study focuses on executing the project properly with the fewer funds that the
firm has.
LO1
P1 Initiating the project aims along with objectives for the scenario that is
chosen
Project Management is the process of managing the project in the stipulated time so that the
organisations will gain profit after the implementation of the project in their business (Adler
and Pittz, 2016, p.55). Hook Norton Brewery is launching a new product that requires proper
planning so that the manufacturing of the product and the handling of the limited resources of
the organisation is done accurately. The new project of Hook Norton Brewery involves the
process of proper initiation of the project, planning and executing the project plan correctly.
Finally, the monitoring and controlling the entire project accordingly is done for better
performance. This will help the small-sized firm to complete the project within the funds that
they have along with gaining good profit from the market. As per Alotaibi and Mafimisebi
(2016, p.501), the project management involves the resources, employees and the top
management of the organisation for the better execution of the project. Hook Norton Brewery
involves their less number of employees in the new product manufacturing so that the
organisation can expand their business in the supermarkets. Project management is
advantageous for Hook Norton Brewery because it aids in delivering efficient services to the
customers, improving the satisfaction of the buyers, enhancing the growth of the organisation
along with the employees. In addition to that, it also assists in expanding the services of the

firm. Aragonés-Beltrán et al. (2017, p.490) mentioned that project management is essential
for carrying out the plans for the projects so that it brings great outcomes for the firm.
Hook Norton Brewery understands this fact and thus, works on the right path for increasing
their profit margin. Baptista et al. (2016, p.670) commented that the project is required to be
framed after setting the objectives of the business firm. Hook Norton has set the objective of
expanding their business in the supermarkets. The organisation has the scope of expanding
because the product is an entirely new type of snacks that can be eaten with a beer. The main
purpose of manufacturing the new product is that it can help in gaining good market revenue
for Hook Norton Brewery. In order to have a good documentation of the project, the
organisations have to prepare a presentation that will contain pictures and description about
the current projects. Hook Norton Brewery needs to prepare such documentation and
organise the steps for manufacturing of the item. This will assist the organisation to manage
the entire project suitably so that they launched product can bring huge profit in their
business. Moreover, plan and the order of the steps have to be arranged duly for better
completion of the project. Hook Norton is a small sized enterprise and that is why; it has to
continue the execution of the project with limited resources.
Aim of this project is to expand business of Hook Norton Brewery in local market as well as
global market so that more number of customers can be involved to taste their new snacks
item. Their business is very small and they have struggled a lot to survive in such competitive
market. That is why; magnification of trade and commerce of this brewery is required to be
done in order to ensure profitable outcomes. Apart from this, this company, for successful
operation of business, also commit to maintain good quality of product.
P2 Producing a plan for the project that fulfils the strand of the cost of the
project, scope, time, quality, risk, communication
In order to develop a project plan, certain things have to be kept in mind like identifying
target customers, understanding the scope of the project and setting the quantifiable
objectives (de Araújo et al. 2017, p.460). All these factors will help in understanding the risk
in the project, cost involved in the project execution along with using the required resources
for the project. Initially, Hook Norton Brewery has to plan the time limit that will be required
for the completion of the project. In addition to that, the firm has to assess the costs, risks and
issues involved in the project. The small-scale enterprises have fewer funds, limited resources
and less developed technology (de Guimarães et al. 2017, p.882). Before setting the plan,

Hook Norton Brewery has to analyse the resources whether it will be enough for the
manufacturing of the product or not. The risk of investing more funds in the product
manufacturing need to be undertaken by the company so that better outcomes can be
ascertained. The organisation has to be very efficient in dealing with the problems that can
come in the manufacturing of the item.
The market competition has to be considered by the firm for making proper changes in the
quality of the product. The organisation has to be very efficient in the marketing of the
product along with making the packaging more appealing. This will attract a number of
customers towards the new launched snacks item. Gama et al. (2016, p.126) claimed that
proper project plan comprises of the entire planning to the execution of the plan so that it
brings better consequence for the organisation. Hook Norton Brewery have to make the plan
according to the above-mentioned process so that the aftermath remains remarkable. It is
required for Hook Norton Brewery to assess the time in a perfect way because it will aid in
bringing the positive conclusion to the new project.
The organisations have to complete their new project plan in the stipulated time for bringing
magical growth in the organisational profit (Hwang and Ng, 2013, p.273). Hook Norton
Brewery needs to follow this technique and allocate the resources according to the budgets of
the firm. This will enhance the number of deliverables from the latest product of the
company. The quality of the current product has to be unique so that it can help in grabbing
the attention of a large number of customers. Thus, the proper time management and exact
project plan will be helpful for Hook Norton Brewery to attain the objectives that are set
before initiating the project.
Project plan for Hook Norton Brewery is required to be preceded as stated above so that the
company can earn profit after completion of project. Spicy sandwich is required to be
prepared by the firm in bulk amount for providing delivery in various outlets in local markets.
Time required for completion of this task has to be set before working on it. This will help in
assessing growth conveniently. This activity requires more number of workers so that plan
can be executed duly. Moreover, plan of project is required to be after consulting with
existing staffs. It will assist in gaining more attention of employees towards main project.

P3 Framing the time with the help of Gantt Chart and constructing a work
breakdown structure
The Gantt chart is shown in the research that shows in what processes the project is executed
so that better results can be obtained. In the chart, it is seen that it required one to seven days
to select a project that will be beneficial for the brewery house. When the decision is taken,
features are collected so that the plan can be formed and incorporated in the business. In
order to make a proper plan, arrangements are done in about eight to sixty days. Reviewing
need to be done for the collected data and it requires sixty days to complete it. A research
plan is then prepared after analysing the entire process and the preparation of the plan is done
in that sixty days only. The main task of choosing the research techniques is left finally
because research techniques help in bringing collecting of the data properly. The data should
be collected with the help of primary and secondary tools. Secondary data need to be
analysed if beneficial results are required to be brought from the project. The close
monitoring of the project need to be done by the firm so that the plan brings positive results.
This tasks are done in about two hundred fifty days and then investigation of the data have to
be done so that the incorporation of the plan brings magical results for the business of Hook
Norton Brewery. After analysis of the project then the project, need to be submitted in order
to get the reflection of the results in the business.

The work breakdown structure is provided for the organisation where it is seen that entire
process of producing beer is shown. The main ingredients that are required for the
preparation of the beer are sugar, yeast, hops and malt so that the quality beer is delivered to
the people. The equipment is also mentioned in the breakdown structure, which is required
for containing the beer in the bottles. Moreover, manufacturing of beer and procedure for
conditioning along with cooling of the beer is required in the brewery industries. Hook
Norton Brewery does the same but has to bring some changes in the beer quality.
LO3
P5 Analysing the research and the data with the help of the correct tools
and techniques
According to Flick (2011, p.445), research and the collection of the data can be done by
conducting a well-defined and documented primary research. This will help in understanding
the specific problems and get information about the peer’s business from the customers. This
research conceals the distinct information and relevant data, which is provided to the
researcher by the management authorities of the company. Hook Norton Brewery conducts
the research in the verbal mode so that the issues can be clearly understood by the top
management of the organisation. The firm can also undertake written mode so that it can
influence the target audience of the organisation. The conducted research can be done in both
online and offline mode because it will help in encountering with numerous people. It is
essential that research process should be adopted in such ways so that the corporation can be
able to understand the likings and disliking about their products (Mansor et al. 2016, p.1933).
Hook Norton Brewery is a very small company with very fewer employees that is why; every
employee has to work hard to reach to the customers by every possible mode. Therefore, the
better understanding of the people’s motives will be done because it is the main motto of
conducting research.
When the research is conducted by online mode, people will be placing their views without
any hesitation in front of the corporation (Martinelli and Milosevic, 2016, p.362). Hook
Norton Brewery have to focus on this mode for bringing positive results from the product
launching. The findings of the research will be aiding the organisations to prepare a
conclusion to the projects properly. Hook Norton Brewery can gather the information about
the target audience and thus, make a successful plan correspondingly. The opinions of every
Document Page
section of people from youth to old age people can be recorded by the enterprises (Martinsuo
et al. 2014, p.733). Similarly, Hook Norton Brewery will get immense help if the opinions of
the people are recorded. The business house will get the logical results when questions will
be asked to the target audiences. The small enterprise can adopt the conclusion of serving the
people according to their desire so that profitable out-turn can be assured. Moreover, the
conducted research has to be evaluated so that the fresh project can ensure good competition
in the market. The Brewery has to gather information whether the people are aware of their
products and if they like the beer manufactured by them or not. This can be worthwhile for
the brewery house to make changes in the product quality according to the desire of
customers. Hook Norton Brewery will be able to avail huge capital for their business, which
will promote in maximising their business in brewery industry.
P6 Communicating proper recommendations as the outcomes of the
research
It is seen that the small-sized enterprise has faced various issues while collecting the data
because the process is very expensive and consumes huge time. The business corporations
have to undergo various reformations in their structures so that primary research brings
fruitful results (Meng, 2012, p.190). Hook Norton Brewery, while conducting the research,
saw that large number of people do not about the services provided by them. Moreover, the
people were very unaware of the quality of the beer that is manufactured by the firm. The
employees have to make people aware of the services provided, mention them about the
functioning areas of the business and then conduct the primary research. Due to this, the
research became time taking and the employees had to face huge difficulty in convincing the
people to take part in the research.
Muller (2011, p.170) demonstrated that secondary data collection process has disadvantages
like unreliability and biased results. Similarly, the enterprise collected information that
cannot be entirely relied upon. The results were totally biased because Hook Norton Brewery
is a not a big enterprise and the accurate secondary data are not found. The employees had to
face the immense problem, which led them to take some beneficial decisions for the business.
After the analysis, it can be recommended for Hook Norton Brewery to take a risk of
investing more funds in their business so that it can flourish more. The firm has taken the
good decision of maximising their business but it requires the involvement of huge capital.
Therefore, the brewery can collaborate with other big enterprises of the brewery sector in
order to expand the business of Hook Norton Brewery across the borders.
Document Page
It is required for the brewery house to increase the number of employees in their factories so
that they can manufacture the products for numerous people. Moreover, the quality of the
services needs to be embellished more so that the business enterprise observes a rise in the
business of beer. In present days, people are attracted towards the famous brands and they try
to use every product from the renowned brands only (Muriana and Vizzini, 2017, p.370).
Therefore, Hook Norton Brewery has to amplify their services and products more so that the
brand name becomes popular in front of the masses. It is essential that the company analyses
the performance of the other big industries in this sector so that it gets the idea of executing
the business properly. This will succour the business house to create brand awareness in the
local market. It is highly recommended that the small-scale enterprise undertake these
policies so flourish more in trade and commerce. Moreover, the objectives, which are set, can
be easily fulfilled if the venture undertakes the suggestions in their merchandising.

P7 Consideration of value to meet objectives and learning prospects
A project management includes a set of processes and those are quite algorithmic. Following
the same, it is the responsibility of a project manager to fix all of the issues by detecting the
right combat of change management. In the mentioned project, the prospect of change
management has got value due to the same reasons. On the other hand, the managed
secondary resources are referred according to the right choice. It means each and every
source is found to be perfect match with the requirements. Without having supportive
database, a project manager cannot manage operations on time in terms of decision making.
Besides that, the chosen methodology has supported the project type.
Moreover, if it is a matter to reflect self knowledge, I would like to inform my quality as
manager in the prospect of change management. On the other hand, the changing prospects
should get solution in quickest possible time. Otherwise, I will not be able to meet the
outcomes of the changes in quickest possible time. Finally, my learning stress will also
engage in the observation period. If a respective project cannot be made under surveillance,
progress metrics cannot be set.
